Long lasting gel!I've been to Cool Nails three times and I definitely recommend them. The salon is updated, clean and organised. The nail techs are friendly and speak English well. The last time I went, Lin helped me, she was very thorough and took her time doing a nice job. My gel manicure (photo posted) and regular pedicure is now two weeks old and still looking good. Beware! This place DOES NOT sanitize their tools. If you get an infection after reading this, you were warned! Many reputable people I know go to this salon so I decided to try it. The nail tech had just finished a pedicure and was coming to her station where I was sat for a manicure with her basket. She literally tried to take out the already used tools and use them on me! When I demanded she use a fresh sanitized pair, she took the tools and placed them I a fake already been used (the corners were wilted and rust colored) sanitation sleeve. I really like this nail salon. I've been going for over 7 years. There is rarely a wait and I always get great service. I tend to get the gel manicure and pedicure. My gel last around 20 days which is way longer than most places. The color selection is good for both gel and regular polish. I highly recommend Michelle, Amy or Christine however I have never had a bad experience with anyone who works there. Read Less

If you are looking for quick transaction of polish being slapped on your nails in 10 minutes for a bargain price, this is not the place for you. If however, you have 30-45 minutes to spend getting a bonafide manicure, then this is your new favorite spot. Driving by on US1, there is nothing about the location, marquis or moniker that would let passers-by know this is the real deal. If however, you happen upon it out of sheer luck because your dermatologist office is next door, you will find a staff that is courteous, professional, clean and well-spoken. The technicians do not seem rushed or stressed and they put in extra touches to produce the kind of quality manicure that will last more than the 48-hour abortions you'll get at most storefront salons with questionable names. I have now been three times, and served by three different people, and have yet to be disappointed. OK, tbh, it looked like the nail drying station hadn't been wiped down since Xmas - but other than that, the cleanliness factor was more than satisfactory. I now go about 5 miles out of my way, past 20 other nail salons to get to Cool Nails because for me, quality is more important than economy when it comes to someone digging into my skin with sharp objects. I have been coming here for years and I have seen great improvement. When I first started coming here it was either a hit or miss, some of the nail techs were awesome and really cared about their jobs while others simply didn't. Recently all of the nail techs are really friendly and passionate, they have improved their hygiene and their new receptionist speaks perfect english which is very convenient. My regular place was closed as this was a last minute mani/pedi during the holidays, so I figured I would try Cool Nail since it was the only place opened in the area, the chairs were very comfortable, but the tech didn't do a great job, the edges were messy and the polish started chipping after 2 days. After searching for that "Perfect" Nail Salon I found them down the street from this Cool Nails. Then Hurricane Matthew tempted to hit our Coast at the same time I was in dire need of a Shellac Mani/Pedi. Since my Original Nail Salon was still closed due to the close call, a new search was on.. This is when I came across Cool Nails and decided they would be the back-up spot to go! Walking into the Nail Salon I was Greeted and asked what services I wanted. They had a pretty packed house but I was immediately taken to a Spa Pedicure Chair and shown the large assortment of Shellac Options! The Overall Appearance is very Bright and Clean! They use Disposable Spa Pedicure Covers for the Tubs and New/Sanitized Nail Tools! All of the employees are very friendly! My Nail Tech was nice taking her time doing my nails but lacked the Attention to Detail that my previous place had done. Leaving me with uncut Cuticles and not as sharp looking Nails. Then only after 9 Days my Shellac Nails were already starting to Peel Up and Chip. This was unexpected as my last Salon, the same Shellac lasted over a month without lifting from my nails. It's pretty simple; I come in and usually don't wait too long before I'm taken care of, however this last visit really disappointed me and I won't be going back. Lisa who took care of me this time is simply awful. My nails started chipping the very next day! She never fully cut my cuticles even after I had her several times and she cut all my nails a different length. I'm not sure what happens to this place. There used to be better nail techs. Now they are all just crabby! You'd at least expect after paying $45 including tip, you'd be able to enjoy your mani/pedi for at least a week! The place is dirty, sloppy, messy and loud. Cool Nail isn't bad, but it isn't great either.  I'm not the typical girly girl who frequents nail salons all that often.  Most of the time, I'm primping for an event or last minute soiree.  Normally my poor toes go unpolished.  My time is usually very limited so I find myself in spots that are close and convenient, even if they don't have a 5-star rating.  Cool Nails is your run-of-the-mill, no frills nail place.  Kind of reminds me of a mani-pedi factory.  You walk in, a receptionist starts yelling at you to sit down in a pedicure chair, and, within 10 seconds, someone is working on you like a piece of meat.  They stick strange plastic bags over the basin your feet sit in.  Obviously they are trying to be clean, but I think I'd prefer them using some disinfectant and a scrub brush instead of completing the pedicure and removing the plastic bag while my toes are still in the water.  Doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose?  My pedicure was actually not bad.  The technician did an adequate job and was generous with the calve and foot rub (which I wasn't expecting).  My manicure was a little less enjoyable.  I was seated at the last station in the back of the salon.  I could see into their private area which is a combination of a kitchen, closed-off bathroom and laundry area.  Would have been nice if there was a door they could shut.  Then, my poor manicurist seemed to have some issues with allergies (or dare I say cold mehhhh) and she kept sneezing and needed to stop and wipe her nose often.  Last but not least, the drying station left much to be desired.  It was the standard UV light/heated dryer.  It was platform with regular fans blowing air.  It did the job, but plan to spend an extra 10-15 minutes at the dryer to make sure you don't mess up the new polish.  I had an OK experience here and would definitely come back in a pinch.  But do not come here if you want to splurge or pamper yourself. Anna is great and Vin has the best eye for detail if you don't mind being there a bit longer...Not sure about this new receptionist... She's definitely struggling, but trying. I think this is being generous. I just left there and my nails and toes look like CRAP.I got Russian Navy gels and the same color on my toes. To say that the lady who did them was sloppy, is a large understatement. I just left with blue all over my toes and my fingers, except where the nail polish should be. When I pointed out to her that my pinky finger and my second finger were missing polish, she literally said, "okay." She did nothing to fix it! And it was clear she could not understand me, or possibly English at all.Good luck finding a good place to go to get your nails done in Fort Lauderdale. It simply does not exist. While the salon is clean, and very nice on the inside, they clearly do not care about their customers or the customer experience.Also, don't want to do your eyebrows are your walk out of there with two separate ones that don't look alike. It looks like reviewers here have brought up sanitation concerns... I just visited at the end of August 2015 and it looks like the owner must have read your comments! There were a couple of large signs hanging in the salon stating their hygiene policy. In addition to the new signage, I also noticed that they lined the foot baths with a plastic covering and that the nail techs wore gloves and were outwardly sanitizing tools in front of me. All good to see! I don't know how the place was before, but it definitely seems that the place has improved! Now about the actual pedi - great job! I needed to match a color to a dress I was wearing for a wedding and the nail tech was very helpful and matched the color for me. My toes were beautiful and the polish held up well, and is still on at the present (Sept 21). So I would recommend this place! Pricing was good, too, I believe it was $30 for the Pedi, it might have been cheaper, maybe $26, but I can't remember exactly. Read Less

