THANK YOU AVALON NAIL SALON! We had a large group of ladies come in for mani's and pedi's, a girls morning out prepping for a wedding that weekend. Tommy was so helpful leading up to the appointment and even offered to open early for us to make sure he could accommodate everyone. He was also really flexible as there were a lot of last minute girls who wanted to attend and the headcount kept changing. Even two more showed up the day of who didn't RSVP and they handled it with grace! There were only 4 staff members that day, but they got everyone the services they wanted and in a really timely fashion. Yes, some of us had to wait a good amount of time before it was their turn, but they were happy to wait because they received such great service. I had Kelly as my technician and I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS WOMAN! Not only was she positive and kind, her work is highly skilled!! I got my gel mani two weeks ago and it still looks amazing! The way she shaped my nails has got them to grow without breaking! Seriously, KELLY, I LOVE YOU! I would like to start by saying the fact that they have any bad reviews is crazy! I was treated with the up most respect from the time I walked through the door to the time I left. They made me feel as if I was the most important person in the room! It is really hard to find amazing people like them! Jonah was my pedicurist and I can not say enough nice things about him! Hands down the BEST experience I have ever had! He gave me after care tips, practiced reflexology on me, and put my shoes in a bag for me because I wanted to wear the flops out. I got a mani/pedi yesterday and this was one of the best experiences that I've ever had at a nail salon. I was immediately greeted when I walked in and they were more than accommodating for me being 40 minutes early for my appointment. Tommy did my deluxe spa pedicure. He was easy to talk to and very friendly. The deluxe spa pedicure includes putting your feet in bags with hot wax and a hot stone massage on your calves. It was very relaxing, especially with the massage chair going at the same time. The shellac manicure took no time at all and looks amazing! This is a family owned business with great service and prices. This may be out of the way for some people but it is worth the drive for the service alone! I have been a client at Avalon Nail Salon for over a year and have always been more than pleased with my pedicures and manicures. Kelly is incredible, she displays professionalism and creativity in her work. I have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so. I get gel nails and I love them, I will never go back to regular polish again. I recommend calling ahead for an appointment you can usually get in the day you call. I just had my first experience here and I am thrilled! The owner is a super doll. I agree with everyone's reviews: no pressure or trying to up-sell. I did not feel rushed. Kelly took her time with my nails and toes. She did exactly what I asked for. It is very clean, and beautiful on the inside and there are a ton of chairs. This would be a great spot to get several girlfriends together or get your nails done for your wedding. I am so glad this moved into the neighborhood and will be making this my new spot! Read Less

I am a fan of a clean salon and nice people. This place has both! The other nice feature is you can make an appointment. Very pleased! Love the way Kelly gives a pedi! She goes the extra mile to make you comfortable. That's not to say all the people who give pedis aren't as good, but I do like when she does mine. Also, glad to find Tommy working at this salon! i had to wait for a really long time before i got seated, i get that there are other customers but no one came up or even acknowledged that i was waiting, i honestly thought they forgot i was there. my manicure itself was bad too, i left with snagged fingernails and polish all over my fingertips (they only put on one coat of polish too!) i feel bad because the person doing my nails was very nice (gets one star for friendliness), but the job was terrible. The facility was so pretty, I loved the location and they staff were so friendly! I walked in without an appointment and they were able to see me right away. Dylan, my nail tech, did an amazing job listening to me and what I wanted and he did an amazing job! I got SNS nails done and I haven't loved my nails this much since I got them done on vacation! I went for a polish change on my fingers and toes.  Rude welcome upon entering. Technician came to do my nails and never greeted me or said hello,  just told me to sit.  My nails look like a kindergartener did them and polish was coming off within in two days.  Mind you, I'm on vacation and not doing housework,  etc., really should have lasted longer.   She stood and held my hand the whole time she slopped the polish on.  Then she left and never came back.  After 20 minutes I had to go find her so I could leave. She was doing someone else's nails. Ughh! NEVER again.  Don't waste your money.  Dirty as well.  Her implements were just thrown in a plastic bucket. Read Less

