Hot wax burns and pink eye!!!! I was in desperate need of an eyebroslw was and stopped into Harbour Nails for a quick wax. When the the woman applied the wax to my eye rows I helped in pain because it was so hot. She ignored my obvious discomfort and continued. After the wax she applied a gel that burned my skin even more (to the point that I cussed out loud).. I was told the burning would stop and it would be fine.. Well 2 hours later the burns were worse than ever and have now scabbed over.. But the icing on the cake is the very next morning I woke up with a severe eye infection and after a visit to the doctor found put it's pink eye! Needless to say I will never ever go back to Harbour Nails for any services; a $10 wax has now cost me $200+ dollars and the possibility of scars on my face.. Read Less

My dear friend and I were desperate for pedicures later Sunday afternoon. I don't know why this place has such low ratings but not only did they see both of us when 2 other places already refused us before closing, we got great pedicures and I had foot massage unlike any other I'd ever had. The tools are sanitized and packaged separately prior to use. The *only* reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because they don't use tub covers in their pedicure tubs. I have been going to Harbor Nails and Blowdry Salon since inception.ALL the negative reviews are right on the mark!Kim, the owner has  absolutely no loyalty for her long term, local , year round reliable customers.... it might be a walk in salon but she takes appointments and does not honor them or her loyal customers!John, a family relative, should be the business owner... reliable, forthright, upstanding and a wonderful technician and problem solver for the customers.Angel, also a technician there had to do my nails twice in one setting and finally made them bleed she filed them so much. I never complained as she did a great job on the pedicures and Everyone eventually has a bad day. They are rushed to do their jobs and forced to take walk- ins even though appointments are clearly on the books!After 10 years of forgiving, forgetting and waiting I am done... no more patience for shoddy work and being put aside! Very sad commentary for a business owner in our community.Hair technicians were good but again, don't bother with an appointment! I called around 3pm yesterday looking to get a dip manicure & was told I could come right in. When I got there Ann took care of me right away. Everything went Down hill from there. She didn't use enough remover to get the polish off & she didn't leave it on long enough. Now she starts drilling it off instead of adding more remover & wrapping again. During this process she cuts me with the sanding tool! After powder is applied she has not applied it properly & she is trying to dig into the polish to break it away from my skin on the same finger that she cut me. I tell her she is digging into my skin & she just moves on to the next finger, no apology given. I don't usually take the time to do reviews, but I have to for this. I've gone twice here as I don't actually live in Florida but come down to visit family usually around 2x per year. Over Christmas I had the opportunity to get an appointment for my hair with Cecilia and she did a color, style (which is the best cut i've had in forever. It feels like she just did some amazing magic because all of a sudden I had wonderful shape to my long hair which I have been growing back out. She did a karatin treatment as well and here it is over 3 weeks later and I still can't stop staring at my hair and I'm able to run my hands through it as it's so soft. I never wore it down because it was so frizzy and now it's beautiful. I will absolutely fly back to visit family and schedule my hair appointment when I'm down there. Amazing!!! Read Less

I do not know what happened to Harbor Nails,I have never had a worse manicure, within 2 days the polish was off, it is obvious that they thin the polish and I seriously question if "Mae" was ever licensed or trained. They do not use new files.  Total waste of money. Read Less

Was in here for a full set and a pedi both of which came out great, but I found out they did cluster eyelash extensions so I decided to get them.  I love them! It was $40 and took about 25min, and angel did a great job.  This was my first time ever getting extensions, and I'll definitely be back. Read Less

I went in for a fill, was told it would be a 5 minute wait, they took about 15 minutes. One guy said he would just take my polish off then I would move to Ann in the seat next to him. He cut me at least 3 times removing my gel polish. Then it was Ann's turn... she cut me on every nail with the drill. It seemed like her first time putting the acrylic fill on. It was bumpy and uneven. However, I didn't say anything because I know you can usually smooth it out. She didn't. She didn't shape the nails. She went over my cuticles with the drill three separate times, with three different drill attachments, hence the cuts. Finally she told me to go wash my hands, and I asked - what about all the olive green color of my old polish she left on. GO WASH. Ok. So she tried to smooth the green off and failed to do so, put the clear sparkly polish over it (the gel color selection was horrible). The gel polish was on my actual fingers as well, so quickly that popped off and I have some half assed bumpy irregularly shaped sparkly dirty green nails. Read Less

