Let's start by saying Chris R is one of the kindest, most accommodating stylists I've ever had the pleasure of booking (and rebooking... and rebooking...) with. A great listener, he'll really take in my initial request, and devote the time to go in and fix EVERY little thing I need until it's just right. If he's available, book with him.The salon itself has done a great job of bringing in friendly, professional, and prompt staff. I've never had any judgements or side-eye glances when I admit I color my hair with boxed dye, or if I am five minutes late, need to rebook, or want another cup of tea. Thank you, specifically to Todd for giving me a fabulous haircut. Full disclosure I rarely get my hair cut. I went in with hair that is two colors, and with several inches of fried split ends. This was the third time I've seen Todd (in probably 3 years) but I made my appointment because I distinctly remember his laid back personality and that I didn't expect passive aggressive side-eye about my mistreated hair. That sounds like it should be obvious but I've heard plenty of horror stories about judgy commentary from stylists. He's always been careful to show me how much he's cutting off (which I really appreciate), and when he gave me bangs a year back was also very diplomatic about asking after my previous experience w/ them (since they can be a real PITA if you've never dealt with it.) I also like that he can clearly tell I don't want a housewife blow out so I don't leave the place looking like Wynona Judd in the late 90's. I've been searching for a great salon and stylist since I've moved to the DC area. A friend recommended this spot and I absolutely loved it. I sent a message on their website to have someone call me to book an appointment, which was promptly followed up with the next day. When I came to my appointment, I was warmly greeted and offered a cucumber water. Then I was escorted back to their waiting area to relax while my stylist was finishing up.The hair wash comes with a light head and neck massage. My stylist was Roel, he was fantastic! He specializes in long hair and he did a great job. You can't put tip on your credit card, but you can use Venmo if you don't have cash. I highly recommend this place! Read Less

Nice front desk staff, great scheduling, horrible mani pedi curist! Shellac chipped less than 6 hours and only went to dinner and traveled home by plane 1 hour! Asked for extra exfoliating of feet during pedicure , have as much dead skin as no pedicure! My regular nail tech would be horrified as am I! I can't believe I paid for this service! There wasn't even conversation! It was an awful experience and I can't go back for a quick re do as I am from out of town and just visited! I hope the salon will consider my comments and experience as I am a licensed cosmetologist who does recognize and know quality from crap!!!! Read Less

Customer service was generally very good. The space itself is beautiful and well laid out. If you are looking for efficiency in service, this is definitely the place to go. However, that does not necessarily mean quality is there. When I went, my stylist definitely was in a hurry to get me out of there: full hair and makeup in less than 60 minutes. If I had a do-over, I would go back and only get my hair blown out. They did an excellent job of this. Beyond that, I ended up to...uching up a lot of my hair afterward. Insofar as makeup goes, I took 100% of it off minutes after leaving. It's clear there is a very distinct "style" of makeup that they do, and if that isn't what you want, don't go. I think I would have looked better after a free sephora makeover. The makeup style is very "cakey" if that makes sense. After another salon made a booking error for my hair and makeup, they managed to squeeze me in last-minute for my trial and my pre-wedding appointment. The staff made sure every detail was in order!
