I had been going to this nail salon for over a year and getting just a plain pedicure every time.  Had an upcoming wedding to go to so I called to make an appt ahead of time for a manicure and pedicure.  They knew me on the phone and was surprised I was getting a manicure and I explained about the upcoming wedding.  Then I asked how much it would be for my 6 year old to get her nails and toes done too for the wedding and she said $12 so I booked both out appointments.  When I got there on the day of the appointment my daughter and I were both instructed to sit in the big chairs and soak our feet and I kept getting asked if I was getting a Gel manicure, I kept saying not but they kept asking.  Flash forward to the end of the appointment when I asked to pay.  They charged me $25 for my daughter, when I said that they had told me $12 over the phone they said that was just for polish and she got a manicure pedicure.  I felt they played a name game and should have provided the service I booked and not tricked me into a more expensive service for a 6 year old child who hated the experience and cried during the pedicure.  When I argued with them and told them I wouldn't come back again after coming here for so long if they didn't make it right, they said that it was too late since the service had already been received.  Now they lost a customer.  Beware the service you are getting is the service you actually want and that you are not being tricked as I was. I really wanted to love this salon.  Great location, friendly, and OK mani/pedi but...my daughter and I had an appointment at 5:15 and it almost took 2 hours.  I make appointments because I don't have that kind of time to waste.  It may have been an off night and busy but walk-ins and regulars were being taken care of before and during our services.  They should have been told to wait or to come back at a later time.  On another note, I also was uneasy regarding no liners in the tubs and the tools that were used.  I am used to the bigger salons where they are in sterilized packages and liners are used. I went here because of the amazing reviews and left feeling like I didn't get what I paid for. The nail techs were nice, however, their services were horrible. I got a regular nail polish pedicure and a next gen manicure; for both my mani and pedi, my nails were cut crooked and when I complained about it, they told me my nails were naturally like that (even though I did not walk in with diagonally-cut nails). Plus, my next gen (with fake tip) only lasted me a week before falling off one of my fingers. Read Less

I had an appointment for a pedicure and NexGen service at 1pm today. Walked in at 1 and waited until 1:25 to even get into the pedicure chair. As someone who works M-F and had an unexpected day off with lots of errands to run, I feel as though I should have been helped at least within 15 minutes of my appointment time. I had another appointment scheduled at 2:30 so after my pedicure, (which was finished at 2:05 pm with no massage) I had to leave without my NexGen. I was offered to have my nails done while I had my pedicure, but I had a few emails to return so I needed my hands available during my pedicure. The salon was clean, and my pedicure was done well, but I do not think I'll be returning to this salon due to waiting almost 30 mins past my appointment time to be helped, lack of NexGen colors, and a $21 pedicure that didn't even include a massage. I love it and Im able to get the same nail tech everytime I go, which is not possible at all salons. Mimi is my nailtech and she is best and ever so nice. She doesn't rush through like alot of other salons do because they like money better than doing a good job on your nails & feet. I have been going here for at least 3 1/2 yrs or more and wouldnt go anywhere else. They offer all kinds of nail tip techniques & large asst of nail & toe polish. Mimi always makes time for me even if her day was full she will try to get me in no matter what, I also feel Mimi is a perfectionist at her work. I was a nail tech for almost 30yrs. I'm retired now and I continues at same salon I worked for many yrs with a girl I worked with at time. I always had acrylic p&w. My daughter get dip it or nexgen same product but diff manufactures. My truck did not do gels so I had to find another salon.I began at Rio with a pedi few months ago, it was so bad I complained and withheld payment. Went back next day as I was told for a new pedi but they were not cooperative. Months pass and I go for Nexgen. They tell me no i can't too thin for me and gave what they called gel powder and liquid.i know for a fact it was acrylic ,however, they insisted gel chg me $45 + $20 for gel polish. Nails looked like a wad of chewed gum on top of nail. 1st angry chg without saying extra for gel brought my own color! 2 days lifting every nail said to come in take off try another diff product and pay full price 2days later! Then I went to la vie nails. Week after full set he drills down the thickness and does a "gel"fill. 1 day later I see my own nails under tips were not attached to tip at all. 3 fell off and 1 he added gel to side but forgot to file.Go back next day for fix. He said nothing wrong every nail diff shape length as well as the lump he forgot to file down polish had worn down and nails not attached to tip. He said I quote"I do top of nail your own nail under is not my job I only do tip with gel so go to someone else! I got up and left. I had my nails done 3x plus 2x back to fix. I read all review from various saline and decided to try nails west! I knew it with 1st owner as it's been years. I walked in very clean very friendly. I had explained to owner what was going on and I had no clue what I had on nails!! I soaked them off and I said I want dip or nexgen she told me both same diff manufactures. I had her do another fullest. I am writing this as I am very familiar with this business and I like my nails a certain way. I sat back picked out a color and left her do her job! When it was all done I have the most gorgeous nails done exactly the way I wanted wife to cover my nails not narrow as everyone kept doing.As a former tech I am very particular and Nails West deserves 15 stars. Salon was clean, liners for pedi if u ask, the only sad part is in 3weeks they get soaked off! I have never been to salon that hears and does what I like and owner (Mia) was excellent! Look no further for a good nail salon.  I have been coming to Nails West for more than 2 years, and I have never had a bad experience. This no-frills family owned salon is spotless, friendly, reasonably priced and always give excellent service making my nails look beautiful.  I have recommended Nails West to 3 people who have since become regular customers as well. Wonderful people! The owner Mia is very nice.  Had an issue with my manicure with another nail tech and Mia fixed it beautifully...my mani and pedi lasts for a whole month! This place is great and well priced. The staff is very friendly and the owner really knows her customers. There are so many regulars who go here too (which is always a plus in my book). Whenever I get a gel manicure anywhere else it starts to peel up after a week. Here they last over two weeks. I'm so relieved I finally found my nail place in Boca. After living in south Florida for 4 years, I can say with confidence that many nail places are over priced and don't know how to do nails. If you're looking for you're normal nail salon, that's well price, you don't usually have to wait 6 hours to be taken without a reservation- go to nails west. Read Less

This place is super clean and the people working there are all friendly. I was a first timer and came as a walk-in. I only had to wait about ten minutes which was fine for me. I was happy with the overall service and the way my nails came out. Other customers there all seemed to be regulars because the employees seemed to know each of them very well. I just got my nails done at this place and was very pleased with the service.  I did have to wait 30 minutes since I didn't have an appointment but for me it wasn't a big deal.  The only drawback was that I could barely understand the lady who did my nails but she was nice anyway.   She was very good and very quick.  It's not a fancy shmancy nail place but it's clean, has a very good selection of polish colors and the ladies were all very friendly.
