Got a manicure with gel polish on a Saturday. By Tuesday, 3 of my nails had already chipped because the technician didn’t do anything with my cuticles and painted on top of them (which is the whole reason I get these done is to get those taken off and healthy again). So I go back with my receipt and they fix it Wednesday for free, as they should’ve and I appreciate that. HOWEVER, the same technician put polish on the tips of all my other nails and now you can see where she put the polish because it is now raised on the tips. My nails look stupid and it’s noticeable from a distance. I shouldn’t have come back after my gel polish came off after about 2 weeks last time I came (after that technician made me bleed and painted over the blood like it wasn’t there). Very unhappy customer who doesn’t plan on returning. UPDATE: Today is Friday and one of the same nails the technician fixed and repainted has already lifted. She painted on top of my cuticles. Complete waste of money. My gel manicure I paid almost $40 including tip didn’t even last a week even after being redone two days ago! Read Less

This was my first visit, and this experience tops any other i have had. They looked extremely busy when i arrived but i was seat as soon as i chose my color, the basic pedicure was 26 but i went for the green tea and hot rocks which was 38. The nail tech was very nice and avoided putting alot of pressure on a bruise i asked her to avoid. They used new files and buffers ans their instruments came out in a sterilized pouch which indicated it was sterilized. The atmosphere was peacful and relaxing. I never leave reviews but I really felt it necessary after my experiences. I’ve been here twice. The atmosphere is very nice however the service is horrible. The first time the lady that did my nails was noticeably annoyed and preoccupied with something else because she was getting ready to put acrylics on when I asked for gel. She was rough with my nails and complained about her problems the whole time. I’ve been getting gel for over 5 years and that was the worst because it began chipping within days. Never had that happen. The second visit I got a pedicure. It was the quickest pedicure ever and there was no lotion or massage etc., the standard things that come with a pedicure. The same lady did my nails and this time I did the dip. At the end she suddenly got up and walked away without saying anything, no cuticle oil, lotion etc. To pay that kind of money and feel like you’re an inconvenience, no thanks, I’ll start looking for a different salon. Definitely not one to post reviews, but this place definitely deserves one, and it’s not for good reasons!!! Gel Dip Manicure did not even last 2 weeks before it started chipping!!! When i went in, they told me that it would last longer than gel polish and would help my nails grow. Not only did it not last longer than gel polish, it caused my nails to break and now they’re super short because they had to be cut down to be even with the broken nails!!! When I went in to complain about the poor workmanship, they said that the gel doesn’t last 4 weeks as I was initially told and wouldn’t take responsibility for their crappy work. I needed the gel removed and should have just went elsewhere to have them repainted, but I thought they would do the right thing and discountvthe repair, but Inst they charged me full price and didn’t even apologize for the initial misinformation. When I signed the receipt, the front desk girl literally ripped it out of my hand, didn’t thank me and only gave me my receipt after I asked. I need that for proof of service if this redo goes bad as well!!! This will be my last visit here!!! Not impressed!!! Read Less

This is a very nice nail salon.  Very Clean and comfortable.  They are not always good with sitting parties together for pedicures even with appointments.  Although apologetic.  I've recently gone there for an acrylic fill-in which of course they try to upsell to gel or their new nail dip!!  I keep my nails fairly short and they charged me $2 extra for  trimming which takes about 10 extra seconds while they are smoothing down Nails. I was very disappointed with my last pedicure.  The tech was on her phone, watching tv, and chatting with the other workers too much.  I had to ask her trim my nails twice because of her lack of attention to what she was doing. It's been less than a week and my polish is already chipping off.  And I haven't been wearing closed-toe shoes!  Guess no topcoat that day. Read Less

This place was really busy but I was immediately greeted and accommodated. There was a guy walking around to make sure the employees were saying hello and talking to their clients. They have a great wide selection of pedicures. There have lots of stations so there isn't much of a wait, if any.  Very friendly staff and budget friendly pricing too!! Read Less