I go to Kelly she is fantastic.  I did Botha pedi and a full set.  I dropped in on a Friday I believe and she did fantastic!  I saw the kids they were darling they came in politely said hello to their family members then they left.  I think that it is sad people are so bothered by children.  Don't get me wrong let a bratty kid loose around me and see what happens.  This is not the case!  The children are very well behaved. Once I was in here with my friend and pulled up Yelp to check in, I started to get nervous with the 1 and a half star rating. But to my surprise, I didn't have the same concerns others did. The place was clean and was well organized. There was a solid selection of colors. My only complaint was my technician who did my pedicure. No attention to detail, terrible massage and no top coat. While I was under the dryer, I finally had to ask the man at the front if I could have a top coat. The technician came over saying he put one on. I explained that he didn't and he had an attitude about it. The technician is the reason I wouldn't return, not the shoppe. Read Less

I have been coming here now for a while and while not perfect, they certainly aren't as bad as the amount of negative reviews would have you believe. Not to detract from those who leave negative reviews... I'm sure their visit warranted the review given, but most of them are based on one visit. All of that said, this place is truly hit or miss. I have had great experiences, and some no-so-great. Sometimes I go and they do a great job on my mani/pedi, it's relaxing, and the people are nice and seem to care that you have a good experience. Other times I have been there and seen some of the very things that other reviewers have mentioned, such as the owner's kids running around, sometimes screaming, and the work done as quickly as possible to get the next person in and done. Perhaps not by coincidence, my best experiences have been on Sundays when they're not overbooked and in a hurry to get things done. On a Saturday afternoon, perhaps pick elsewhere because you're probably not going to be happy with the service. It shouldn't be that way, but it is. Consider yourself warned.Pros: Decent manicure/pedicures when not rushed, they take walk-ins almost any time unless REALLY booked up, conveniently located in Coconut Point where you can go shopping or out to eat before or after, prices in line with other nail salons.Cons: They sometimes rush you through, occasional kids running around and being loud which detracts from the relaxing experience, sometimes inconsistent quality of pedicure depending on who does it. I'm really regretting picking this place for my pedicure. They didn't soak the tools for the required 10 min in barbicide- only 4 min. I timed  it. I was here with my dad- after he got up and left- they sat someone else in his chair w/o even wiping the tub out. I told the girl before she put her feet in the water. Worst pedicure ever! I don't even know where to start! First the leg message.... She messaged my legs with the salt/sugar scrub. OUCH! She also did some deep tissue massage techniques to one leg but not the other. Weird!    Now for the feet..... She did NO cuticle care at all. She actually polished over my cuticles. Gross!  But the icing on the cake for me was...... Before she polished my toenails she poured the polish remover all over the top of both feet! Not just my toes. The whole top of my feet! She then dried them off with a towel. That acetone was all over my skin! She didn't wash it off! Why would anyone ever do that?!  I've been having pedicures for years and never had an experience anything like that before. I was given a gift certificate to this place for Mother's Day and when I left I had a $20.00 balance so I gave it away. I would never step foot in that place again! This place is awful, my wife went in to get her nails done with her friend, and the lady who did them was very annoyed. As my wife was about to get hers done the lady told her she was done for the night and she's going home. How unprofessional when the lady told her to come in and she'd do both. For the girls out there--you can do better. I have been going here on and off for 4 1/2 years. Yes the location is very convenient for shopping, dining and a movie however the salon is not maintaining basic standards of cleanliness and service. I do not want the owners 2 young girls running around squealing for the entire hour I am there. It is NOT relaxing--and I am a mom and no I do not hate kids. Nor is it appropriate not to practice safe hygiene. This was the last straw. The technician who really seemed she did notwant to be there did NOT clean the cuticle nipper--she carefully placed the plastic covered over the point and put it back in her tool basket. I have been suspicious of the seeming lack of hygiene in the past but looked the other way out of commence for the location. This was so blatant I couldn't--my health is more important. Looking around you can see the general cleanliness ismissing which is unfortunate because it is a great location--I can only imagine how much they are paying in rent!  