When I got it I really liked it, but then a couple of weeks after my hair started to get dry and split ends were coming out again, it felt like I never cut my hair or it was cut with an old scissor. My friend and I were on a time crunch before our spring break travel plans and asked for an 8AM slot just a few minutes before. They made the appointment right away and the nail technician could not have been sweeter! I was in Washington DC for a business trip and needed to get my hair done and found George salon on Yelp made an late appointment with "Jennifer". I travel to DC very often and have tried few other Georgetown salons that did an awful job and charge me a lot right across the street, but this was the first time that I have had such a wonderful and caring hairdresser who did an amazing job on coloring my hair and lighting up my roots. She listen to me and told me what she wanted to do, stayed past her shift to make sure my hair was done. I got so many compliment on the color and blow dry..She has such a good personality that I did not even felt 2 1/2 hours passed by. I can't speak for any of the other stylists' work, but Sertac is the bomb. I followed him here from Urban Style Lab and he is just awesome when it comes to color; he's super talented and also laid back and cool. I am really sad to be moving from the DC area because I'll have to find another colorist. I've done almost every color in the book with Sertac and he is always open to experimenting and trying something new. Ismail Tekin did a great job--the man gave me a lovely, fine, meticulous hair cut that got compliments even when it had long grown out.  Unfortunately the masterpiece took a re-do.  I came in for a consultation, and when I arrived for a cut I asked if we needed to go over the details and look at photos once again.  Ismail said that he remembered everything, but he gave me a straight cut instead of an A-line bob.  There was not much volume in back.  The fix required going a little too short.  I had been growing out my hair for months in order to have something to work with in sculpting the A-line.  But two thumbs up for Ismail's willingness to fix and re-shape.  He did a great job in the end.  My hair never looked better. I came to Georges years ago when I had a horrible allergic reaction to hair dye - they listened to my fears and worked with me. I was very nervous but after a few times there,  felt better - The salon has a good vibe. Everyone from front desk to shampoo and stylists are friendly and helpful. Ismail has a great upbeat personality and amazing eye for hair color. He listens but will also make suggestions.They always try to accommodate my busy schedule and that means a lot to me. The salon is very professional, I've been a regular customer mainly for blow dry and Hair extensions until a month ago where I had the worst experience ever. I requested a keratin hair treatment and their female hair dresser lied to me and told me a bout a new product that is keratin and ended up to be a relaxer . On top of that she added a glaze to the process and after a while my crown hair was broken into halfs that's getting worse and worse day after day. I spent thousand of dollars to restore the rest of my hair, in addition to the emotional disturbance that I can't get out of it until now. She don't fit the place she still need supervision. Dimitri is the only stylist I will let color or cut my hair. I travel a lot but always time my hair appointments when I'm back in DC. My hair is thick and wavy and color takes a long time to set.  My color is never static; Dimitri always takes the time to assess my hair before he mixes the formula.  It comes out perfect every time-subtle lowlights and soft color that looks natural in every light.  He is up to date with all the latest trends but actually listens to you when you state a preference.  He has also fixed several friends' hair disasters; he really knows his stuff. First of all- the receptionists and my stylist were great. Dimitri listened to my ask to only take a teeny bit off (one stylists don't often heed) and was warm and friendly. However, the salon was dirty. Not just busy day -lots going on, but actual dirt, trash, and hair everywhere. The ladies room was in a back of house area which I was surprised to see was for clients. I also had to stand around and wait for my shampoo. At $130 for a 45 minutes haircut, it was certainly a Four Seasons price without the Four Seasons level of service. Read Less

