Absolute GREAT experience at Royal Nails today. I went in for a gel manicure ($27) and ended up opting for the powder dip nails ($35) instead and so glad I did. It was tptally worth the extra few bucks. Romeo was an amazing technician and even described every step of the process. He and the other techs were great to conversate with as well. Walked in today and recieved no greeting when walking in. Sat down for a full acrylic set...still no greeting. Then the tech begin to place the tips on placing only one on straight. When I pointed out they were crooked, I was told it was my nails that were off/crooked. Mind you I've had other techs do an acrylic set with ease. Worst place, conniving and lack of customer care is mind boggling.  I went in with my 9 year old daughter and asked for a pedicure and just paint my daughters nails.  Typically most salons will just paint them for half a manicure.  She came over and asked if she could have a design I said sure thinking a few extra bucks.  Two little snowflakes why not.  Well then my tech asked if I wanted something on my toe too.  I said yes thinking a little something on one too-see picture. Well she proceeded to paint an odd black and white thing on all toes.  She seemed sweet and I figured I could repaint them at home. WELLL they charged me an extra 18  That made it 55 for a sub par pedicure and  for the childish thing on my toes and 20 for a child's nail polish painting.  When i questioned they gave me $8.00 back for what i don't know.  The place was not overly clean and I had hesitation.  The tech who had my daughter could not be bothered to speak to her until she tried to rack up extra costs and she was supposedly the "manager"  My tech was sweet and i am pretty sure the "manager" told her to charge me extra.  Right before this another customer walked out angry not sure why but I am not surprised. When I first came in a guest with an appointment was snapped at for being not early enough to get a pedicure first.  Like it mattered, they were not busy.   Do yourself a favor go less than a half a block to the other two places.  I regret my impatience. I have been going to Royal Nails for years and have always been very happy and If for some reason I am not they are happy to fix anything. My whole family frequents this place: daughter, sister, and mother. I have also referred numerous people and they also have been happy with there service. As a licensed beauty professional, I am INCREDIBLY picky about my nail salon, and I must say they knock it out of the park. They are very good about making sure all services are sterile (with single-use plastic liners for the pedicure tubs, and packaged single-use individual pedicure sets for each client), and my acrylic pink-tones French nails are gorgeous (and solid) for a reliable two weeks. I currently work a server, and I beat my hands (and nails) to a pulp; so if these acrylics can handle my lifestyle, they can handle anything. Only once have I had a crack, and the owner did not charge me to repair it. Honestly, it was my fault (got it wedged beneath a metal shelf at work), but no questions asked, and zero charge (I did, of course, still tip). I have only seen Benjamin for my acrylics, and I would prefer not see anyone else bc he has done an amazing job thus far, however since they guarantee their work for a solid two weeks I would be willing to try another technician. Their gel polish on my toes lasts the entire month, and my feet look just marvelous (thank the lord! nasty feet are ) prices are reasonable, and all employees are professional, quite friendly, and loquacious in English, which is a bonus!  definitely my go-to place. Holly did me justice today. I went in Sunday as a walk in for a pedicure and a new full set. I wasn't happy with my acrylics. So I figured I'd just deal with it for 3-4 weeks and go somewhere else next time. Then Monday after being at work for a few hours I realized how unhappy I was. I then did something I don't usually do and called back and asked for them to be redone. I wasn't available until today (Wednesday) and I went in at 11. She listened to what I said, asked me what I wanted and even made a suggestion to try hologram chrome for my nails. It was $15 more than what I originally paid for but it was SO worth it. I also brought my co worker with me and another nail tech took care of her pedicure and she said she enjoyed it. I feel like a lady with proper nails now and I can't stop smiling. I am giving it 2 stars because the place is clean. But I tried this place out twice and they are not the best. Messed up my nails both times and this past time I went when I walked out they accused me of not paying and never greeted me in the first place. Not very friendly at all. Read Less