This one star review goes out to Chris the hairstylist that I had no interactions with until he dared to make appalling comments about my weight, CALLING ME ANOREXIC to my cousin who he was working on. Lala and John were fantastic 10/10. I came in the salon, never addressing a word to this man. He took my cousin to wash her hair and that's when the high school girl came out of him. He had the nerve to tell my cousin that me and my other cousin were "bitches", yes he said we were bitches to my cousin lol I mean where is the professionalism? He takes a good look at me and tells my cousins "especially her, I don't like her. Look at her she is so skinny, she looks ANOREXIC and I know she definitely makes herself throw up, I have friends that are like that and let me tell you that's what's going" WOAW WHAT?! Mind you this whole time I have no idea why my cousin is crying on her chair. Then he starts making comments about my cousins hair "you want your hair to be long but you look dumb walking around with these dried ends OMG". Listen you're a hairstylist, I get you have to advise your clients on what's good but looking at your clients hair in a conspicuous manner like you can't work on it because of the damage and making those types of comments repeatedly, unacceptable; just get her hair straight, shut up and do your job.  My cousin was fed up and wanted to leave, not even stay to get her nails done. Finally, my cousin tells me what happens and let me tell you I WAS FURIOUS! There was no way I was going out of this place without teaching this man a lesson, and I did- I stood up for what was right. I've gone out of my way to come here for years. I've even come with a bunch of girlfriends as part of my bachelorette party. During my last visit the nail tech was presumably not paying attention and/or going too fast and cut high up into my cuticle. It was extremely painful and there was blood until she put some drops and applied pressure. When it came time to pay, I expressed that I didn't feel I should have to pay full price. I would never say I refuse to pay entirely, but I felt that I shouldn't pay the same price for what is normally a pampering, pain-free activity. The owner was not in the least bit sympathetic and blatantly stated "it happens", so I said that I won't be back.  Yes, of course I've been nicked before and I understand it happens, but this felt worse than the average cut.  When I asked for them to break a 10 so I could give the tech a tip, she told me if I was unhappy with the service and not coming back, I don't need to tip. This made me feel really bad for the tech who just spent 1.5 hrs on me and did an otherwise good job. So, long story short, I will not support a business with a policy like this towards customers and their employees- especially when there are a dozen other nail places to choose from! Read Less

The Service here is terrible. I made a reservation with susan, waited twenty minutes and she still wasn't available. I had to be somewhere so I settled for Anna which was a huge mistake. I've bee a regular customer for several years, and I always leave happy!  Because of my occupation, it's not easy to make my nails look good, but they do it, every time!  Pedicures are awesome with the comfortable massage chairs.  I've used their Blowdry Services and they do a great job with that too!They always make me feel welcome, and Kim the Manager greets everyone by name and somehow knows exactly what everybody wants.They offer great service I'm a very relaxed atmosphere.I'm a very happy customer! Having lived in the area for some time I am quite familiar with the salon choices near by and I think I've tried them all at one time or another!Harbor Nails and Blow Dry is by far and consistently ( this is key in a salon) always accommodating, clean and has an offering of great technicians that I can make an appointment any time and be happy with the service I receive.I must admit I'm partial to Kim the owner because she is a doll and makes the time fly while doing my nails! This is a great salon! I have been going here for years, probably 7 years to be exact.   They offer a wide variety of services in addition to nails and blow dry,  if rhey don't offer, just ask or look around! The owner is always bringing in NEW products which is nice and they also support the community and local charities, I have been to several events they have hosted, as well as a few customer appreciation events.They are a pretty busy salon as they are on the main drag '17th Street' but, they have always squeezed me in when I needed. The staff is eager to make my experience wonderful, even when I'm in a hurry! If I'm not happy with a nail or 2, I let them know and they fix it! Awful service. These people are SO RUDE. I must admit I came a little late, 30 minutes before closing and they denied me service for something that I could have fixed with the nail polish. This rude man didn't even look at me he just shouted CLOSED. When I walked out they laughed and JUST SAT THERE. If I went anywhere else they would have fixed it. The quickest pedicure I've ever gotten....and I was not in a rush. By the time I sat down and got the pedicure the woman next to me was still getting her legs massaged. They also told me the nail polish I chose (not a gel) was going to be an extra $7.....no signage about that. One of my toe nails wasn't actually really cut that much either after I repeatedly asked for them to be cut short. The only reason I went there was because they were open until 6 on a Sunday. My girlfriend introduced me to the concept of getting pedicures. Dude, it's not something I would have done on my own. I used to run marathons and now am down to the 3-5 mile at a time runs. Regardless, the callouses under my heel and the ball of my foot practically required a car paint sander to dismantle. That was nearly five years ago. Now I am a regular at the place and totally enjoy the social aspect of going there. The ladies who work there are awesome and the girlfriends and wives of other dudes are fun to talk to as well. .. the place is clean and nice but the prices are a rip off!! I went in and requested to get the "no chip/shellac" polish on my finger nails and toes with a regular mani and pedi and she charged me $80.00!!!!! THAT'S A HUGE RIP OFF!! high class day spas charge only $45 for the same thing !!! Ridiculous!!!! At harbor nails a regular mani and pedi is only $40 so just to put a stronger longer lasting nail polish is an additional $45.00.....I'M SORRY THAT IS REALLY RIDICULOUS!!! Read Less
