I used to love this nail shop! They have numerous of colors to choose from and gives a complimentary drink. However, today I went to them and the owner was nothing but rude to me! I sat down to get a pedicure and the woman didn't understand what I was telling her I wanted. So the owner came over and ask what I wanted, I explained to him and I guess he didn't understand as well. He then went on to get loud and yelling at me to the point I had to put my shoes on and leave! I am all for supporting small businesses but I will not stand to be mistreated! ***DO NOT GO HERE*** This salon was terrible. I called ahead and specifically told them I was on my lunch hour that I needed to come in and sit in a chair for a pedi and couldn't wait. I also specifically said "I Know with the hurricane some people don't have access to their credit/debit card machines and they assured me that theirs was working." They assured me I would have 0 wait. I got there had my color with me ready to go, waited 10 minutes for a chair to open up. A couple who arrived after me was waiting also and they took all 3 of us back at the same time. They got the immediately available technicians and told me my technician would be available shortly. I then reiterated that I called ahead and said I was on my lunch and needed to get started asap. They did nothing to change the situation. I got my technician and she was EXTREMELY slow and stated before she started "I"m new so it's nice to meet you." As nice as she was she was beyond slow and hurt me multiple times. Please understand I have nothing against her. I then told her that I know she's not even half way through and she confirmed that she wasn't so I told her to just clean me up and that I would have to leave and get back to my office. She was very nice and apologized, however, her boss tried to charge me for the full pedicure. I told him I would pay no more than $15 as my pedicure was not even close to complete. He said no that it would be $20. To avoid any further delays I said fine and gave him my card. He then proceeded to tell me that "My card machine is down you will have to pay cash." I reiterated that I had called ahead for this EXACT reason as I did not have cash. He tried to write my card down which I took from his hand and told him he could not write my card # down. My daughter's recommended Onyx and we were there before they even opened. Two pedicures and one manicure later *sigh* WHERE to begin??? My deluxe pedicure with paraffin & hot towels was EVERYTHING! His luxury pedicure with paraffin AND hot stones had him laid out in the chair like a wet noodle.  Happy Campers is an understatement. We were in no hurry and we didn't feel rushed or pressured. I am writing this review as I approach the second hour of my waiting time for one nail repair. I got my nails done last Thursday, and two of them have broken within the last two days. I've never experienced anything like this, and I've been getting my nails done for a very long time. I walked in the salon and was told it would be an one hour wait. Fine. I did some shopping around in the complex. I came back and sat down to wait for my turn. The gentleman at the front desk informed me that there were only two people doing nails today. That's absolutely insane to me. Why are there only two people working on nails in a nail salon? I'm assuming the other workers only knew how to do pedicures only. This place is messy. I would not recommend it to anyone. I'm in the process of trying to find somewhere new to go. Without even cleaning the nail off from the dust from the acrylic, she was about to paint it with all the residue on it. I came here today and I must say this by far has been the best experience I have ever had at a nail salon! I'm down here for bike week so I wasn't sure where to go, glad I came here! Mike did my pedicure and it was amazing!!!! The front counter gentleman was also awesome, walked in the door with a smile was told it would be a 5 minute wait and had a water for me as well. I can't say enough of about Onyx Nails and Spa.  I have been coming regularly for over a year and they are absolutely the best!!!!  I get a gel manicure with design and deluxe pedi and my eyebrows arched.  The atmosphere is always immaculate and relaxing -- from the music, to the lighting, to the seating.   My wait time is reasonable and I'm offered a cold beverage while I wait.  The staff is courteous, friendly and professional.  I'm greeting warmly, my technicians are always meticulous, my designs are stunning and the end result is my hands and feet are always pretty (makes me want to wear sandals all year round) The prices are reasonable, the service is excellent and the supplies, selection and equipment are top notch.Ben and Lindsey make sure that I leave feeling better than when I came in. I went to Onyx Nails and asked for a price on getting a fill for UV Gel....was quoted $50....I told them I would be back in a week or so.  When I went back to have it done I again said I wanted a fill in.....when completed he said I owed $70.....I said whoa.....you quoted me $50.....he said I got a new set.....I said I didn't ask for a new set.....I told you I wanted a fill in.....he said they were too bad and couldn't do a fill in and I needed a new set.   Not once was that ever talked about during the process.  I paid the $70 but will not return to Onyx Nails.  I wish now I would have just given them $50 like they quoted for what I asked for and walked out the door....live and learn. Onyx Nails & Spa is one of the best customer oriented nail shops I have ever been to. When I call to make an appointment they answer the phone "Hello Marcaje". It's the best feeling, when a business you spend your hard earned money at knows you by your first name. Upon arrival, you are offered water, soda, or wine. I called to ask if I could walk in or needed an appt. I was told to just come on in. Walked in and was immediately helped. The gentleman who did my nails did a fantastic job. I've gone to many high end salons back in my hometown (Tampa) and I've yet to experience someone who took such great time fixing chips, lifting, and previous salons mistakes. This place has a new manager/owner. The new owner is very knowledgable how to run the biz. I had my mani/pedi with Mary, she has 20 yrs experience, well spoken English. I went in on Friday to get a manicure. They were busy, but asked that I make an appointment for the following day, which I did. I made the appointment for 1:30. When I arrived, no one greeted me or even acknowledged me for at least 20 minutes, when I was seated at a station that was unattended. I sat there until 2:10, when I told a young nail tech that I was leaving and would come back another time. Sitting for 40 minutes when I had an appointment was ridiculous! I asked if I could get better service by walking in without an appointment. She said she didn't know; she didn't know how that worked. Really? I don't know if I'll give them another chance.
