Friendly people, honestly. Very nice and welcoming, but the quality of nails were so bad. I was rushed through — I specifically asked for a style and upon asking twice, it wasn't delivered. It's ok, I liked the color they chose, but during the drying process, asked about the bubbles. They insisted it was normal. Because they were rushed to close, my concerns of a poor paint job, bubbles, and how "wet" my nails still seemed, they simply ignored. Not happy, sadly but you get what you pay for. Read Less

Had a great first experience. The second time going I decided to get my nails done. The person was very friendly. Unfortunately the gel was not done properly so I had to go back. I called and explained that I could not make it back the same day but would be by the following. When I arrived and explained what I was there for I immediately received an attitude. Still I waited until the person that did my nails was free to fix mines. Unlike the day before where the nail tech was very warm and talkative, they basically ignored my questions and would only answer with the nod of the head! Then I got CHARGED for them fixing the mistake they did and my nails are still not fixed correctly! The person was rushing to accommodate another client as if I’m not a paying customer as well. The staff is really friendly and I normally go here to get my nails done, but everytime I ask for short pointed nails which to my understanding is $25, they're never short (which I don't mind, I normally go home and make them shorter) and last time I went they over charged me $30 for "long nails" even when I asked for short nails. This place is awesome!  Dot did a great job on my nails & deluxe manicure. He's very personable, fun & professional. Very highly recommend!  The deluxe, not to mention the extra massage, hot stone massage, and complimentary wine or beer! Wow! Need a pedi or mani....request Dot!  On the other hand, Lisa was also exceptional on my Mom's gel manicure!  Linda was very professional with Mom's pedi as well.  The wine was an additional bonus but seriously, remember the names Dot & Lisa! The man who has done my nails, Tom, consistently does really great, detail oriented work. Very clean and nice salon. Definitely the best in Lakeland. My only complaint is the woman who owns it; she made fun of other clients in front of us as well as told the girl whose nails she was doing that she hoped she wouldn't accept the offered appt because she wanted to go home (which I get is a perfectly understandable thought but it wasn't particularly professional.) Not that I can give an actual review because we didn't get any service done, we saw reviews online and went! We assumed we didn't need a appointment it's Tuesday! However we walked in took some time for people to greet us if you can call it a greeting! We asked for 3 pedicures, there was no response so we just picked out colors and sat down! With all this time passing apparently that's the time they needed to tell us we needed to come back! We told them no thanks! Bad customer service and if they explained they were busy and nice we would of made appointments and came back! Bad customer service! There was only 5 customers in the place if that! So i LOVED LOVED LOVED my mani pedi... the pedicure was amazing and well worth every penny... the manicure was just as good.  I had Linda and she was great!!!  No complaints with her whatsoever!!!The reason for the 3 stars!  I walked in at 3:30 and I'm not an appointments type of person, i have 7 kids it's hard to keep anything with 7 kids!!  So i NEVER complain about the wait, i can't!  I went in and told them what i wanted, chose a color and sat down... they told me it would be 30 minutes... i was ok with that!Well someone grabs me 5 minutes in and tells me that she's waiting for an appointment at 4 so she can start my manicure.  I was ok with that... i sat down at her table and we started talking, well she pulls out the acetone and i told her that there's gel on my nails.  She said ok, i can wrap your nails but i might not be able to do them, it takes time to soak off, I'm fully aware of that so i told her to proceed.  She proceeds to DRILL THEM DOWN!!!!  At first she just started with the top layer and then goes back for round 2 to completely take them off with a DRILL!!  My nails are thin and brittle as it is, that's why i rarely do gel... i asked her not to do it that way and she said that it would be quicker and pointed to my finger saying that she's not taking any of my actual nail off... I'm pissed and i felt like she wasn't listening to me... then after she's done, she says "by the way, if you're not reapplying gel, we charge you $5 to remove the gel"... at this point I'm angry and disappointed, i wanted to love this place and she's the first person i meet... terrible first impression for this salon!!  So I'm angry and seething because not only did she not make me aware of the "extra fee" until she was done, she drilled down my nail beds so much that they look flat almost... then to top it off, Only 4 fingers on my left have gel and 1 finger and i was charged the full price to drill my nail beds down!!!!!  I'm not going to stop going because it's honestly the first place in Lakeland that i actually liked... the pedicure is worth that stupid fee i paid!  But please all i ask is when there is an extra fee, be upfront!!  No worse business than one that is sneaky about their fees... The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the people there are SO nice. The customer service would get 5 stars for me, but the nails itself though... .. I went in on Friday to get nail dip powder and yesterday as I was showering ALL MY NAILS BASICALLY FELL OFF! :( They started lifting like crazy and when I pulled at them ever so slightly, they just popped off. I'm very sad because I really liked the place. I'd hoped I'd found my go-to nail salon. I don't think I should spend over 40 dollars to have my nails just to have them on for for 3-4 days. I feel so guilty! I really liked the atmosphere of the salon and people were so nice. :( Read Less

This is not a great "ambiance" nail place and doesn't rate the title of "spa".  It is coldly decorated, the door is often open, a moped is parked on the sidewalk in front of it (crowding it) and they smoke out on the bench in front of the open door so it "reeks" upon entering and while you are there.  hack. hack.   That being said, they do a fine job on mani's and a hit or miss job on peds.  There are nicer "spa-like" options in Lakeland. I had a liquid gel set done yesterday and absolutely loved my entire experience. It was priced fairly at $35 and I had done my research to make sure I was going to receive a true gel application. Many nail salons do not utilize the actual gel product because of the cost and amount of time it takes to apply and cure on the nails, but I don't care for acrylic and "gel powder" is not true gels. I called ahead to make sure it was the service I was looking for and was very happy to learn they offered it. It is best to make an appointment so the technician knows that you are coming and can begin your service at the time that is allotted for you. The shop is quaint, quiet and impeccably clean. They have only been opened for 5 weeks now and have a small number of stations, but I like that it's not a nail "chop shop" and the technicians take their time with you and make sure that you are completely happy with your service. The owner performed my liquid gel service and I was impressed with her professional approach and gentle technique with the nail application and was careful not to drill too much on the nail bed or cause cuts along my cuticles. All of their tools were sterilized and she even had another employee help clean up in between the steps to make sure there wouldn't be cross contamination. This was the best nail salon experience I have ever had in Lakeland and I will for sure be back. I'm spreading the word, Nails Bar and Spa is the place to go! Read Less
