I was shocked when they charged me additional $5 on top of manicure price for removing previous manicure because I didn’t do it at their place 😳. After working as a camp counselor for a week at the Seaport, I had a few hours to kill before my train home and thought that this would be my best option for a mani/pedi, and I was SO RIGHT. I called 45 minutes before I got there, and had a 4:15 appointment. It was busy, so the appointment was crucial as walk ins were waiting for 30 minutes. Cindy did my toes and nails, and it was just what I needed after a week of chasing kids around! So relaxing... easily the best $40 I've ever spent. My friends and I made a reservation for 3 manicures at 215pm, when they didn't have any anticipated business. Due to traffic because of the drawbridge, it took us an unforeseen amount of time to find parking. When we arrived at 2:25, he refused to seat us, continually emphasizing "you're 10 minutes late." When we explained why we were late, he kept staring at the clock and abrasively stated that he could not accommodate us. Understanding they couldn't take us immediately, we expected he would offer us a seat while we waited for the next available technician, but he continued to refuse us service, repeating that we were late. Given the location, this delay for parking must happen frequently. We would have been understanding if he said we would have to wait for a bit, but he told us to leave.  Completely unacceptable. Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new go-to nail salon. This place is not it. The owner first started doing my nails, filing them down haphazardly, then one of the women came to take over and filed the other hand completely different. Poor shellac selection, very few colors that I even liked. Once my nails were done I noticed she missed the entire side of one of my fingers, huge pet peeve when they don't paint your entire nail bed. The woman seemed mad that I asked her to do another coat, after all that and $35 later I walked out hating my nails.The only positive is that they were able to seat me right away on a late Saturday morning. Was looking for mani/pedi and since I was in the area decided on this place. Looked great and in a really nice upscale area. Pretty dissapointed though. Pedicure: well he barely scrubbed my feet and since we just started flip flop season I want me feet to not look like I have dead skin. Also barely massaged my feet at all, and lets be real ladies thats what we love! Other places dip your entire foot in parafin and not just a baggy on ur heel. Mani: went in with long nails came out with barely any, after I told him I like them a little long. Once again didnt massage my hands or arms at all and no parafin. Did a french, while the paint came out well, but for the price I was looking for a little more then just a good paint job. Once the mani was over, there was no massage or hot stone. Same prices as other places with very little pampering. If you are looking for a quick stop then this is the place cause they certainly dont spend any extra time on you. And there were 3 other employees sitting on their phones, so they certainly were busy and rushed for time. Ill stick to my regular, the nail spa in Waterford! Read Less

I was in town for a visit and was in need of a pedicure. This place was very busy upon our arrival. The pedicure was just ok, I have definitely had better other places. The biggest problem was when the shop manager stopped a British family before they left and demanded that they leave a tip. I was appalled by the behavior and the way that this took place. The customer was embarrassed because it was done right in front of all the other customers. It was obvious that this family had no idea that they should have left a tip but to have someone put them on the spot and demand it was just wrong. This should have been handled in a different way. I wAnna say this place can fool you cause it is new and very nice inside and appear very clean. However they don't have any consistency at all... I am the only person in here with 7 employees. Should have listened to the reviews about service.  Maybe if you have a nail tech that you know is good there the service is better.  But when the person doing your pedicure can't even explain what is in a regular pedicure or point out the features from the spa pedicure that are included in a regular pedicure because they can't communicate with you that should have been my first clue.  And the other nail tech who seemed to understand my question, didn't help out by trying to explain anything, what a team they made.  Still I had faith in the good reviews on this place and regardless of the language barriers thought I would continue.  As the pedicure progressed and the guy doing the pedicure, filed down my nails, did all the scraping for calluses and massage and lotion, I was waiting for the part that I go there for, the cuticle trimming.  (I actually go for a pedicure to prevent issues with my feet, so that I don't have to see my podiatrist, it is not a vanity issue for me but a medical one) When it became obvious that this was not part of what would be included, I decided against also getting a manicure.  And if there had been any attempt of either of the techs to try to breech the language barrier I would have mentioned the cuticles, but by then I was just frustrated and figured why try when he wouldn't understand me anyways, and the girl wouldn't clue him in.  Left very unsatisfied.  Will never return.  I went because they opened at 9 and were closer to an appointment I had in Stonington at 11, while my regular place in Niantic (Tahiti'A) didn't open til 9:30. I highly recommend Cozy Nail & Spa. The staff is kind, respectful, and professional. The Spa opened in May and I have been there 6 times already. They also offer a free 10 minute massage after any treatment. The prices are wonderful for such great care! When you have the chance, definitely visit Cozy Nail & Spa. Read Less