I have seen Ismail Tekin several times for a hair cut and a blowdry. He is so, so wonderful. You definitely need to make appointments in advance (at least a month, I usually make mine 2-3 months in advance), but he is worth it! I like my hair with long layers and I have gone through a slew of hair stylists who either give me layers that are too short, or no layers at all. He is the first stylist that has given me the exact cut that I want. I currently go to another salon for color but I am thinking about making the switch! Sertac is a genius with color, which is why he was voted DC's top colorist. Timo is equally talented with cuts. If they moved, I would follow them for my color and cut. Yes, they really are that good. With color by Sertac, cut by Timo and a blowout by Timo or Serkhan, people literally stop me on the street to tell me how beautiful my hair looks. If I could give George at The Four Seasons more than five stars, I would. My hair was cut, colored and styledby Ibo. I haven't been this pleased with a Salon for a very long time. I sent my daughter before she startedher first real job in Boston. Her hair looked perfect soI decided to give Ibo at George at The Four Seasons a try. I gave Ibo some idea of what I wanted and then he worked his magic improving on my ideas. Have already booked my next appt. If you can't find parking there's valet parking at the Four Seasons for 12 dollars. Also, there's an ATM in the salon to get cash for tips.  Very convenient. The staff was very friendly, as well. It's with great hesitation that I provide this review, as I do not wish to have difficulty booking hair appointments in the future, but hopefully I can help a few women out. Ishmael, the owner, is amazing. He was rated the best hair stylist for blondes in DC at one point, and he's simply fantastic. Beautiful blended highlights is a specialty. His brother, Ibo, is similarly amazing, but honestly, they're all great. If $250 for cut/highlights seems outrageous to you, don't go and then leave a pissy review here. By all means, don't spend money you don't have, but if you know the value of having a great stylist that you're loyal to and aren't deterred by the pricing (which is all relative, really - spending $500 for a great cut in NY/LA is not uncommon), give this salon a try.Their clientele includes DCs elite - members of Congress, lobbyists, socialites - many 40+, so I feel lucky that I discovered them early, by late-twenties. Plan on a cut/color taking 2 hours, just to be safe - I often schedule too tightly and get stressed out, but I love it when I have the time to enjoy the experience. Read Less

This Salon has gone through a lot of changes over the last year. While George is still there, the Salon now has different owners. I believe recently the owners parted ways. I am hopeful that this means that the Salon will return to better service and to live up to being a part of the Four Seasons. I have always found the staff to be polite and nice but my recent visit found them to be in a better mood as well, hopefully a result of the owners parting ways. I have two things that have continued to bother me.1. The owner and staff need to sit in the hair washing chairs and see what the clients see. The ceiling and vents need a good dusting. This may seem petty but if I'm going to drop this amount of cash and be at a Salon that is part of the Four Seasons, I expect details like this. 2. I noticed on the pricing menu that you can get a haircut and then must pay extra for a blow-dry. This is cheap, un-classy and unprofessional. A blow-dry is included in the price at the Hair Cuttery for goodness sake. I find it difficult to believe that professionals of this level are ok with cutting hair and then having their clients walk out with wet hair that doesn't show the work that they did. If I'm going to pay these prices for a world class service, I expect the complete package, not to be nickel and dimed. My hope is that now that the personal issues are gone the new owner will begin to focus on bringing the Salon back to the reputation the name George at the Four Seasons implies. Read Less

If I have the ability to put -10 stars I could do it. The fact that the salon is close to four seasons is not relevant at all. Due to my profession I interact with many top hair stylists.Anyway, I had my color done there. Ismael, the ''stylist'', was making rude comments about me in Turkish with the ugly stylist next to him which I could understood.He passed me to his assistant and she did all the work. She was lovely. In the meantime he went outside the salon to smoke. ( how professional, he probably thought he was on a Turkish mountain or something ) He left the color 15 min extra on as he was busy smoking. Maybe he got confused and he thought he was doing a hair color on a goat.Worst hair color ever and totally unprofessional treatment. A haircuttery salon gives you better service and definitely better hair color than them!Just STAY AWAY FROM THAT CLASSLESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL SALON PS Someone needs to tell those women that come out from that place that their hair looks like a helmet  #tragic Read Less

I'm about as picky as it gets when it comes to my hair. I've been going Ibo for a cut, highlight and blow-dry and for a while now and he gets hits the nail right on the head every single time!!! It shocks me how he can get the image in my mind and consistently exceed my expectations... He's who I recommend to anyone else without a doubt when I get asked about my hair--which is often thanks to his talent.
