WORST PEDICURE EVER! $30 for a pedicure and the lady barely even touched my feet! The whole process from walking in... picking a color.. waiting in a waterless tub for 5 minutes... to the fastest pedicure on this planet!!.. that involved minimal scubbing to say the least... to walking out.... was a whopping 30 minutes! The worst pedicure by far. If i was in a hurry and asked for an express pedi that would be one thing but from the moment i sat down until the time my toe nails were dry was 30 minutes .. 30 MINUTES! there was ZERO scrubbing and the little bit that was done felt like a breeze brushed my foot. Three swipes, i asked for it to be done harder and there was 1 more breeze and you charge 30 dollars for that!? i didn't even get the relaxing experience I should have. I really think 1 star is more than enough.  I went in with my mother and daughter before a big Make-A-Wish vacation.  The charged full price for an 11 year old kid. They were not at all gentle. Tried to charge mom extra $10 to have heels done (for real!!! $35 should cover it!! )  Did not clean dirt from under nails. Way over priced for an extremely sub par service.  If one is going to charge that much the tables should be clean. I was also asked if I had cash from ACROSS the room, in front of a packed salon when paying with a credit card.  I saw the signs, have some tact and be professional.  We were so rushed out the door I dinged my nails and they were messed up.  I didn't even want to return to have it fixed.  One and done for this dirty little hole. This place is horrible. It's clean and they do a fine job but they always overbook. I have had an appointment multiple times and are still left to sit for 20 minutes while watching walk ins that walked through the door in front of me get serviced first. You get charged more if you pay on a card and also can't tip in you card.  You are always asked if your a " member " and have never had that explained to me. I went here to get a gel manicure for my wedding. Becky did my nails she was awesome and I got a massage as well by a gentleman whose name I didn't get. I was not expecting the level of attention from them and my nails came out beautifully! I wanted to try something near by, I just moved to the area.  Got a gel manicure and pedicure. My nails came out looking  good. The pedicure area has a plastic cover in the bath which is good. You don't have to get everyone's germs. The beauty of my nails came with a price. There was some blood and pain associated with it. They really really work on your cuticles. Like obsessively until you bleed. Two of my finger bleed and one toe. She got my toe really good I couldn't help but to yell  ow! and flinch. Also. They gave massages to people getting manicures.  But for some reason me and someone else didn't get one.  The lady next to me got three by three different people. The best is the shoulder massage after the manicure pedicure. The pedicure and manicure were not worth $69.00  if you pay by credit card -$65.00 if you pay cash.  The difference being the sales tax. This was my first time here with a friend.  We had pedicures.  She called ahead and they obviously fit us in.  From the minute we walked in until literally walking out the door it was rushed.  The nail tech that I had was having issues with the plastic pedicure liner in the tub and spent more time on that than my feet.  He was rough and literally was pulling on my big toe to direct me.  As I am sitting here writing this I felt my feet and they are not smooth like I have experienced with previous pedicures in other places.  Essentially I paid too much money for a substandard job.  My advice, if your establishment is too busy, don't  take on the extra work. I am always happy here.  I have been here on a regular basis and taken breaks.  It is rare when you are turned down as a walk in.  Somehow they manage walk ins and appointments nicely.  It is a little moe expensive than other places but their staff is excellent and the people who run the place are very nice. I have been a regular customer for over a year.  While it may be on the pricey side, you get what you pay for.  Some of the main reasons why I like this salon...it is very clean, they sterilize their instruments; dedicated boxes for repeat customers; instead of obnoxious loud music, there is tranquil soft background music; TVs are muted - closed captioned; the employees are NOT yelling back and forth with each other (I hate it when they do it at other salons and you don't understand their language, they're probably talking about you!). I get a professional manicure (ask for Alex) that always looks perfect and lasts longer than ones I got at other salons; they'll give you a neck and shoulder massage while your nails are drying and complete the manicure with a hand massage and hot rock treatment.  