What a disappointing and bizarre experience! The customer service at this salon is probably the worst I have ever experienced. A male, possibly an owner, was incredibly rude when I asked for a service to be done. He embarrassed me in front of everyone sitting in the pedicure area, asking me if I knew what I was talking about.  (I wanted my two daughters to have their nails done as well as a pedicure-this was discussed upon booking and was also written on their appointment sheet when checking in).  He was also very annoyed that my youngest requested a girl to give her manicure.  My youngest had her pedicure done by Brenda who wanted to only give her a polish change. When corrected by another employee, she rolled her eyes and gave a big sigh, obviously annoyed that she had to give a child a pedicure.  (If children aren't welcome, then why have the chairs for children). 1. The salon was not busy, so she wasn't being taken away from a higher paying service.2. Her tip was significantly reduced simply because of her poor attitude and making my daughter feel like she wasn't worthy of a service. 3. My children are VERY WELL BEHAVED!!  They don't squirm, they are soft spoken, and have hearts of gold.  And they both noticed how this woman was "mean" to them. The other woman who gave my oldest daughters pedicure was super sweet and her tip reflected her positive attitude and great service. We appreciated her!!I went in to spend a good amount of money to treat my daughter for her 10th Birthday. It wasn't the experience I was hoping for and am disappointed in the way we were treated.  I wanted so bad to hop out of my tub of water and storm out of there, but trying to keep the day fun for my daughter and not cause any drama, I stayed put. I have been here numerous times. Normally I have an enjoyable time. I usually get a detailed pedicure with massage and a manicure. The last time I was there, the young man who did my nails was horrible, my nails were crooked and the other workers their even agreed. I couldn't even find him to fix them, he did not even push back my cuticles, the polish was gloppy and bubbly. It was horrible and deeply disappointing. I told the girl at the front, but she didn't see interested. I will eventually try them again, just take a break and visiting other places who care about doing my nails correctly. Read Less

Update: after 5 days my gel nails were cracked and peeling, earlier than any other place Ive had them done. I will not return. This is a nice place and the service is friendly. It was my first time going to this salon. I apparently came at a busy time. I'd recommend making an appointment if you plan on going in around 3-4 on a weekday. It took about 20 minutes of waiting, and then Tom took me to his table. It was $30 for a full set with a coffin shape. He was nice, and he did a great job! They didn't concentrate on the lotion/massage aspect of a manicure, but I didn't really care.The decor of the place is gorgeous. I'd recommend this place. Read Less

The 2nd time i have been here and very nice atmosphere, love the pressure on massage chairs, but i have asked for someone that gave good pressure on legs when massaging with pedicure, but the last person i had did not give good pressure at all and hardly rubbed them at all, does anyone know of someone good for this? This is a great location, with a decent selection of services and colors.  I had a regular nail tech who was amazing, and if she was still there it would be 5 stars. Since she left, I have had over a dozen others and I wouldn't want to request any of them again. If I'm paying $40-45 for a pedi (without any polish), I would expect a little more attention elsewhere. I got spoiled with a tech that always did the nail shaping perfect, was GREAT at hangnails on the occasional chance I had one, and the massage was wonderful. Van Spa is always clean, relatively short wait, and good service. They have an OK selection of regular nail colors. All people are very nice but my biggest pet peeve is when I feel like my tech is talking about me in another language to a friend and that is what they do. Or they just don't talk to you at all and it can be awkward. Overall, it's a clean place to get your nails done. I recommend scheduling an appointment ahead of time just to be safe. Read Less

