My stylist is April, and she is incredible - totally professional and takes her craft and the health of my hair seriously. My hair has never looked better! When my family moved here from Massachusetts, I was having a hard time trying to find another salon [after 19 years] of going to the same salon up north. I also tried two other salons before I discovered Picasso Day Spa and Salon. They did a make over of their establishment Feb 2014. I feel so fortunate to have found Picasso Day Spa and April Villarreal! Everyone who has seen me since my appointment with her has raved about how great my hair looks. She really took all the time I needed to explain what I wanted and gave me realistic expectations of what I could expect. She also spent the time to teach me how to replicate the style she gave me as well as tips on using the right products. I noticed the makeup when I was leaving and she made sure I had a card so I could make an appointment with one of the artists in that department. I don't live in the Jacksonville area. I was running late to an appointment and luckily my girl April was able to do my hair in the allotted time. She was super professional, friendly, and attended to the cut and hair color I wanted. I had an amazing experience, probably the best one I've had for cut & color! I usually am dissatisfied with my hair color bc most hairstylists lean towards the blonde. I love auburn, brown, chocolate hair and April was able to deliver it and make it look flawless! I constantly get compliments about my hair, definitely will be coming again for touch ups. I had went here the day before Mothers Day as a gift from my boyfriend which I searched and found this location well when I arrived service was great as far as being greeted and the wait time wasnt to bad but I was took to a room to get what I thought was just my threadding then to a massage but after my threading finished the young lady preped me for a facial and I was like I didn't book a facial I booked package one which was Swedish massage and manicure/pedicure and I adde...d full face threading. So the young lady came back and said she is so sorry they must to booked wrong information at front desk. So she said you be able to get your massage I was like what I had waited over a month to get this I was so excited and ready and she said I would have to come back another time oh no ma am do you know I started to cry and call my boyfriend crying the lady was like oh no dont cry and she went and found massage lady who was leaving and she said she will squeeze me in..I was then taken to massage area..I loved the massage and the threading was good and the mani and pedi was good. But I was upset that no one from front came to apologize and try and fix the issue I believe if I wasn't so upset and in tears I wouldn't have got a massage that was my mothers day gift so I was so looking forward to it. Picasso Day Spa & Salon is absolutely wonderful! I recently moved to Jacksonville from Virginia, where my mom is a stylist, so not only was I new to the area, but I'd also never had anyone else do my hair before. The whole salon is welcoming, and my stylist, Natalie, was incredible. She made me feel right at home, offered me a mimosa, and did a fantastic job with my hair! It's so nice knowing that I have a place I can trust with my mom so far away. Casey is going to do my hair for my wedding in June and I just know that it's going to be perfect. I moved back to Jax this summer and haven't had the chance to find a hairstylist/salon until now (yesterday). It's so hard to find a stylist when you're new to the area.Once I found out about Picasso I checked the reviews and did my research on whether I would go there or not. I am so glad I did!!! Danielle was unbelievably amazing! She gave me the prettiest soft white blonde I have ever had! She was so friendly, personable and yet professional! She came in early to accommodate my schedule, took her time and never once did I feel like she was rushing to get it done. Beware of Picasso Salon. I bought my wife, who has some major mobility issues, a $150 Gift Certificate online through the website. Due to health issues, my wife will be unable to use the certificate and I requested that the charge be reversed.I was told that there would be a 20% "Restocking Fee". Only an organization that cares about money and not integrity could charge a "Restocking Fee" to reverse a purchase of an electronic gift card. Keep in mind that there was NOTHING on there website about this.When I complained, I was told that they were doing me a favor since gift card sales are final. Again, there was NOTHING on there website about this. Had I been given this information first, I would have asked if someone else could use it. I think they are happier with a few bucks for no services or product.Please pass the word. Read Less

I went in for eyebrow tint/wax & a haircut and style and was not disappointed! Lucy did my eyebrows and Natalie did my hair. They are both miracle workers! I hadn't had my eyebrows or hair done in over a year. Lucy massaged my hands and arms while my tint was setting & Natalie took the time to explain what she was doing, and even showed me tips on how to style my hair! I have been to Picasso Day Spa & Salon multiple times. I have had 2 massages with Ryan & he is fantastic!! I especially enjoyed the hot stones. He is very professional & makes sure you are 100% comfortable. I have only had a pedicure once and it was just ok..probably would recommend going to a regular nail salon if you want the "works" type of pedicure. Now the best part about Picasso is my favorite & only stylist I will let do my hair.. Carl Youmann!! He is such a gem & always so pleasant to be around. I have Carl do my hair about every 6 weeks or when I just can't stand to see my roots coming in any longer. When I first started seeing Carl, I did the simple blonde hi-lites. After a couple months I decided I wanted more of the "platinum blonde" look. Since then he bleaches my roots & goes over it with a toner. It always takes right around 2 hours. He always washes, shampoos/conditions, blow dries & straightens it after & I always walk out feeling like a million bucks. It cost around $95 before tip which is equivalent if not cheaper to other places I have visited. I highly recommend letting Carl get a hold of your hair & working his magic..HELPFUL TIP: make sure you book an apt because he is often booked up and doesn't work on Mondays. Read Less

Picasso is definately as good as it gets.  Service, technical quality and ambiance are top of the line.  I have been with Picasso for 4 years and despite moving 30 miles from the beach I return to Carl Youman every 6 weeks for my haircare needs.  Carl has skills is all I can say.  I need not worry about the latest trends or styles because he does all of it, and makes sure the end result is consistent with my personal and professional style.  The receptionists are helpful, kind and call to remind you of appointments in addition to e-mail reminders.  While you wait for color to process you may find yourself striking up conversation with other guests or Picasso service professionals.  They assure you have a beverage of choice, magazines etc.  I used to lothe getting my hair done because of the time it takes.  Now, I look forward to seeing the team at Picasso and before I know it... another successful hair day!Thanks for all you do! I received a gift certificate to Picasso for a 60 minute swedish massage for Christmas. I have never had a real professional massage in a spa setting like this so I was excited. The building is beautiful, and the yound lady working the front desk greeted me warmly and immediatley asked if I would care for something to drink and then promptly brought me the water I requested in a nice glass (not the paper cup or bottle I would have expected). I filled out my paperwork and less... than 5 minutes later I was escorted by a gorgeous man named Miguel who brought me back to the massage suite and told me what he was going to do and instructed me not to hesitate to tell him if I get unconfortable. The massage was amazing. Miguel was kind, attentive, talkative, and very good with his hands. He explained his actions and how they were intended to help my problem areas. I felt totally comfortable and the massage ended with me feeling incredibly relaxed and content and eager to schedule another appointment. I will recommend this spa to all of my friends and family and I look forward to my next session as soon as I am able to set aside the money for it. The mani/pedi was FABULOUS though...seriously the best I have ever had. Almost every time I get a mani the polish chips within a day or two. I had already heard discouraging reviews about this place through people I know, yet I gave them a try anyway. It was one of the biggest mistakes I made. The horrible customer service and lousy hair style and make-up left a bitter taste in my mouth. Casey is very inexperienced in hair and make-up and will get mad at you if you make slight suggestion on how you'd like your hair/make-up to look. I will never go back to Picasso for any services. I wish I would've listened to reviews and not been willing to try it out for myself. I realize now that reviews are only meant to help prevent you from making the mistake I did. Maybe they offer some decent services, but unfortunately I was not a recipient of one.