I had to wait for quite some time even though I had an appointment. I watched them "clean" foot baths and was praying I wouldn't catch anything- they basically just rinse it out. Not only that, but they don't use fresh/sanitized tools. So gross.I went in for mani/pedi with gel polish on hands and feet. It ran about $70. The whole experience took way too long, they were not friendly, not clean. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 ia because I chipped my gel polish and came in and they fixed it free of charge. I went there today for a manicure/pedicure... Judging by the extreme cleanliness, and comfortable atmosphere, I assumed it would be a bit pricier than the norm... But it was cheaper!! Only $35, with the massage chair and all... All of the employees were very well-spoken and friendly, especially my nail tech, Mitchelle... With a current issue of US Magazine, and the television on E!, I was quite comfortable, and my nails came out great! All in all, a great experience. Read Less

Went home for Thanksgiving and got my acrylics refilled while there. They came out looking horrible. Left dirt under the nails and never removed lifting acrylic. So now I have visible brown and while pockets under the acrylic. Will have to get a new set, just had a fresh set applied 3 weeks ago. (Been getting acrylics for over a year) I told the nail tech she was also putting on the wrong color, ignored me and continued to apply clear when I specifically asked from pink and white, and then proceeded to charge me extra for the clear. She said the white powder was gel, I am not so sure, gels I've used in the past are actual gels not powder. Disappointed since friends have told me how great this place was.
