As always it depends on who you get or ask for. My prior experience getting a pedicure was great but second time I came at a later time. Great they accept walk ins but my foot massage was painful, she kept running her thumb over the inner bone of my foot instead of anywhere else. I had been going to Rainbow nails for about 6 months and generally had great experiences. Since they were new and still trying to gain customers they went over and beyond. The prices were great with the opening discount that ended in April 2017, but now they are the same as any shop in the area. I recommended several clients and was excited to bring my mom when she came in town for Mother's Day. We both got pedicures and I got a SNS while she got a full set. I was disappointed because they forgot to give my mom a massage and my usual manicure was rushed. I chalked it up as a busy afternoon. The total was about $130 and I paid for my mom and I, which broke the bank for my pockets as a student. As we proceed to gather our belongings one worker comes over say, "tip tip". I said, "not today. I don't have it nor do I have any cash" (Tips and are cash only here). Assuming that I am a consistent customer who tips well when I get service bi-weekly I thought this was acceptable. She says, "we have ATM!" I said, "I'm not going to pay $7 for a ATM fee when I will be back and will tip then." My mom intervenes by digging in her purse searching for cash as the lady invades my mom's personal space to see what she has in her purse. She pulls out $3 for the guy who did her nails and the lady takes the money and throws it on the counter. She says, "the total was $130 and you only give $3! So now my mom and I are both offended because she is making a big deal in front of the entire shop and being nasty about it. My mom stops digging in her purse for more cash by my request. The lady walks off leaving the money still on the counter because it was not enough for her. I was highly disappointed with my treatment especially since I was a loyal customer who tipped regularly. Tips are earned and nasty customer service is not the way to attain them. This was unacceptable. Read Less

Love the massages. I got a pedicure and a manicure respectively I picked a nail polish that needed fixing or throwing out so my nail polish is streaky although the other services was great The nail polish on my manicured hands look really bad other than that everything else was pretty great. I won't count it all as bad because it may not happen again. With that being said still I will be going again and I will recommend this place of business. The place was clean and the staff was very professional. Prices were a bit high for the services I received. Two basic manis and pedis for my mother and I came to $75. My feet were still very rough in some areas that were not pumiced properly. I have nothing against individuals speaking in another language but it was a bit off putting to have to sit there the entire time hearing them speak in a different language to each other. I had a lovely experience at Rainbow Nail! The place was very clean and the ladies were extremely accommodating. The shellac manicure came with a 3 minute massage as well as a hand massage. All shaping and filing was done by hand, with brand new sanitized tools (as opposed to being soaked in sanitizing chemicals, they open new packages of.tools for every customer). The result was hands down the best manicure Ive ever had. Prices were reasonable as well. My shellac mani was only $24 (they were having a promotion at the time) and is generally $30. New to Wallingford and was looking for a nail place. Drove by Rainbow which is also new to Wallingford, and they were offering a grand opening 20% off special so I decided to stop in for a mani/pedi. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they got my pedicure started right away. I did the basic $30 pedi and it was great. Several minutes of a foot/leg massage, parrafin on my heels, hot towel wrap. The massage chair was great too and even had a USB outlet in the side. I wasn't happy with how the color looked as she started painting, so they graciously let me pick another. I also got the basic manicure which came with your basic soak and cuticle treatment, and also a hand scrub followed by a heavy coating of lotion, wrapped in Saran Wrap, wrapped in a hot towel. While my hands sat, I got I wonderful 3+ minute neck and shoulder massage. They handed me a stamp card and a coupon for $5 off my next treatment after I paid.
