I came here for a Jelly pedicure that cost $45. While I was getting my toes done I realized the jelly powder they put in the water was not working properly. So I told Ann. She drained the water and put a new powder in the water. I asked her for a Moon and Nails pedi. After awhile I realized that she didn’t use the right products on me for what their menu stated was that type of pedi. She stated the menu was only a month old and apologized. I don’t know if it’s bad enough that I had to tell her about her job or the fact that the pedicure was very disappointing. I only got maybe 3 mins of massage on each foot. And a few creams and I needed up paying $60 for this supposedly “spa” pedicure. What a waste of my $ and more importantly time. I told the male owner I was very disappointed, the fact that every other salon I have gone to puts a timer on and you get extra time for massage if you get a spa pedicure. And he didn’t seem to care. We went and got our nails done. HORRIBLE experience. The ladies we got did not know what they were doing. They filed our nails SO short. The lady who did my nails cut them to a point. My mom's friend got an infection in her nail from their poor work. They filed the top of our nails and made them weak. When I moved even the slightest bit, the lady yelled at me. I went for a pedicure today and I met Carla and Shirley and they were both amazing, funny, caring ,smart and their standard of service is the highest that I've experienced and I'm not one to do pedicures often but I will now because I was so well taken care of. The salon is beautiful, it's clean, just awesome compared to what I've dealt with in the past. I have been going to Moon & Stars for years now and I have always felt so much at home when I go into the salon. All the techs know you whether they have worked with you in the past or not. I usually have Karlene do my nails but if she is not available then I have been with Josh or Sharon. All the techs there do a marvelous job and I give them all 5 stars. It use to be when you made an appointment that the manager would send out a confirmation email and then another the day before, just as a reminder. As busy as I am that is a big HELP! The salon seems to have a new manager now and she does not do the emails, so once you make your appointment you have to keep up with it yourself or you will miss your time. That happened to me on my visit before last and Karlene called to let me know that I was suppose to be there and I informed her that no emails were sent so I had the days mixed up. So the emails are a nice reminder. The last visit was this week and when I called to make my appointment I asked for Josh and was told that he was not there that day but that someone else was available. What the lady should have said was that Josh is not here today but is here this day and would you like an appointment then, instead of trying to push you off on someone else. I did not want that person as I had asked for Josh. so I asked when Josh would be in and was told so made an appointment for that day. I made my appointment on Tuesday, & I was told that a reminder email would be sent and it NEVER arrived. Fortunately I remembered the date and time and everything was great as usual. What a great experience I had a couple weeks ago!  I went for a mani pedi with no appointment and they accommodated me within an hour.  Shirley is awesome with her work and personality!  Shirley gave a great manicure and pedicure, and her friendliness  made me feel relaxed and spoiled.  She did an awesome job.  I can't remember the owners name, maybe Corina?  The owner took the time to show me around and let me know the other services they offer and was a delight.  I'll be back and looking forward to it! I have been going to Moon and Stars for years. I have used Josh as my technician. If he is not available, I have used Sharon. There has always been a friendly, warm family feeling at this nail salon. However, since the new owners have taken over, the vibe is so different. No longer is there a warm family feeling. Leslie who used to greet you at the desk with her great smile is no longer there. What a major loss to not have her at the desk and as a manager. She was replaced by someone who is not as friendly. She does not have the style and warmth that Leslie had. The technicians are all great. There is some level of tension that I sensed the last time I was there. I give the technicians 5 STars but the new management 2 stars - so therefore 3 stars total. Had a not so great mani/pedi experience. The tech was answering the phone and arguing with other techs during the 1 hour and 45 minutes I was there! Took forever and cost $46 for a basic mani/pedi. No gels, french or anything fancy. Felt stressed out when I left. Won't be going back! Read Less

Very friendly receptionist.  I'm from out of town, searched yelp for a place close to where I'm staying and found Moon and Star.  They fit me in during this busy holiday season.  Josh is the one who did my nails.  It was refreshing to have someone knowing what they were doing.  Even though we were pressed for time, I didn't feel rushed and he did an exceptional job.  A little pricey for a two nail fix and color change, but it was worth it!  He reshaped the nails and made it like I had a whole new set on!  Great conversationalist, friendly, funny, and made the entire experience enjoyable .  I highly recommend this place. They are also having an end of year celebration on the 27th from 3-9pm with champagne and trials of their services for free.  I hope to make it! Read Less