How foolish not to practice good business--bad on them. I love this place! I have been coming here since I've lived in Estero (4 years). I'm actually shocked to see the bad reviews on here. I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience here. Lisa is the absolute best and I see her almost every single time. Best pedicure and the longest massage I have ever had while getting a pedicure! My shellac polish always lasts two weeks and I only have to get it re done because it is growing out, not chipping or peeling up. All the technicians are so nice and the facility is very clean. I have also had my eyebrows waxed here multiple times and they always do a fabulous job. I definitely recommend Avalon salon. Read Less

WORST PLACE EVER. I'm actually writing this as I'm getting my toes painted after a "pedicure". I walked in the door at 4:55 and it's 5:12 and he's almost done painting my nails. So with the time he took to get set up I'd say my $28 "pedicure" was a solid 10-12 minutes. I am absolutely PISSED. I feel like he completely rushed through it like he had better things to do. And they want me to pay $28 for a MAYBE 12 minute pedicure? I'll be saying something to the manager before leave, which I've had issues here before and it's been probably over a year since I've been here. And when I had issues then the same manager didn't do crap, so I'm not expecting him to do anything this time around. NEVER EVER COMING BACK!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!Update: I told the manager I was unhappy and he he started yelling at me and told me it was  my fault because I originally said to him when I walked in I wanted a pedicure with a light massage....so he was literally yelling at me and telling me it was my fault! You would think getting a mani/pedi at Coconut Pointe would be this magical and luxurious experience... NOT AT ALL.  I took my girlfriend as a treat and we ended up with the two most unprofessional, rude, techs I've ever dealt with, along with a horrible mani/pedi.  The polish wasn't done properly, it wasn't applied to my whole nail (hands or feet) and the top coat was a stripe down the center of my nails.  The polish began fading away after my first shower.  Also, I have a broken toe nail that I have acrylic applied to so to make my nail appear "normal".  After asking 5 or 6 times, I was told it was "cute" and unnecessary.  Why I would have to go back and forth about a service I wanted done and get done regularly at other salons became ridiculous.  Originally, I had requested mani/pedi and eyebrows... Thank goodness I skipped on the eyebrows.  Who knows what could have come from that?  Besides the horrible work, the tech doing my friend's pedi sat on a cell phone the whole time and my tech was just rude in general with the acrylic request and then speaking in her language to the "cell phone" tech, clearly complaining.  I would NEVER recommend anyone go there.  In fact, if someone asked me for a nail salon to go to, I would tell them, "Just DO NOT go to Avalon at Coconut Pointe".BTW:  basic mani/pedi and a French pedi for my friend: $100.00!!!!   No shellac, no massage, just polish.  RIP OFF! I can't believe this place is busy. It sucks here. And I'm sorry but $15 for UNDERARM waxing is A LOT. Especially being that not did the WOMEN not REMOVE all the f------ hair BUT she didn't even pull on the skin to make it hurt less. It was a horrible experience and expensive.. On top of it you can't understand them since they hardly speak English. I'm going to continue waxing my underarms on my own for however long it's going to take me; at least when I do it MYSELF it doesn't hurt unlike paying a so called "professional" who charges at high rates and doesn't get all the hair. The worst pedicure I have ever received. The salon was not clean. They have 'factory style' service. They try to get as many people in and through as quickly as possible! My technician rushed the serviced and even skipped a couple steps. Truly unprofessional. Please do not waste your money or time here. Absolute worst manicure I have ever had! First of all, I had to wait a additional 30 minutes then they had initially told me, then the woman who did my nails RUSHED through them, the polish not only got on my nails, but also wasn't even and covered only parts of my nail.
