Very good service with appointment. Don't go wo one. They say walk ins welcome but they actually pick and choose their walk in clientele. I find this outrageous, but have seen it with my own eyes on 3 occasions. Still though must give it multiple stsrs as staff is top notch and services are superb. Get prices up front. They don't post a menu because they say that every client is different. Read Less

I am from out of town.  People at this at this place were very rude and instead of saying "sorry, we are completely booked, but we will gladly give you a later appointment time". They started by saying "we don't have time" and "you'll have to come back" and started talking to each other in their language.  Not coming back here at all!!  I felt like they were doing me a favor!! I've lived in Gainesville for almost five years. I've been to countless nail salons here, but never found one that I really loved. Queen Nails is incredible. The owners are extremely nice, and it is clear that they take great pride in their work. Although the place is small, it is very clean. When I got my pedicure, my technician was extremely proud of how clean the pedicure station was, and even showed me the internals - which were spotless. My gel manicure lasted a full three weeks. Honestly the worst manicure/pedicure I have ever had. My nails looked like they were painted by a 5 year old, I wish I had taken a picture because it was that bad. My gel polish was chipping two days later. It took about 3 hours for a mani/pedi, which would not bother me if my nails had looked nice, but they didn't. They brag about how they use quality products but why would I go there if I can do a better job painting my nails myself. Read Less

If there was a way to give it no stars, trust me I would. yesterday my bride to be went in and her bridesmaids to get there nails done. This was the first time going to this business and only went because they were highly rated by a good friend. After telling the friend about the issue she told us she would never refer anyone nor go back her self. They were extremely rude and to me customer service needs to be the main focus which they acted like we needed them instead of wanting business. Walked away from her while doing her nails to do someone se's and it took her 3 hours to get finished. This isn't business. It should be shut down and I advise anyone who thinks of going to find another salon. Today one of her nails started coming off which is because there could care less about the customers. Trust and believe Monday I will call personally and solve this issue or make sure they don't get any more business and either learn from this mistake or run there business in the ground. I got a pedicure is all I got and I took my husband and he got one too the lady that did my husband's feet was really good at what she does. She was the older lady. Not my favorite nail salon I've been to in town. I recently moved and wanted to try some place closed to my new home. I didn't like off the bat that they don't take walk-ins for the most part due to their short staff (three people). I normally just walk-in when I have free time to get my nails done and don't like having to make an appointment every time. I had two different people who did my nails, as the owner said they each "specialize" in what they do. I got acrylics with polish on my hands, which I do not like. They're wider than I normally have them done and also very thin, so I'm afraid I will break them more easily. They feel very flimsy. The polish is not very clean either and could have been fixed at the end but wasn't. My pedicure was alright, nothing special and it was done pretty quickly. Overall I paid $55 plus tip, $30 for acrylics and $25 for the pedicure. I have had my nails done for less and they were better quality. I will not be returning and looking for a different salon to try next time. Read Less

Really good. Was surprised to hear him explain what he was going to do and why. He took his time with my partner and provided an awesome manicure. I had Angela and she did both my manicure and my pedicure. She was friendly, and conversational as she worked, and in the end I felt like she was more a friend than simply someone doing my nails. The quality of both the manicure and the pedicure was great. After she trimmed and filed my nails, she rubbed lotion on and then she did a wax treatment for my feet. It was awesome. Next she peeled the wax and put a clear cut on my nails and then she oiled them. She also did a nice massage as she was rubbing in the lotion. This is absolutely the best manicure and pedicure I have had in Gainesville - and I have been to three or four different places since coming here. It was also one of the best I have ever had. I stopped in today for a pedicure because I wanted to try a different nail salon. Angela did my pedicure and she was amazing! The salon is clean. Angela was very friendly and she did a great job. Best manicure/pedicure I ever received. I was never in pain while they were working on my toes or nails. The family had excellent customer service, funny and very informative. I went to Queen nails this weekend based upon the reviews that I have seen on yelp. I had a full set done which cost me $45, and when they were done they looked beautiful. But here I am three days later and four of the nails have already lifted. This is not worth $45.   I am sad to say I will not be going back because as far as I'm concerned this is the worst set I have ever had. None have ever lifted as quickly as this set has. Read Less

This was probably the best gel manicure I've ever received. The owner really knows what he is doing, and he'll be sure to tell you all about it. The sweet man does a fantastic job and talks your ear off, so it will be a very long time. But it is definitely worth it. My nails have lasted 3 weeks so far and look amazing. You have to make an appointment or you won't be taken. I'd recommend this place to anyone. I would have preferred to see a sign with the prices somewhere though. Read Less

