My experience was amazing today. I was a walk in and waited for about 20 minutes for a pedicure, eyelashes and brow wax. My tech always asked my preferences, took her time but was still efficient and always checked to make sure I liked the results. She even gave recommendations and instructions on my lashes (lash virgin). I got my nails done here for the first time and never again. My gel nail polish was coming off badly my natural nails after just 7 days.. Terrible service, came in with an appointment but they were in a rush to get me in the chair and out asap. Didn't have time to choose a color and when it came time to put the color on I asked for a light base and they didn't have one. The guy wanted to put white but I didn't like it and I asked him if he could help me but he didn't. He went off on me telling me that they have thousands of colors but not what I want. So rude, so I asked him to not put a color because I didn't like it and he goes "well then I can't help you" and started talking to his coworker right next to him in his language making remarks towards me. Modern Nails and Spa in Hollywood is the hidden gem I finally found. This place is very popular. They offered free drinks when you came in. The pedicure they did was amazing. First time I went I only got my feet done they did a horrible job polish didn't last they didn't barely scrub my foot i was better off letting my 7 year old give me a pedicure. So I said I'd never go back well my mom talked me into trying them again this time I got fills pedi and eyebrows and ALL of it was horrible I went Friday today is only Monday my gel polish is already chipping off every time I get gel polish they normally put a base coat of clear he did not and he put 3 layers of polish on my nails and then the clear coat they look horrible so then I told him it had bubbles in the polish he said he will fix it he drilled the bubbles and put clear polish over it HORRIBLE. My pedicure he broke my toes nails and just painted them so when I got home I realized he didn't glue it or anything to try and fix it I am beyond aggravated already with my horrible pedi and horrible fills so I really didn't wanna do my eyebrows because how horrible everything else was but my mom was like oh no she will do a good job well she didn't know what she was doing because he did my eyebrows and kept rewXing the same spot I'm like ok my skin is burning now she gives me the mirror and my eyebrows were completely messed up nowhere near even so she was like I need some help one moment I'm like wth so another lady comes to fix them. As soon as I walked in, I already fell in love with this nail salon. There wasn't that very distinct "nail salon" odor that burns your nose hairs off! The atmosphere was so nice and so we're the employees! They were all so attentive as soon as I walked in. They have such a wide variety of colors to choose from. I personally went for a manicure. The process wasn't painful at all and the outcome was absolutely stunning. I'm very cautious when it comes to trusting people with those little powered files because some people don't even pay attention to how close they are filing towards your skin! I am traveling the country, currently, and really needed my nails done today... I had a busy day and most places were closing. Modern Nails took me in right away, and were SO accommodating. Hannah did my nails, and I am extremely picky about my nails. She was quick, served me wine the whole time, and made my satisfaction her number one priority. I am in MANY nail salons because I travel full-time, and this trip was such a great experience. I had a fill-in and gel polish, and a gel polish deluxe pedicure. They even threaded my brows for me. Hannah's sister did my brows. I am going back in 2 days for a facial, brow tint, and eyelash extensions. They are so sweet and attentive. Hannah is so so sweet, she pays attention to detail, and she truly wants to do a great job and make her clients happy. I highly recommend her. Next trip, I will be doing the dip powder, which has become my new favorite, but a lot of places still don't offer it. Modern does. DONT go to this place if anything go to the nail salon at the next plaza at least ! Or go to q nails in cooper city BEST place ever . This place is terrible cookie did my acrylics and omg they where so weak one pop off the next day I kindly go in and ask if she can fix it she tried to charge me 5$ at the end for one nail that came off in less then 15 hours wow! Then she said its my fault ? How I got my nails done from other salons even bad salons and never fell off like that! Then she told me never come back! How rude ! I only came here cause it was closest to my house my mom warned me not to come here .... My moms friend that died came here a while ago she was in a wheel chair and had stage 4 lung cancer and cookie screamed at her because she was in a wheel chair and said she's not doing her nails cause to much work and she's not helping her get up ... Horrible customer service I did not come out with the length nails I wanted and I did not realize how short they really were till I left because I had somewhere else I had to go, but not even an hour after I left I called to make a complain about the length and the fact that I was charged 5 more dollars for a long length with the shape of nail I want, but yet the length was is not