Every time I come to this nail salon they have the crappiest nail tech do my nails. As he was applying the acrylic I told him my nails were too thin and needed more acrylic he didn’t add more and proceeded to doing it how he wanted to. The worse nail salon ever. Stay away from this place. Read all the signs they post on the walls, I turned on the massaging chair and was charged additional $10 for the massage. Nail tech is Inexperienced and is unable to draw your own design. She even had trouble with the designs that they offer. UPDATE: Five days after getting my $40 manicure, my nails got so cracked I had to remove the polish. --- I am highly disappointed for two reasons and wish I could get a refund (I was visiting from out of town and am no longer in the area). 1) The man (the thin man) who did my nails was rude the first time I went, despite me being polite to him. Barely said anything to me. I wasn't expecting conversation but I was expecting for more than just my nails to be acknowledged. The second time I went to get my nails fixed (more on that later), he completely ignored me. I said, "How are you doing today?" twice and got no response besides him grabbing my hand to start his work. I thought maybe the first day he was having a bad day. Because he was rude the second time too, I think he just has poor people skills. 2) The nail polish didn't go on as cleanly as I hoped but it wasn't enough to complain about. However, the next day, four of my nails had cracks in the polish (my nails themselves did not crack, it was just the polish.) I went in the next day (yesterday) to get them fixed and he fixed them at no extra charge. I just noticed today that two more nails have cracks in the polish. Also, one of my nails has uneven nail polish on it. Another nail has chipped nail polish. I don't do any intense work with my hands. The most intense work I do is type on the computer. Pretty disappointed in the $40 gel manicure I got. I don't review places often unless I have an exceptionally bad or exceptionally good time there. If you are going to visit Modern Nails, I recommend having your work done by one of the women (they seemed very nice) and to also not get the chrome polish. Modern Nails is the BEST nail salon in Brandon, FL! They offer fantastic service at prices that are really hard to beat. It's a really nice family owned and operated business that I've been going to for many years. Not sure what the other reviews are about because I've always had a wonderful and pleasant experience. Amazing nail salon! I came in for Shellac gel polish and needed one nail fixed that was breaking off. They told me it was not a problem! Mind you today is the day before Thanksgiving. They were more than kind and available to do my polish change for ONLY $15! I'm speechless. Q did such a good job; my nails actually look like I have a set of false nails on. Great location, lots of parking, clean and nice on the inside and wonderful service!I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone, but just like anywhere else- call ahead to make sure a nail tech is free if you're in a rush (like me!)
