Worst set of nails Ive ever had. Way too thick, sloppy and extremely overpriced. The only thing going for this place is location. The staff is neither friendly nor classically trained. I asked for ombre french manicure with pale pink and almond shaping. Tommy flat out refused to do as I asked. He had no idea what he was doing. It came out looking garish, trashy and way too pointy. The reviews of this place don't at all match the experience that I had here. First, this is not a spa. This is a "I'm a super busy, but I still need to slip in a good mani pedi experience" kind of place. The staff are friendly, good at what they do, and above all efficient. The place is clean and a well oiled machine. I had 30 minutes for a pedi, and they finished on time. Nothing was skipped from a "spa" experience except the leisurely pace and the environment. The price was eye popping good!  And that massage chair?  Not bad at all for a 30 minute pedi and knead the knots out (after spending two weeks packing & moving my senior Mom). I will be back. I agree with Susann H. I paid $35 for powder nails.Two days later 3 nails were already chipped away. He was trying to set a new world record on how quick he could get the job done. I asked if I could soak the old nails off instead of him drilling them off. He said " No that would take all day". I will never go back. Read Less

I just wanted to say that this place it's really good!! I've been going there for 3 months to get eyebrows done and acrylic nails, they always take their time with you making sure you are satisfied with their work. my nails last a very good 2 wks and they have unbeatable prices around this area! I stopped by today with my Mom and sister. The workers were busy, but nonetheless got to us within half an hour. My nails are fabulous, and I had an enjoyable conversation with the nail tech about how his brother (who, it turns out, was working on my Mom's nails--great work, she loves the blue glittery next-gen nails) created the penny-tile piece on the back wall. My mother seemed to be laughing at her conversation with her nail-tech, and my sister admired how skilled her nail-tech was at completing her gel nails. Have been having Tommy do my nexgen for almost 2 years now. He is very much the perfectionist....like me about my nails. Natalie does my peds. I have a standing appt. for each and never need to wait. Their work is consistently good. They both really listen to what I want. A couple of times when Natalie wasn't there, one of the other techs did my pedicure....also, no complaints. I have been a regular here for about three years now and I've never left disappointed. The owners are very friendly, the place is clean, and all the techs always do a great job. I love the way my nails look. I'm very rough with my hands as I do crossfit almost everyday and my nails still always last. I would suggest making an appointment on the weekends as they tend to be pretty busy. I always make an appointment and I've never had to wait. Tommy is always ready for me when I walk in. I saw some of the other reviews complaining about the wait times. If they had made an appointment, then they wouldn't have to wait!! Read Less

Disgusting nail salon stay away! I'm serious. I went in and it was disgusting to see that they do not use a plastic cover protector in the pedicure equipment area. I have been a steady seasonal customer (October-May) for many years.  There have been 3 different owners since I started going to NY Nails in the early 1990's and I think the owners now (who have been here at least 5 years, maybe more, I just can't remember) are the best so far.  I never make an appointment because I never know when I can get in, but I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. I use whoever is available at the time and I have ALWAYS had excellent service and quality workmanship.   I highly recommend this nail salon for anyone who is a perfectionist like me!!! Read Less

Let's start off with the 50 minute wait to get into the pedicure chair where I waited an additional 20 minutes. Plus, they took the girl who walked in after me (also with no appointment) before me. Oh, let me back up. When I walked in, it took about a minute before someone acknowledged me and asked how to help. This was my first time here so I wasn't sure if I needed to sign in or just have a seat. Not very welcoming. 3 different people asked me what I was getting within the 70 minutes that I was waiting for service.So the guy finally came to work on my feet. He apologized for the wait, but explained that he was hungry after working for 7 hours straight. He was pleasant and friendly. The owner came over to start my full set while I was in the pedicure chair.  EXCEPT, he didn't just start. He did everything except actually put the paint on my nails while standing up next to my pedicure chair. While I appreciate them getting me out of there quickly, it seemed rushed and not relaxing at all. The owner never spoke to me, only to the guy doing my toes, except when he asked what kind of nails I wanted, making this the 4th person to ask.They get a bonus star because my nails look like what I expected. I have been to this salon quite a few times and I wanted to wait to write my review- salons are generally not consistent with their service / quality. I have to say- this place is great!  I have had consistent quality service since day one!I usually get a liquid gel fill and a regular pedicure- I have always been beyond satisfied with the expert service I have received. I have also had my eyebrows waxed- Natalie is wonderful!  When Natalie isn't available I am able to have Son do my nails- he is amazing!  He does exactly what I ask and my nails never chip, wear down, or lift. I would love to give this salon five-stars but unfortunately the wait time is a bit excessive (even with an appointment); BUT the wait is worth it!  Also, keep in mind, they advertise their hours as closing at 7pm Monday through Saturday but on Wednesdays they actually close at 5pm. If you are looking for a clean and professional salon to meet AND exceed all of your nail care needs then this is the salon for you! Read Less

these guys are great! prompt, professional, fun, and funny. great value and great work. i got candy cane polish for Christmas and i LOVED it! there was a horrible woman in the salon while we were there. she was absolutely abusive and the owner handled her beautifully and supported his staff member. i'm always impressed when employers do this appropriately and professionally. it was like bad sex.  quick, rough, awkward conversation and a bad result.  the guy didn't let them cure long enough (gel manicure) and by the 3rd day they started to bubble and peel.  i have NEVER had a gel manicure fall apart so quickly.  i won't be back! Read Less

The only person who seemed to know what they were doing was Tommy...who apparently is the owner, but he was doing other people. The woman who did my pedicure was on another planet (the only Spanish woman there). She had to be on some sort of meds because she was very slow, very twitchy, and kept making weird faces. My toes have nice globs of polish on them, and well as polish below mycuticle, onto my toe. The woman Natalie who did my manicure not only cut 3 of my fingers, but I also had a broken nail which she claimed she could make even. Well I have a nexgen manicure with a crooked nail and 3 bloody fingers. I chose this place because its close to my house, but I will never go here again. I spent $65 ($50 total plus a $15 tip - because Im in the service industry and I tip well). I would rather pay more at a place the Venetian and have my nails looking great, and no bloody fingers. This is a great place to get your nails done. It is run by three brothers and they are very nice, friendly and efficient.Came in without an appointment and we only waited about 10 minutes to get our pedicures started. Even though the pedicure/massage chairs were a little worn, they were comfortable and the massage buttons all worked. The water was a great temperature and the tools were very clean.Very happy with the service and our pedicures and the price was very reasonable. They do accept credit cards but please bring cash for the tip. Read Less
