I have been coming here for about 6 months now for SNS. The first time I went I wasn't sure if I would go back because my nails chipped with a week. That was my first time ever getting SNS so I thought maybe I was too rough on my nails. The next time I went, I had Tina and my nails lasted way longer with no chips! From then on I requested Tina for my services and wasn't disappointed. She takes the time to soak off the SNS instead of filing it down with the machine which other places don't do.They have a HUGE color selection, which I like because I haven't had the same color yet. The only downside is the price which is around $45. There is no fill in so you have to get them redone every time. Overall a great place, I highly recommend for pedicures too! Read Less

Also I've been getting SNS here, which I love and looks great, however the first time the lady suggested it over gel I asked what the price was and she said the same as a gel. ***Response to Owner*** Emily, you're not being honest and your reading comprehension is failing you.I made it clear in my initial review that I got SNS for a manicure and I know that it takes longer than a gel manicure, for example, and costs more. My point was that once it was complete and I had noticed that the color was not as expected that I was too tired to ask for a different color or have the process repeated. Also Ana was tired as well and ready to go home since we finished after closing time. Tracy did not help at all with the nail color selection. Perhaps she told you she did but that was not the case. She literally handed me the samples and walked away to tend to other things and then to top it off the color that I requested is not what was given to Ana. No stiptic powder was used on my cuticle. None whatsoever and now I'm concerned that this wasn't even offered to me. Alcohol and antiseptic was applied; that was all. Perhaps because of this we had to wait several minutes for the bleeding to stop. Stiptic powder would have been welcomed if I knew you all had it. There was no mention in my review of a hidden charge, I said it would have been nice if the service was discounted since your staff cut me and made me bleed. Ana originally charge me $75, you told her the amount was $80. I paid the $5 difference in cash. In light of what had happened during the pedicure it would have been honorable of you to honor the first amount that was charged on my card opposed to asking me to pay in cash because I guess you didn't want to run my card for $5. *****************************************************************I'm trying to be more positive in life; generally speaking ... But, there is nothing lavish about this place. From the moment I walked in the staff seemed off and not very inviting but I had walked up in the rain and I really wanted a manicure before the work week.Ana did my SNS manicure with an almond shape and it came out pretty good but it was a no frills manicure that cost $48 and she used the wrong color ( I didn't realize this until I got home and remembered the color number I had selected). What do I mean by no frills? No hand massage or lotion at the end, no hand soak and pushing back of cuticles in the beginning. Basically the powder polish took up most of my time with her and it is a lengthy procedure (about 2 hrs) and it was past their official Sunday closing time when she finished but ... They were still taking people in for full manicures and pedicures at the closing hour so that was really no excuse.By the time I got to Ana I had already been injured during my pedicure. I had picked a dark grey color for my toes and a dark grey color for my hands (m35 or something like that) in SNS for my hands. Tracy, the pedicurist, was not helpful at all with the color match. I repeatedly asked for help and she just kept shoving the color swatches at me to figure it out on my own. I said from the beginning that I wanted a grey color to match the OPI polish that I had picked out and she gives me swatches for every color ... What sense did that make? The first time I dipped my fingers into the powder I commented that the color was off and I asked if this was grey or a light blue. The (D434) is like a slate grey color and not what I wanted. I kept thinking the color would get darker with additional coats but nope. Ana kept commenting on how pretty the color was (maybe to convince me) but at the end of it, it was not what I wanted but she seemed in a rush to get home and at that point I just wanted to leave as well.Speaking of pedicures ... Tracy cut my cuticle and I bled for 10 minutes until clotting kicked in. My cuticle is still sore and this happened about 2 hours ago. She did apologize but for $80 for a mani/pedi (basic mani pedi at that not spa) this shouldn't have happened and it was due to a very amateur mistake. She was tugging on my cuticles. She basically dug deep into the corner of my left big toe and yanked on it until it bled. At first she kept moving on to assault my other toes until I brought to her attention that I was BLEEDING. As we were waiting for the bleeding to subside she rubbed my legs with lotion and hot stones. It was ok but I've definitely had better. She ripped my cuticle and I got an "I'm sorry". I got the OPI Infinite polish which costs $5 extra and in retrospect it would have been better business to waive the $5 since they injured me but whatever I don't like to make scenes so I paid and quietly left, very unsatisfied.I'm never going back to this place and I could never recommend it. I haven't gotten nicked in a nail salon since 2000. I was 16 and it still wasn't this bad.Next time I'll just head further south to Mimosa in AdMo. My fault for being lazy and trying to support a local business. Or better still get up to Allure Nails in Rockville and get a spa mani pedi with champagne for $85.This place is terrible and to be avoided. Read Less

Four years ago, this was my go-to nail spot. So when I moved back to DC, I was excited to give them a visit. The place has been updated and has new management now and while I really want to love this place again, I can't. This is the second time they have cut my toe nails far too short. The last time resulted in an ingrown. And then yesterday I went in for a pedicure and the guy filed my big toe nail down to skin and started bleeding. It is still bleeding and has stinging pain today. I hope I don't get an infection! I have a bandaid on now to reduce exposure to the elements. I guess I won't be wearing sandals this week either... what a waste of a pedicure. Read Less

I came in for an SNS fill and pedicure last night. Prior to my arrival, i called lavish nails to make an appointment and specify which services I wanted, specifically a fill and not an SNS full set. I believe heather was my manicurist's name. Upon my arrival, heather wrapped my nails in acetone cotton swabs. I picked an SNS color and specifically asked the gentleman manning the registers if the color I had chosen was too light for a full, he assured me it wasn't. Once my pedicure was complete heather began to file my nails and removed all of the tips and SNS already on my nails. I tried to tell her to stop but she didn't understand. I spoke once again with the man upfront who told me she would leave the rest of the tips and they wouldn't charge me for a full set.  Despite this, heather continues to remove all of the tips, leaving large patches of SNS on the nail bed. She then haphazardly glued tips on (many of which were not the right size, and dipped each nail straight into the SNS colored powder with no base. Once she finished the powder, it was apparent it was not done correctly. SNS powder was stuck all over the cuticle and finger tips, and the SNS powder on the nail itself was uneven with large dips throughout. She filed them down exceptionally thin and threw a top coat on. In addition to looking terrible, as of this morning two of the nails have broken and the nails are beginning to warp. I've written the salon to ask for a refund of the services and have yet to hear back. Read Less

Just in case it isn't clear how much I love Lavish Nail Spa, I'll tell you this: I live on the opposite side of D.C. yet I keep going back.I have never made a reservation, but every time I go, they seat me immediately. The staff is extremely nice and polite. I always get SNS nails done, and they must have at least 100 colors to choose from. They are perfectionists and are careful when dealing with your nails, yet they're fast and focused. The place is always clean and spotless, the price is good ($45 for SNS nails) and my nails last at least three weeks. I have been going to Lavish Nails Spa for almost a year now, and couldn't be happier with my nails!

Read Less
