I love coming to tips & toes spa. Tom takes his time to make sure every nail is perfect and all the same shape. Most salons don’t take as much time as he does to make sure every single nail is perfect. He even stayed open later for me to make sure my nails were perfect and never rushed. You can tell he cares about his customers and the rest of the staff is very nice as well. I’ve never had any problems or complaints. They also will fix your nails within 10 days if something happens which is amazing and most places don’t offer. The salon is always very clean. I had a great first time visit.the place was spotless and you could immediately see that cleanliness was a habit all around. Best nail salon in Torrington! My mother and I wanted to get a normal manicure, and I decided to try this place after looking at all the reviews. I called a day in advanced and booked and appointment with ease. Im mentioning that because sometimes you call other places and they sound rude or downright mean! We came a few minutes late and they were very welcoming. We picked our colors and sat down. WOW. They were so thorough it was unbelievable. The salon its self has classy with very modern manicure tables. It was very clean and didnt have an overwhelming acetone smell when you walk in. The owner is so nice and makes sure everything is perfect before you leave. We got a regular manicure, which wasnt covered under the 10 day guarantee. I love coming here every other week! All the girls do an amazing job! Very clean, friendly and accommodating! Plus Tom, the owner, offers a 10 day guarantee. So if you experience any chipping or whatever, they'll fix it at no extra charge. So far I haven't had to come back for that. They do a really good job! My friend's nails who gets her gel manicure done at another place doesn't last 3 days without chipping!!  She wishes that this place was so much more closer to her! Not really sure why this salon has Soo many 5 star reviews.  I looked at their reviews and website and decided to try them out.  I get my nails done regularly with acrylic and they had photos and reviews of acrylic nails. I only needed a Polish change this time but wanted to go to a place that also did acrylic to sort of test them out and see how they did. Then i find out he no longer does acryllic. The woman did my toes fine but then she put like 3 or 4 coats on my fingers. I sat there drying for like 20 mins and they said I was good so I paid and left. They don't accept tip on card  (which I'd love to look into the laws about this ) however this is not mentioned anywhere. There should be a disclaimer on the door or somewhere so you don't feel like a total jackass.  As soon as I got in my car the nail Polish started smudging.  Not like little nicks but like half the Polish came off a few of the nails because the coat was done so thick. I came back after going to bank to 1. Tip (even though they didn't deserve it ) and 2. For them to fix my nails . I ask and the guy says polish change isn't included in 10 day guarantee.  However I had no clue what this guarantee was just wanted to have them fix something that any other salon wouldn't question (like it was seriously 5 mins later all my nails looked crazy). Then he said next time sit longer. So I said your nail tech told me I was done. I was willing to sit as long as I needed to. It was a sloppy job. I moved to Winsted back in mid August and was looking for somewhere  closer than where I had been going (Waterbury). I liked my place in Waterbury but I didn't love it, but after 3 years of searching it was the best I had found.  Stumbled upon this place on Yelp and not only did it have a ridiculous amount of amazing reviews the photos were stunning.This place is hands down (no pun intended) the BEST Nail salon in Ct. It is clean organized, aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Its updated, gorgeous pedi spa chairs. The customer service is bar none the above and beyond variety. Tom is the owner and knows his clients, their lives and they know his. When you walk in, it's like your "Cheers". But besides all that, Tom (and Im sure the others as well from the other reviews) is meticulous in his work as he pays great attention to detail. Yesterday I decided to get a design .. a snowflake and I was sure it would be good, but I had no idea. It was the most phenomenal snowflake I had ever seen drawn, let alone on a nail! The BEST manicure in town.  Why go up the road for poor service at the two Nail Salon's.  They charged my credit card for taking off my old polish.  When I asked why my card was charged more they explain after the fact.  Left white on the sides of EACH finger after my french nails.Found Tips and Toes after being unhappy at the other two places.  Tom is wonderful and makes sure you are satisfied.  Jennifer was my nail technician and her attention to detail is amazing.  I am so happy with my manicure and they even back a 10 day guarantee if your nails chips or break.  PLEASE stop looking and go to this Salon, you will be glad you did! My daughter and I were in search of mani-pedis on Memorial Day and thanks to Yelp, I found this salon. I called to make sure they were open and made an appointment for an hour later.  We were promptly greeted and took our time choosing colors. When we finally decided (!) we were seated next to each other in massage chairs with functioning massage (!) The "spa" pedi was $30 (ten day guarantee) for a relaxed hour+ careful scrub, wash, soak, massage and expert callous removal.  Hot stone massage and warm towel wrap finished the "spa" portion and then careful application of polish followed.The manicure ($12) was equally relaxing and expertly performed.  The place is spotless and relaxed, and Tom (owner), his wife Lily and Gaby were working when we were there.  There seem to be loyal regulars and it's clear why.  Having forgotten to change into sandals before venturing to the salon, I rued having to put my tretorns back on.  They said "no worries" and provided me with complimentary, new flip flops to wear home!  (Not the thin temporary ones all salons provide, but real ones.). I have visited Tips and Toes several times and always leave satisfied with their work. The last appointment I made was pretty last minute, and I was the last client of the day....not only did Tom continue to spend great care making sure my French manicure was perfect, he stayed over an hour and a half past closing time to finish them; what excellent customer service! I also have to mention how CLEAN the facility is...for Tom, this is a top priority, and it's apparent and appreciated by all the clients.
