I visited Cleopatra today with my sister for a manicure for the first time in a few years. From what I could remember, Cleopatra was the "it" place around Stratford for nail services. I was appalled when I entered the salon today and it was dingy, dirty, dusty and there were sheets all over the stations toward the back of the salon. The individual at the front desk was rude and did not raise her head from her cell phone when I walked in. It turned out that she was the one who did my nails and she smelled like cigarette smoke which was very unpleasant. The utensils did not seem to be sterilized and the work was less than impressive. My sister had a gel manicure that needed to be removed and instead of properly soaking her nails, the technician proceeded to use the edge of a ripped metro card and an electric nail tool to remove the polish. My sister and I both inquired about having her soak her nails, but the technician insisted on this completely disgusting technique. To make matters worse, my sister was charged for this completely unsanitary removal method. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!   This used to be a nice place to go for some spa services like mani, pedi, waxing and so on.  It is now very dirty, poorly staffed, messy and uncaring/unattentive staff.  I went for a bikini wax recently and the girl would not leave the room so I could undress.  She went and got me a towel was all she would do.  Then during the pedicure, she cut me, barely looked at me and barely spoke to me.  She just sat there and talked Asian to her coworker.  When the pedicure was over, she simply alked away and never came back to check if I was dried or to help me put my shoes back on. After paying nearly $60, I didn't think this was worth to tip for poor service Then to top it all, the manager followed me out and expected me to tip and explain why.  Ridiculous.  Steer Clear Altogether! I don't know what happened to this place.  It used to be the premier spot to go.  No longer.It's run down, poorly maintained and dirty.  The implements are not individually packaged or sterilized.  The stations are dusty and grimy.  There are handwritten bargain signs up all over.  Just makes the place look like a dump.  Surprised Health Dept hasn't shut iThe staff is nice enough but talks to each other while w you and not in English.  I find that so rude.  The owner is unpleasant. The owner of this place is the rudest person in the service industry I've ever encountered.  She's definitely in the wrong business.  I came in to make an appointment with a gift certificate and she behaved as if I was an idiot and wasting her time even asking for such a thing.  I was so disgusted I never even bothered with the appointment. Went in to get a chair massage. The massage was good but when I walked in I asked for the price for a 20 minute massage and at the same time one girl said 18$ and the other said 24$ I didn't argue because I wasn't in the mood. Then at the end there was no tip line on my receipt I didn't have cash so when I said I would double my tip for the girl next week they looked at me like I had five heads. If there was an option for 0 stars, that is the rating this salon deserves. I have naturally thick eyebrows. I was going in for an eyebrow wax and I don't think I could have been more specific with what I wanted, which was a cleaning. I said (about 6 times) " Not thin, just a little bit."The girl basically took offmy entire eyebrow. I am completely devastated. She didn't even apologize. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay for the trash job she did. I have been getting my eyebrows done for many years and something like this has never happened to me. I don't what this girl was thinking or why she is working there in the first place! The manager was very apologetic however there is not much that can be done now. Never would of found this Salon, if I didn't access 'Yelp'. I went for a Spa Pedicure, and my technician rushed it every step of the way, not to mention didn't listen, as to my request for a French Polish. To end it off, I wanted to use their coupon they offered, and they said they would not, as it was a mistake? I was taken back, as they should have honored it regardless! They have signs for senior citizens for the same %off. So, they could have done the right thing. I'm new again to the area, looking for a Salon for both Pink & White & Pedicures. My sisters like going to this place.  So the one recommended it when I wanted to get a gift card for the other.I called, they were very nice on the phone, took the time to make sure they had the address correct, only charged me the amount for the card, called me back when it was in the mail, and my sis received it two days later.  Mind you....some of the spelling for the address was off...but, fortunately, it got there.So very nice staff, might be better to go pick up a gift card and deliver yourself, but they did the job. Went in today to get nail enhancement.   I had a broken nail that was down to the skin. The new nail was growing in but not enough to use a plastic tip. The woman who worked on my nails i believe was the owner of the salon. She have me gel nail extension with a French tip. The broken nail looks so natural. She did an amazing job! I would go back. My mom and I go here to get our nails done a few times a year. It's a little pricey here, but I think its well worth the money. They do a great manicure and pedicure and usually give you a back massage while your nails are drying. It's a super cute salon. Make sure to bring cash for a tip! Read Less

Horrible!!! A girlfriend and I went there for the first time Saturday afternoon to get pedicures. It wasn't very busy and we were greeted and sat right away. They made it a point to seat us next to each other which was appreciated. I found it odd that the water was already filled in the basin. Before putting my feet in, I noticed TOENAILS and scum on the water. I told her I didn't think it was clean and she just said "oh" and tried picking the nails out. Finally she drained, scrubbed and refilled it. That isn't the only reason they get one star. $28 for a basic pedicure which includes practically nothing?! My girlfriend was told by her tech that her heels needed extra (they didn't) and her pedicure would be $60. She requested her heels get left alone after that. Basically, my cuticles were treated, my nails filed and my calves rubbed with lotion. Nothing else was done. The paint job wasn't great and some of my nails weren't filed well at all. I found leftover paint fromy last pedi on my big toenail and the filing was jagged. They weren't rushing, I guess just didn't care. The most aggravating part of this experience is the kids "party" at the drying station. Approx 10 girls, maybe between 8-10 years old were so loud and disruptive. Their adult companions werent taking action to keep them from screaming, talking very loud and running around. The staff would occasionally ask them not to run. Customers go to nail salons to have some down time; to chill and enjoy some pampering. More should have been done to maintain a little sanity there. $29.78 including tax, $35 with tip, for sub-par service and unsanitary conditions? No thanks. I could have paid for 2 pedicures for that amount at a nicer salon. Will not be back and will be sure to spread the word. Read Less

Went to this nail salon on a Sunday. We had an appointment for 3 pedicures and were taken fairly quick. The people were friendly, (no male techs which is my preference). The place seemed clean, although I noticed a lot of stuff piled on the floor behind the pedicure chairs. The service itself was nothing out of the ordinary and I felt rushed. For a basic ($28) pedicure, you pretty much get shaping and polish. Barely any work on the bottoms of your feet and no hot stone or leg massage. I think a little scrub and a hot towel were it. You have to pay $40 and up for any thing more. My pedicure started first and one of the people I was with, whose water hadn't even been drawn when I started, was finished before me. They really don't do anything beyond the trimming and polishing of your toenails. And forget about any shoulder massage while your feet are under the dryer.