Very nice nail salon and ran like and well oiled machine even though it's packed at 9:30 am as soon as they are open!! Lots of tvs, well venilated, and pumping AC. They have at least 20 nail tables and 10 pedicure chairs. Spa like music plays. Plently of parking. No water or tea offered. Walk ins welcomed - they have a bunch of people on staff on Saturdays to prevent total failure.  Arylic fill-in $18 (which is semi suspect since pink and white fill is $15 and gel fill is $20) French $5, acrylic  full-set $25, and they have dip powder!Took off stars because they are a little sloppy (no attention to details) and because I saw one of the nail techs pour acetone into a nail polish bottle. Tina did a great job on my gel manicure. I picked #408 shade. The guy at the front is so funny. Great place. Gel mani $30 and comes out fantastic. 30 mins. Very friendly people and they speak English. Will be coming back. Best place I found in the area. Clean instruments. They open the sterilized pouches in front of you. I'm relatively new to the Lakeland area and I keep giving this salon a chance because they have all the latest polishes..however, I've only been happy with the service the first time I've gone and unfortunately I forgot her name and can't seem to pinpoint her when I go back. After that, every time I've gone, I end up leaving disappointed and debating if I should keep trying them until I find the right person or switch salons altogether. This time around, my pedi was very disappointing..at first it looked ok when I glanced at it from my pedi chair, but after I got outside, I noticed polish residue all around my toes and on some toes, the blue polish from my previous pedi was still visible..the polish was also inconsistent..I debated going back in to have it redone but decided against it to not waste anymore of my day. Another time, I got a chrome mani and had to go back a day later to have them fix it(thankfully the manager step in and fixed it because I am too nice of a person to say I didn't want the same person to fix it since I did not think she was very good).This place is on the pricey side and it's such a shame that I am having a hard time feeling satisfied with the service provided. Visited this spa for the first time Thursday, May 18th for a pedicure and added an eyebrow wax. My first clue something was wrong is it hurt much worse than usual and she never showed me a mirror. What I realized shortly after was that instead of just waxing my eyebrows she waxed me eyelids which are obviously much more delicate and not something she should have been touching. We immediately went out of town so I contacted the spa asking for advice on line and was told my skin must have been thin. Of course it was, it was my eyelids! They wanted me to drive back over there - 45 minutes from my home and point out who had performed the service since they keep no records apparently. I did however tell them all the details, what she looked like (red/purple hair), the chair and time of visit. They were only ever willing to offer a refund of $8 for the wax which I believe was inadequate and extremely poor customer service. I understand mistakes happen but a business should always provide excellent customer service if they want to succeed. Lesson learned, I will be much more careful in choosing this type of service going forward for sure. The picture below is three days later with scabs on both eyes, very painful for sure! Sadly we had a weekend getaway where I had to walk around looking this way and couldn’t take any family photos because of the way I looked. I like the atmosphere, and the staff seem very professional, except one thing: I watched as a customer came in and requested a pedicure, and the employee that greeted her as a technician that was on her electronic device by the front door if she wanted to do that pedicure. The technician said for who and looked around the waiting room at the only person and looked them up and down and said well I guess so. I found that to be a bit rude. The place is very clean. I was very impressed with how sanitary they keep everything. I also like all of the choices that they have for their pedicure services. The only thing I would suggest about my own pedicure today is that my technician could have applied more effort to the massage part as she barely was touching my skin and she did not wipe the oils and lotion from between my toes, and when I was leaving I had to do this myself when I got to the car. Highly recommended. Came in for the first time and I couldn't have been more satisfied. I got a pedicure and a full set, both women that took care of me were amazing. The atmosphere is also fantastic. The only complaint I've seen frequently is that they are over priced to which I have to disagree.. the charge the same amount as any other place for the services the provide and they do them exceptionally well. These people are very pricey, they "nickel and dime" you for EVERYTHING!! Charge for cutting nails even when your nails are not even long to begin with, simple extra nail designs, color french manicure, removing gel polish. I also dislike that SOME of their employees are really slow. One of the technicians started on my nails at 9:30, didn't finish till after 12 and I still had not gotten my toes done. Yes the business looks really nice on the inside and now I know how they are able to afford this look, we the customers are paying for the upkeep of the salon with their pricey services. I would give them three stars for the FEW employees who were fast and did a good job with my nails in the past. I give them a one star rating for the SLOW employees and their prices. I wish I could give a 0 for the extra price charges per service. Also, they have technicians who do not know the prices they are charging customers. I received a simple design and the technician did not tell me upfront that it was considered an additional design to what I was already being charged and it would be an extra fee. Oh yeah, they changed some prices on their menu, so you don't really know what the accurate prices are for each service, you have to take their word for it! Read Less