Employees are polite, friendly and professional. If it was not for my last visit I probably would have given four or five stars, but a few days ago that all changed. A previous review spoke that this shop was racist but it was not until my recent visit I experienced it. I have been to a few nail shops in the area in the search for a permanent nail salon. I thought that Happy Nail Spa was it but I was wrong. I visited Happy Nail Spa about four times and has a positive experience. I enjoyed the cleanliness and work but this last time I was disrespected. I had made an appointment for a fill of my gel overlay on my nails. While on the phone I tried to explain the service that I was requesting the price that I was quoted for a fill of my gel overlay was $30. I did believe at that time that they believed I meant gel polish but what was fine. I would clarify during my visit. When I walked in at my appointment time. I was directed to pick out a color. I wanted gel polish to go over my gel overlay. When I asked if the display in the front was all the gel polishes, she responded "it's $60 dollars with gel polish." Now there are several problems with her response. Was it because I am an African American young women she felt that was out of my price range ?? I have never seen them tell someone a price when they ask a simple question about colors. I noticed during my visits that I did not fill their standard demographic of clients (middle age-older white women) but that never bothered me. What did bother me was the way that she announced the $60 price tag as as though I should beware of it. Now to the price! I understand that you get what you pay for, I get that but if the original gel overlay was put on at a salon for $45 at a salon that has the same "clientele" there is no reason that the fill should be $60. Quick and dirty and cheap manicure. Nothing special, but everything that you'd want from a nail salon and for a regular manicure - very reasonably priced!They don't accept credit cards for anything under $12 FYI. Just moved in town and heard this salon was good, but when my girlfriend and I walked in, you would of thought we had 3 heads. The tone we were talked to with made me want to go Postal, I guess our African American money was not good enough for them.I do not recommend them, there attitude sucks, and we felt very uncomfortable with the whole setting. I should have taken pictures to add to this review... I'm from out of town and needed a quick mani/pedi. I asked around at the hotel I was staying in and after going to 2 other shops I decided this one was perfect! I was greeted promptly when I entered and shown the amazing section of gel polishes. I picked a color and started my pedicure with Tony. I opted for the standard pedi and it still came with more services than I'm used to (hot stone, salt scrub, and leg massage). It was great! The mani was the best mani I've ever had, which is surprising because he didn't soak my hands to cut my cuticles. I thought that was weird but I went with it. Also, at least 2 of the other workers who were not working on clients offered to massage my neck and shoulders... Great! If I'm ever back in this area for business and need a mani/pedi I'd come back and ask for Tony! I took one star off because they charge extraif you use a credit card. Weird! They also have an ATM with a $.50 surcharge inside so I just used that and paid in cash. Read Less

What I liked: Happy Nail is a really clean salon! I appreciated this. Also, the shoulder massage while my nails were drying was a plus.What I didn't like: they charged me more for paying with my debit card. Umm, sorry for not having $75 of cash on me at all times. They did have an ATM in the salon (convenient!) but they asked me to pay while I sat in the massage chair with my feet in suds (inconvenient!). Happy Nail, if you don't want your customers to use debit/credit cards, then don't advertise them on signs all over your salon. This is my tried and true.  While it is on the pricier side, I do go here as they keep the establishment clean, they have dedicated boxes for their repeat customers, and they really aim at serving you.They will offer you hot team or other beverages as you get your nails down.  If I head in for a manicure / pedicure combo (with the pedicure being a spa pedicure) I can plan on spending a good 2-2.5 hours there.  Now that is service.  On a regular basis, they don't seem to rush.  Only when they have lot's of walk-ins that come in at the same time.  That would be my only suggestion - don't rush your regulars out just because you have walk-ins.  I have fallen pray to that and with the cost of the services, it can be discouraging.  I will admit though, this doesn't happen too often so don't worry too much.Once you are done with the service, they tend to give you a free massage while you are drying.  I really enjoy the free chair massage as it tends to wrap the entire outing up.  They also offer an ATM in-house as they can't put tips on the check.  I am very excited because most places don't offer this service and the ATM fee is only 75 cents - not your normal $3.00.  Nice job Happy Nail Spa!  I have visited many local nail salons in the Windsor/Manchester area and this is by far the best.
