First time at Universal Nails and Spa was a couple of weeks ago for a no chip and I noticed some girls getting full sets and decided I would come back. I scheduled an appointment for a full set and pedicure and was even more thrilled than my first visit. I did an almond shape full set and the shape was perfect on the first try. They were outstanding from my first interaction with them! I messaged them after hours inquiring about a website. They responded immediately stating they didn't have one but when I let them know I was trying to locate pricing they quickly sent me a photo of their services and prices. Ten of us came in for my nieces wedding and they were so friendly, accommodated us all quickly and did a great job! They offered chairs to those that were standing by visiting, had candy set out, offered waters and were very good with the little ones that were with us. I love this place. Specially the nail tech, Louie. He does an amazing job and a great conversationalist. When I come in with a color that I want, he already knows it or can get me a very similar one. He is very kind and patient with my kids when i have to bring them in. The place is very clean and it has a relaxing atmosphere. It is a big salon so you don't feel on top of other people. They have numerous choice of free beverages and a rewards program. Their choice of gel colors is extensive. It is a little pricier than other salons but for good reason. Just started working next door to this nail place and thought I'd give it a try since it's right next door and the people are always nice.. Anyways.. I got a full set with gel.. after everything was filed, I was never told to wash my hands.. so the polish didn't look smooth and the shape of the nails were so clumpy that I even noticed the technician did a double take at how distasteful they looked. The left side of all my nails were filed way too much so they were all crooked.. there was acrylic on my CUTICLES.. The shapes of my nails were so unnatural and clumpy ugh. I went to the register at it was FORTY dollars for **** nails. I filled in the tip area with $2 and told her I would've given her $20 if they didn't look so ****** and she then wanted to fix it when I told her that. I declined the offer.. I did not want her touching my nails any further. I went straight home and filed everything down and put another coat of acrylic on myself. Awful experience. I had an acrylic full set done with coffin shape. They charge $5 extra for that shape request, but I can't say I am completely satisfied-- I would recommend more practice with this, especially if there is an upcharge. I used to live here in Broward. Tao, does my pedicure. Where ever she goes I go, that's how good she is. I now travel 2.5 hours to get my pedicure done and don't allow anyone else to do my feet. Customer service is amazing where ever she goes. She is highly recommended!! Read Less

I just waked out. Someone started to remove the gel nail polish from my nails and while the nail polish remover was soaking in I was choosing my color. I guess I didn't choose fast enough so she decided to start someone else's nails when I told her my color. I literally spent 20 minutes sitting there with my nails in the  foil when they could have been started on my nails but instead they chose to skip me. Completely rude and unprofessional. Not even busy at the moment but yet felt the need to be rushed. Not where you want to go to relax and have your nails done and def not where you want to go if you're in a hurry. Won't be returning. I read the reviews before going into the salon because I needed to find a good spot. The reviews were good so I decided to try it out. Service was good and the people were friendly. But when my mom seen my nails she was upset. I thought it was good until I really examined my fingers. I received a full set with regular white paint. I believe it is the paint that made my nail look messed up. But I will go back again and try out the gel. Read Less

New to the area, I wanted to find a place I could go to and trust. I didn't want to spend too much knowing that down south Florida, things get over priced. I looked this business up on Yelp and realized it was right down the road from me. So I gave it a try. I had a great first experience here. My first time getting a manicure and pedicure since I moved to the area and it was with Miley. She was awesome. The place is beautifully decorated, a little small but they had everything! The guy at the front was rushing us. All he could have said was they were closed. He asked us to pay upfront and add a tip. He need better customer service skills. I told him that I would put a review on yelp and he started trying to be nicer by asking me questions and "pretend smiling". This is the first time I'm coming here and it is not a good first impression, the salon was not even that packed. The inside seemed nicely decorated and the other people seemed nice but the guy at the front need to work on his skills on talking to people because this is the first thing people see from this place. I've been to other nail spas that were not well decorated but the customer service just made it nicer even though it may have not been so decorated as this one. Customer service tells a lot about the company and this was not a good first impression. I'm just a customer service fanatic because I work in the customer service field so I really get annoyed when people don't get good treatment. Maybe if I have another chance to be with another nail specialist, it would be different, for now, since I'm stuck with this one it has to be this.I'm giving this place a 3 star because of the decor aspect of the nail spa and because the other nail specialists seemed nicer,but since the guy at the front, who ended up being the one doing my nail had that attitude at first, they will have to get a 3 star. I just moved from New York to FL and I must say the prices are different and you can get better deals in New York. My friend was telling me about this location and I tried it out. This was a cool location because a lot of the staff speaks English and nice customer service. I did not have to wait long to get my pedicure done. They do have massage chairs which I always like!! I hate locations that do not invest in the massage chairs!! The nail tech took her time and did not cut or bruise me up so I was very happy. The deco is nice and clean location. My first experience was marvelous experience compared to similar establishments I have patronized.  I was greeted by a young lady who was the designated check-you-in person.    It was a mid after noon Saturday, and I got seated immediately for a mani/pedi.All of the techs has name badges. My tech was Leann. All I have to say is that I love Leann and I don't want anyone else ever to do my nails but her. Lol!  That's an  extreme statement but that's how she made me feel at that time.  She was professional, she was in command of what I asked for and she delivered, light pleasant conversation, she knew her craft. I fell asleep...zzzzz....woke up with gorgeous french toes. She was also directing traffic.....more than a just tech perhaps maybe?The prices are on the wall and seemed about average for similar services compared to elsewhere. I didn't have any surprise charges, Leann was very clear up front as to how much my service would be. Y'all know I'm fancy sometimes with the nail requests.
