As a bride getting ready for her wedding, I had a very negative experience at Nail & Beauty Bar. I booked an evening appointment for me and a couple of my girl friends and was really looking forward to a fun night with them and maybe some wine or champagne. When I arrived, the front desk guy was accommodating and had great customer service, but my nail technician was the worst and no one offered us anything to drink or eat, even though I had told them in advance that it was f...or a bridal party. The nail technician we had was clearly mad that they were short staffed and she was responsible for doing all of our nails plus one or two other customers who were in that night, and she made her frustration known, publicly, by rolling her eyes and nasty side comments. When my friend mentioned that my wedding was in a few days, she didn't even look up from what she was doing. She didn't smile or even fake a "congratulations." Nothing. I was part of a bigger party having nails done, I had a gel manicure and a signature pedicure. I filled out the slip with the different scrubs, oils and lotions for both the mani/pedi they used none of the scrubs, oil or lotion I had chosen during my manicure and only used the scrub during my pedicure which was less than mediocre. My daughter also had the same services with the same results. When we went to pay our total was $180 for both mani's and pedi's when I questioned the price it was repeated to me and I was total that a gratuity was already included. The gratuity was 25% which was absurd because the service we received was in no way worthy of a 25% tip. I used to go to Zen years ago but left and I'm glad I did. I will NEVER go back there again. This place is a small older nail salon. I received a orange pedicure and traditional manicure from mike. He did a meticulous job . He did a wonderful job massaging, exfoliating etc, in addition to the actual painting of the nails. He was also friendly. I would definitely suggest this place. My friend and I were very happy with the service at Zen Nail and Beauty Bar. The salon is extremely clean and welcoming. I loved the colors and the young man at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Our pedicures were GREAT - my friend got a "preggie" pedicure and I got a "sport" pedicure as I am always on my feet. It was delightful! It was so relaxing and the massage was exactly what I needed. We both got gel manicures afterwards and it was just as good! They did this beautiful "lace" design as an accent nail; mine was white and my friends was black. We had an overall delightful experience and although it was a bit pricier than what I am used to, the quality truly makes up for it. Read Less

It was an excellent experience! They take their time therefore providing you with soothing experience. It's comforting just walking in the door and smelling such a relaxing sent in the air. I would never consider returning to a traditional salon. If you want a rush job this not the place for you! I had an ultimate pedicure and a Signature manicure both wonderful! Read Less

After all the great reviews I thought Id give this place a try, Not happy! tried for a walk-in one day, didn't have time so I made an appt for the next day, while talking about how it was my lunch break so i was on a tight schedule... got there at 110 for a 115 appt, didnt get started till almost 130, asked if it was enough time as i had to leave by 150. She said no problem. After a quick trim and file (definitely their $15 express manicure-which i expected) polish was done a...t about 155, no time for lotion... i get to the register and its $40?!?!? That's insane. The price for gel polilsh wasn't on their website so I stupidly assumed it was like most places, $10 or so more than a reg mani. Not TRIPLE the cost. Ive had to file a few burrs off since leaving and the woman that finished right before me came back before i left with a smudge on one of her gels... There are about 10 nail salons within a few miles of my home and I've tried them all. I finally tried Zen Nail and Beauty Bar after doing some research. This place is truly a 5 star experience. The atmosphere is so calming and everyone is super nice. Everyone speaks fluent English and ONLY English. Their prices are worth every minute if service. I do wish they had individual pedicure chairs instead of the one long bench but it's still very cozy. And I wish they did some sort ...of chair massage. I go every other week and love how perfect my nails look when I leave. Im a working mom so when I take the time and effort to step away from my family I want to make sure it's worth it -- I want to know I'm getting a great pedicure/gel mani and leaving relaxed.