Trisha did a great job on my nails, and the guy who worked on my daughter was just as good (don't know his name but he has a tattoo of a rose on his arm). Buyer beware!!! These people (minus Tammie) are RUDE and don't care at all about customer service. Was literally ushered like cattle. Had my nails and toe nails painted (amazing job Tammie) as well as I asked for natural looking lash extensions and they put caterpillars on my face. When I asked the girl to please take some off to thin them out, she just pulled them all off!!! Now mind u they put these things on u at the nail desks where there is no mirror. Bill was $83 The manager walks over and with her smart mouth and says to me "u should saa someting befo she finish not wait till she done" hmmm. HTF am I gonna know what it looks like when all I can see is a little Asian woman with tweezers? I handed the blond moron at the counter $60 in gift cards then told her to put the rest plus a tip (Tammie) on my debit. The moron charged my card $83 & took the gift cards. Went back up there to fix it and they acted like I had done something wrong. Smh they just didn't know. If u want to be disrespected and taken from, hit em up. I am a Certified Nail Designer for 25 years and a Stylist from up North. My daughter is going to SEU in Lakeland and needed a place to get her nails done. We shopped and visited around nail salons as I have been to visit a few times. I highly recommend this place. My sister in-law came w us last time and is a stylist as well. We all rated it 4* The place is very clean, attentive, offers free complimentary beverages and yes that includes wine! Their pedicures are worth the money as it wasn't the rushing and get you in and out kind of feel. It was very relaxing, Nail n Toes painted side wall to side wall and the Kiara Sky collection is by far our favorite! (next to OPI) and they have the Gel!!With great color collections! Beautiful place but the service has gone down from when they first opened, at least in my experience. Hubby and I go for pedicures together but he refuses to come back here as they did a poor job on his feet the 2x he came with me. His heels were so rough, not baby butt smooth like he gets at another place we go too. They used to offer soda, wine or water, but they didn't when I came in recently. Last 2x I went, ended up with Vicky for my gel mani. First time, the coatings were too thin, color did not look like the bottle or color swatch at all. I figured it was the polish's quality. Then the gel polish was not cleaned out properly around the nail and stuck to the skin so when the nail grew, the polish pulled off the skin, cracked and ripped. Next time I went, got her again, this time she forgot to put the second coat so left and right hand were not the same color. When I pointed out to her, she swiped off the top coat, which thinned the color, then applied the 2nd coat. Then she got into a rush, I barely felt the hand and arm massage, before applying oil on the nails. Later I realized she didn't check if the nails were cured before putting the oil because when my hands dried after I was gone, found that half of my left thumb was dull and the polish was sticky. The first times I came here when they just opened, the tech would use a brush with acetone to clean the drips around the nail bed, so when the nail grew out, the polish was still perfect. I didn't see anyone do that when I last came. She used her thumb nail to clean around the nail bed and filed the extra polish that stuck out. I noticed other places have been doing the same too. I ADORE this nail salon. They ALWAYS offer the newest and coolest trends, from mood changing polish, to holographic nails. The nail technicians can do anything! They are all very talented, helpful and create a relaxed professional atmosphere. Every-time I go I have a new idea and they don'y blink an eye! There's nothing they won't try to make you happy. I've got all my friends and family coming, they love it as well. It's so spacious we're able to all get pedicures together, and enjoy a beautiful VIP room. The salon is also exceptionally clean! All tools are one use, opened right in front of you, and they even line the pedicure bowls with a plastic lining each time! If you ask you receive a free drink, and the decor is breathtaking! I've been coming here for about a year. In the beginning every thing was amazing. They asked if you wanted something to drink and they made you feel comfortable. I normally ask for someone specific, but she wasn't available the last two times I've gone in for a pedicure. I've had Vanny and Mimi (I think that was her name). Do not let these people touch your feet! Vanny didn't trim my nails short enough and later I got ingrown toe nails. Mimi did a half hearted job from the massage to painting. The next day my paint chipped. Their prices have gone up and the service has declined. If you go here ask for Tammy. Read Less

I had a poor experience. I'd been going to another salon owned by the same family for a while, but Vans is closer to home. I tried them out and wanted to get the "seashell" glitter on my nails. I asked if it would cover evenly on my whole nail. I was told yes by two different techs.That was not the case. Half of the really nice glitter was sanded and filed off so that there were few scattered pieces left. Not what I wanted. My tech tried to ignore my faces and continued talking to the tech next to her so that I had to chance to tell her I was unhappy. I finally did when my wife came over and agreed that it was subpar.We had to use glitter paint to cover the mess she made. You cannot see any of the seashell stuff... I was still charged for it, plus for the gel polish.In addition to that, she did a horrible job shaping my nails. I always get rounded square, but the nails were crooked and had so much acrylic left under my nails.I'm not usually upset to get charges for services rendered, but I do not get to have the design I wanted. Why not take the extra charge off to get me to come back? When you upset a customer, you try to remedy the situation. I'll not be going back. The longer drive to my other place it'll be. Read Less