Am I being too picky? This place is clean, which I very much appreciate. My pedicure was okay. But neither member of the couple who appear to be the owners smiled once, or even greeted me - and yet it was clear that they do have a basic command of English, and a smile surely crosses all language barriers. Maybe they were having a bad day - it happens to us all. However, I was also disappointed that, despite a lot of little bottles up their on the rack, their color selection of Opi products was very limited. . They have a sign saying they prefer people to make appointments, for which I don't blame them, and another sign reading "closed Tuesday." (I'm not sure if that is every Tuesday or just one.)  To be fair, I will give them a second try and hope to be able to add a star to my review. When I was there at 10:15 on a Wednesday morning, I was the only client, and no one else came in until 11 but based on previous reviews, I think I'll call and make an appointment next time.  (Later update - the polish started to lift after two weeks, something that hasn't happened to me in several years. Let me start by saying my manicurist was awsome. He is one of the owers and really takes his time to clean and prep the nails properly. I got shellac. He was great and my fingernails look great. His daughter did my friends nails and hers turned out just as great. This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the new girl who made my pedicure experience pretty painful. She cut my cuticles way too close to my actual skin so that the rest of the time all the products she used burned horribly.I would also add that they are very clean. Unlike other places I've been to (looking at you Tammi nails) the equipment and work stations were clean. And my manicurist washed his hands before starting my nails. I'm kind of torn, this is a good nail salon with a nice family running it. If the husband or wife does your nails, and the wife or daughter does your pedicure, it's usually great. Today, though, I had a pedicure done by a new white girl. First she is not very friendly, doesn't tell you when to move your foot, take it in our out of the water, etc. And her hair was hanging on my feet/legs. She barely cleaned under my toenails, did no shaping, and did absolutely no scraping of the dead skin on my feet. In fact, the bottom of my feet are still rough. Then the polish job was horrible. I could have done better at home myself. If not for the massaging chair it would have been a complete waste of money. Then I got home and realized I've been running other errands with wax still on the side of one foot. I have been loyal to this place but lately my nail fills have been only okay, different lengths, crooked, and polish not completely covering the nail... If I go back it will only be for fills. I'm never taken at my appointment time anymore, last visit I sat for 45 minutes before I was called over to sit on the chair to start my nails. I never make my appt on a day I have to work or have another appt within a couple hours, because I never know how long it will take. Part of that is because the husband takes his time and does the cleaning up of the nails and then the fill well. OMG - where do I start? As a licensed cosmetology professional I am very cautious when I go into nail salons because they don't follow state law regarding sanitation and you ask them to do one thing and they do what they want to do. Totally not the case at Queen. Henry took the time to listen to me about how I wanted my nails done, then he repeated it back to me to let me know he understood me and then explained to me how he was going to do it. A+ in my book. I recently got married and decided to get pink and white acrylics.  Four weeks later I remebered why I dislike acrylics; they destroy your nails.I looked through many reviews and found Queen's Nails.  Angela was my tech and she did an amazing job!  This is how a nail salon should be, customer centered and customer driven.  Angela took her time doing my nails and suggested shellac; a much better option than acrylics.  She is very knowledgable about her profession and very friendly.If you want your nails done correctly go here!  I will definately go back and bring my friends with me. The service here is outstanding: meticulous, clean, and conscientious when it comes to assessing skin types and nail thicknesses before work begins. As proof of the superior quality of everything that the owners provide for their clients, they use an appointment system and end up turning away business on high traffic days. I am glad to schedule ahead, because the manicures easily last two weeks before they start to show wear, and the pedicures last even longer. I have tried several other places since moving to Gainesville, and Queen Nails is the best. I came here to get my nails done before my wedding, bringing along 4 family members and my maid of honor. We outnumbered the staff by a few people, but the owners were friendly and accommodating. The equipment is all clean and well-maintained, and the prices are very reasonable. Plus, while I normally destroy nail polish within a couple days of application, my nails still look fantastic 5 days later. This is definitely worth the drive to the edges of Gainesville. Read Less

The ONLY place in Gainesville that I will get my nails done.  The place is family owned and operated and they will always take care of you.  Since moving to a new location (a few doors down from the old place) they now have fewer spa chairs, because of this it's really important to call for a reservation.  I got a shellac manicure and it lasted almost 3 full weeks.