I haven't had a regular nail salon in years. My prior tech relocated so bouncing to whichever salon was closest became the norm.  Yesterday, I had a few UNUSUAL hours free and decided to splurge. Reviewed Yelp and found Moon and Stars.... what a happy surprise!I was greeted with friendliness despite walking in without an appointment. A pedicure and eyebrow wax was requested. I was immediately introduced to Victor who took over my salon experience. He gave me a tour of the spa/salon and updated me on many services that were offered. Victor took time to sculpt my eyebrows to perfection. He realized my sensitive skin reddens easily and used finesse to lessen the inflammation. For someone that is used to having half her eyebrows yanked off in 60 seconds by a disinterested technician wielding wax like a weapon, it was truly appreciated! Normally, I groom my upper lip but his professionalism convinced me to allow him to do it all without hesitation.The pedicure was heavenly. The daily elements can attack feet that are in sandals often. My heels and sides had layers of dead skin that were rough and unsightly. Victor gave extra attention to the problem areas and left my feet ultra-smooth. I found myself zoning out during the pedicure because the experience was so relaxing!Prices are higher than your hole in the wall salons. However, you are treated as a valued customer and don't leave there feeling the techs were talking about you the entire time in an unfamiliar language. The salon is pretty. They offered me a variety of drinks (tea, cucumber water, etc). That's as good as it got.You have to pay for parking. It's metered.I got an overpriced, crappy gel mani and regular pedi by Bea. She took over two hours.I told her I wanted to sit and read during my mani/pedi, and she continued to ask questions and try to start conversation. I don't get my nails done at a salon very often, but when I do I expect it to be a delightful treat with fun, vibrant manicurists; juicy, hilarious gossip and people watching; and brightly colored, snazzy nails with freshly buffed and polished feet. I got alluh this and then some at Moon and Stars!They squeezed me in. I love and appreciate this so much when it happens. I know they have all their regulars with standing appointments and such, but when a girl needs to get her feet did, I sincerely appreciate the hustle and effort to make that happen. Great service up front and throughout my whole visit.And then there was Josh. So darlin' with the longest eyelashes I seriously have ever seent. Yes. Seent. The jealousy won't end over here, but honeys Josh took the best care of me and we had us a good time gigglin', snickerin' and chattin' it up. It really is a fun bit of therapy to have someone hold your hands and feet and talk to you isn't it :)To top it off I got the snazziest style! I couldn't decide between two colors, hot coral and gold glitter, and I'll be darned if Josh didn't just merge the two giving me a hot gold overlay! I've visited Moon and Stars twice now after reading such glowing reviews. This morning I had a mani/pedi done by Sharon and it was one of the best experiences I've had thus far at any nail salon. Sharon was so meticulous in every step of my manicure and pedicure. I've never had anyone manicure my cuticles the way she did this morning. The polish looks great, the filing is perfectly even throughout. The salon itself is a nice atmosphere - better than what you will find at your average run-of-the-mill nail salon. Moon and Stars is AMAZING!!! I visit Fort Lauderdale about 3-4 times/year from Canada, and head straight to Moon and Stars for my vacation mani/pedi. I have very difficult ingrown toenails which are painful- the staff here (especially Leticia) treat my toes with such care that they could be foot doctors.  No pain, and they do not cut out unnecessary nail when they don't have to.  My boyfriend came with me and he is a former athlete who has never had a pedi- he said that this was the most enjoyable experience and his feet have never looked/felt better after Moon and Stars signature "shiny buff" for men.They are perfectionists, and so am I! They leave my nails perfect- evenly shaped, no excess skin/cuticle and the polish is perfectly applied.  If I ever have a request they accommodate it with pleasure.I also have had a facial and massage here, and the spa is INCREDIBLE! So relaxing, effective and affordable!  They use the best products and the aesthetician an RMT are experts.The staff are so genuine and friendly- they always offer a beverage and ensure the visit is exceptional.  I leave feeling like I had a spa experience except for the prices.  They are the most affordable in the city.You can tell a place is good when there are so many "regulars".HIGHLY recommend Moon and Stars. Always nervous about trying a new nail salon, I did what millennials do and ran to the interwebs to see what the word was. I was relieved to find a nail salon so highly rated, I had to go and check it out for myself!I enjoyed my experience, got a mani-pedi and it was very affordable. Everyone was nice and made me feel comfortable, even though it was my first time at this salon and I didn't make an appointment. (I highly recommend making an appointment, they seem to have a very regular and loyal clientele.) They serve drinks, which always enhances the experience. I didn't partake, but probably will next time! The staff was skilled and very diverse. The overall atmosphere was modern and clean. I am glad I found a go-to mani-pedi spot!