Stopped in with a friend cuz it was time for my bi-monthly pedicure, He had been here before and is his preferred spot. Wed sat in the first two chairs, and his was only massaging in one mode, so we switched, No one had shown me where to pick apolish, and they were all behind the counter, so I waited until midway through the pedi to be asked, and was brought a few shades of pink to choose from. I have to say that Romeo was very efficient and through with cleaning, buffing and polishing nails. And there were quite a few customers, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that the people who were working there knew something we didn't about the smells, as at least half of them had face masks on.And frankly, there was a pretty strong chemical like smell to the place. Also chairs that didn't work, some with duct tape, and after I was done, put on some weird orange foam flip flops kind of things and dried my nails under a cabinet with air...I notices that the flip flops had a coat of dist grime on the bottom. I'm not a stickler for clean, but hey, this is a place where hygiene should be of the utmost importance. The gauze draping over the pedi chairs seemed as if it needed a good wash, and the bathroom had no toilet paper and was more like a storage place.With so many other places around, I would not come back here, even though I was very satisfied with the pedi, the environment was not up to par. Second visit for a mani-pedi.  Horrible.  He never filed my toe nails and one week later, they look gross.  Gel Manicure is "piling up" around every cuticle and it looks like I did my own nails.  He was in a rush to help the next customer that came in without an appointment and didn't bother to massage my hands with lotion.  Not the cleanest salon.  My first visit, they took out all newly sanitized instruments.  Second visit, nothing.  Find a different place. Walked in without an appointment and was politely greeted. That was the good part.Next a young woman approached me while I was selecting a polish and I asked her opinion on what was new or trendy (you'd think they would know) whereas she replied with a snippy I dont know and barked chair 6.  I quickly grabbed a polish and she proceed to give me a mediocre pedicure. The chair only functioned in one mode. Next, she stared at me the whole time (glared?) and I felt so uncomfortable I didn't wait for dry time. I tried smiling but she just stared. Thinking it might be a language barrier or a cultural thing I mentioned something about the tv. She replied in perfect English. ??? wth. There are better places who value their customers more. Two stars instead of one because the fish tank was nice. But needed someone to add water to it. Read Less

I have been visiting this nail salon off and on for over 3 year for quick/inexpensive/friendly service and everyone has been nice until the experience I had this weekend. I went in for a manicure/pedicure. The pedicure was fine, and the employee was cordial. Once I was moved to another staff member for a Manicure...it turn from good to ugly. I'm an Indian woman with dark skin. First thing this young employee ask me was, "Why are you not wearing your blanket on your head?" I gave it some thought and figure he may need to be educated on Muslim culture and told him the proper word for it. After that conversation he continued to call it a Blanket, and began to laugh. This place has potential. The space is pretty big and they are clean. They even have discounts on mani and pedis on certain days. However, I love thorough pedicures and manicures and for lack of a better term the did a half ass job. This is SW FL so that means I am wearing flip flops everyday - the exposure makes my feet gross and anything less than an exemplary pedicure is not ok with me. You're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I'll admit I judged this nail salon by its exterior. It's kind of uninviting-- since its front windows are covered by floor to ceiling signs. Inside, it's certainly no exotic spa-- but it gets the job done well and affordably. When I first moved to South Fort Myers, I was somewhat overwhelmed with how many nail salons there are to choose from. But about two weeks ago, it was time for a mani/ pedi... so I decided to test out Royal Nails. I'm was pleasantly surprised! The basic manicure/pedicure is $30. I'm happy to report that while they're quick-- they are not trying to rush you out the door. I decided to be fancy and try out shellac for the first time. (I got a French manicure so my total was $50). While most of my happiness should perhaps be directed at the brilliant creators of shellac-- I'll continue to sing the praises of Royal Nails. Tomorrow will be two weeks since I got my nails done and am happy to report-- they still look great! I've also had good experiences with their eyebrow waxing. It's nothing special, but its clean, efficient and just $8. I'm glad Royal Nails made my search for a salon simple-- now I don't need to test out any others! Read Less