even long to be considered long much less be charged 5 more dollars. The length is like a normal nail but only have a ballerina shape. But I was told they can't do anything because I already left and I should of debated with them about it first. When in reality I wasn't asked about it from them. And when I tried calling back literally 1 minute later to ask if i can come in and ahe cantake a look at it but I was told that the Manger left. I've been there four times and seen three different nail tech. All of them doing horrible jobs by leaving bubbles in nails, missing spots, way more. Also, they put the fake nail way on top of your real nail so that you'll have to get another full set sooner instead of coming back for refills. I will never return. See pictures for proof. My nails are obviously not the same shape/size but when I asked him to fix them, he responded "only you and I know" furthermore, I was charged $25 when all I received was a fill in, priced at 13+ on their board. Don't waste your money or time. I really like this place. The technicians are very good, attentive and I love how they do my naisl. I ask for natural and they deliver. The place is clean, spacious and you rarely have to wait to get a technician. If you do have to wait it's a couple of minutes. A friend of mine took me here because I'm always complaining that my nails don't even last a week . Not to mention If I do the gel layer . So I decided to check out the reviews after entering the establishment, under the impression that I would receive less than quality service. Much to my surprise, I liked it! I've lived in this area for about 10+ years and have been going to Elite Nails on university and johnson and figured it was time for a new salon, because elite nails always makes me wait, regardless if I have an appointment. So I walked here on a Saturday afternoon, albeit the busiest days for nail salons, and figured that I would have to wait. Nope. I walked in and was immediately brought back for a pedicure. One thing I love about this place, the decor and the space! It's so trendy and pedicure chairs are delightful. The lady who did my toes wasn't the friendliest, but she was quick and did a pretty good job. I'm not particularly looking to make friends with the technicians here, I'm looking for proficiency. And she was excellent. I came back again for a french manicure gel, and again I was immediately brought back upon my walk-in. Samurai did my nails and he did my nails exactly how I like them. Not cut too short, and the white tips just nice and thick. I would say that he is my new favorite technician. So all in all, I love it here. The price is right, there's always availability, and the technicians are pretty good. I have to say I have been coming to Modern Nails for almost 5 yrs. I get my nails done almost every month. Today I went in for a fill & pedicure. I have never had the experience I had today. It started with my pedicure. The lady literally said 1 word to me. She was so busy talking to 2 different ladies, never noticed what she was doing to my feet. Was waiting for her to cut me. Then she did my fill. Again never said anything to me, I asked her to "trim" my nails. When I tell u it was less then a half inch off my nails.. When I went to go pay she charged me $3 for the trim... Seriously??  $3 to trim less a half inch off... never was I told this. When I questioned it I was told they "usually" only charge $2 when getting a fill but they didn't even take the dollar off for me. When I mentioned all the yrs I have been coming here I have NEVER charged me for a trim they looked at me like I was crazy. Hello I think I know when I pay $40($20 for fill & $20 for pedi) and any other number.. Guess if they r going to start charging for stupid crap like that, its time to start going to the nail place 4 doors down! After my daughter and I had our feet pampered a few doors down we decided to come here. She needed a new full set and pedicure and I chose to get a pedicure as well because my polish was chipped, Once inside the place is huge, and a nice simple decor.  They sat us in the pedicure chairs and started working. Literally, they are so fast I think the entire pedicure lasted 20 minutes. Basic pedicure $20, mine was $25 because I got French. A young lady did me and a guy did my daughter. My lady whips out a fricken sand blaster like my feet were crusty or something. Seeing how I get pedicures often and had a full pedicure one week prior trust me I had no dry calloused feet. My daughter thought it was hysterical took a picture and posted it on FB. She was not laughing hard when her guy did the same thing to her. LolLong story short, this place makes you feel like you stepped into a sweet shop. No quality work here. I was also concerned about the tools not being properly cleaned. The guy only put one coat of polish on my daughters toes, so they looked terrible. Her full set were uneven, not properly shaped and terrible polish job. I had originally asked about pricing on pink and white, thankfully I did not need a fill. The guy tells me pink fill $18, wow I'm thinking great price then I ask what about pink and white fill? Oh $40, say what ok so in other words just get a new full set every time you walk in the door.  Not much personality from the staff, you sit, hurry let's file do a crappy job polishing and get you out of here.
