worst experience ever. i should've gotten the name of the lady that did my acrylics. PIECE OF CRAP! WASTE OF MONEY! i got them done last week and they've already FALLEN off i am currently clipping them off because of how terrible that lady did it. while doing the acrylics that I WAS PAYING FOR she would stop doing her job walk away and do something else, were clients and your there to do your job because thats what I'm paying for so if you're gonna do it then do your frikin job correct!! never going here again. To say that this place is simply excellent is an understatement. Words cannot describe how they transformed my hair and actually my self-esteem. Not only are they Masters at their craft but they are caring wonderful people. For my first phone call to make the appointment to the whole experience at at the salon I was treated like a queen. I felt like I was the only one their even though they were packed. I literally have so much to say that I could write an essay about their m...agnificence but I really just want to keep it short and sweet. If you want to get your hair, or any beauty treatment, done professionally, correctly and with real care this is the only place you will ever go again. I personally drive 45 minutes to gey here and it's worth every minute. I am shocked to read any negative comments and I conclude that they can only come from jaded, miserable people that can't help but bring others down do their low class level. I went in to just paint my nails and toes as I waited for Shima next door to open. I Wish I could post the pictures I have of what they did to my nails. They suggested Gel polished... charge me $40 for hands and feet and I have no problem paying $100 if done right. But I have bubbles on the nails. Missing paint. I have a Blob on the side of my toe. JENN did my nails did everything very quickly so i woukd not notice the defects and being over 40 I didn't notice until I put my glasses as I got home. :( VERY VERY disappointed/ DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all... sorry! This place is the wrose place i have ever been to do my nail. Extremely DIRTY discustin .Not even friendly. The furniture fallen apart the paint old and not a lot of color  to choose from.They don't sterilize their tool. They clean the scrub that was use for the feet with the brush that you clean your hand nail with. The scrub that they use for the feet looks like they haven't change for at least    a good year or more because it was worn out to the max. This place is a garantine fungus in your nail.Should be close down and out business.If i can five a - 0 star i would. Read Less

The nail job is not particularly exceptional and their products are not fancy, but the main upsetting trait is they are very disrespectful with their service's price. I've been coming here for years and the quality of work has decreases exponentially. The only reason I come back is cause it's a walk across the street for me and I'm always hoping that they will get their sh*t together and do my nails right like they used to. The latest issue I've had was I left a $20 tip with the lady in front for TJ (and I wish I could've taken it back...) and he told me he never got it.Then I did gel nails with gel polish, and one of my nails popped off two days later. Never has that ever happened to me. I paid $55 (w/ tip) for my nail to come off in two days? When I went to get it fixed TJ really told me I had to wait to get it fixed. I had to wait. Damn, some of these review are harsh!!! I went to this salon for the first time and it was a great experience. Tracy cut and highlighted my hair - I used a coupon and no drama ensued. In fact, I called and scheduled the appointment based on the coupon deal. However, I left the coupon at my house and the price was honored regardless and in a friendly, helpful fashion. Spoke with male owner who was wearing a SamCro hat...always a plus...and he was very nice and interested ...in how I discovered the salon. My stylist Tracy was talented, licensed and did a great job on my hair. I would absolutely recommend this salon and I'm bringing my daughter in for a trim this weekend. Only cons? They have a nice refreshment area with coffee, water, snacks, etc. and I was not offered anything in the 2+ hours I was there, not even 1. upon arrival (which is standard) or 2. when I had to sit and wait for my color too process (also standard). If your going to have coffee and whatnot, offer it to the client. I honestly would not have had anything but that's not the point. That better change when I bring my 4 year old and she sees those pretzels! While not way over-priced, their nail services need to be more on track with the 50+ other nail salons in Commack if they want that to work out. I would definitely try their gel manicure and pedicure if it wasn't $50 more than my nail salon, which literally is within walking distance to this salon. Match prices and I'll make the change. Ok, I don't know how recent those other reviews are or how much the people who wrote them value their hard earned money, but this place is terrible... Truly awful. I love flare tip nails, for those of you who don't know what those are I will try to attach a photo of it. I had been to several different nail salons and showed them a photograph of what I wanted (I went to Nails by Jenny in North Miami Beach, I went to the nail salon in Pembroke Lakes mall, I even went to a Walmart nail salon). Each time I went, the nail technicians at those shops were very honest and told me that they simply didn't know how to do them and offered me something else to which I would decline. So, when I came to elite nails in Miami Lakes and a young man who worked there told me that he knew how to do the nails I wanted exactly like the photo I showed him, I was excited. Needless to say as I sat there in horror watching this young man butcher my nails and pleaded with him to please do my nails as I asked, I was met with defensive aggression unlike any other I had ever experienced while doing my nails. I nearly cried. In the end I was offered a $5 discount despite the fact that I asked to have the nails removed altogether. The attitude that I got made me feel as though I was minutes away from being jumped by a gang of Vietnamese hustlers. Save your money, save your time and, quite possibly,  save your life. Salon Von De is literally the New "Hot Spot" in Commack. The decor of the salon is something else on it's own. Very sleek and stylish. The Stylists there all seem to be very educated on the services that they are performing, and up-to-date on the newest trends. Not only are they experienced and professional they ALL have a sense of their own style (very trendy) from their clothes to the hair. I love it!!! Marissa did my Brazilian keratin treatment and I couldn't be happier! My curly hair, which changes with the seasons, is now so easy to blow out this winter. They use full OSHA ventilation when they do the process, so no worry about the chemical smell. After the keratin was applied, I got a beautiful manicure from Nadine. It lasted a full week, which never happens for me when I go to the usual nail salon. And the price was comparable. Well worth it! The salon is beautiful, too. Fastest mani-pedi I've ever had. I don't think I was there for 45 minutes including drying time, and they were packed.Better than I would've done on my own but not the best nail parlor for your buck. The place is crowded and the floor is dirty, probably because they are working really hard to get people in band out as fast as possible.They don't have a very wide selection of colors, but they do have all the classics.The lady getting her pedi next to me had what seemed to be an amazing manicurist. I wish I would've asked her name. :( I think this place is a hit or miss.Overall, I would come back if I were in a rush to get my nails done. First time here, I was a walk in and got sited pretty fast. They open on Mondays till late and there located in a good area. Staff is nice and my gel nails came out pretty good. They do a good job, the place is nice, BUT Elite Nails really needs to get it together, when I come here I feel like a stepped into Carol Mart for a Mani pedi, there is always so many people here, everyone is crammed next to each other while get serviced. I've come here multiple times.  It's okay. They're pretty fast when it comes to walk-ins. Obviously don't come in on a Friday after 5. Cause I'm pretty sure it'll be packed.  Some of the people that work there do a great job and others do a horrible job! And what I mean by horrible is I probably could have done a better job. If you decide to go just make a note of who you prefer to do your nails and always do it with that person.  The lady that does eyebrows had always done a pretty good job of doing what I ask her so I keep going to her.  They only down side is they can be a bit pushy on trying to sell you extra stuff like getting nail art or gel nails etc. Read Less
