LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! They are def on point regarding RUDE EMPLOYEES! I decided to check out this salon earlier today for a gel polish change. I was told to go to an older lady ("Michelle") and she told me it would be $35! Wtf for a polish change? As I was about to walk out the manager (the cute nice one at front desk) said no we will charge $20. So grumpy lady was pissed! Literally filing my nails hard and doing a sloppy job. Blantantly complaining how she is doing "soo much work for only $20." To make a long story short I had to switch my nail polish b/c the gel color wasn't holding up with the UV light... Grumpy lady kept telling me "no they are fine" when im clearly showing her my polish is wrinkled and not staying- yes the polish was coming off? Weird I know. When I said I have to go with the regular polish she threw my hand down, huffing and puffing, saying so much work... The manager had to finish and most likely I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. BEWARE. Went to this place to get mani and pedi by the Lady called Helen.Pedicure was not so great my toe nails were left lop sided. But I didn't say anything I just wanted my toes to look clean. so as soon As she started to file my nails she was being rough and she kept interrupting me when Ever i wanted to look at the shape. Telling me " I'm not done" so I didn't say anything.. then she puts the u v gel and when I wanted to take my nails out ( 5minutes later) she would shove my hand back in the lamp. I mean it doesn't take that long to cure a nail..  my skin was already hot from the lamps and she was being rude the entire time. She kept talking and laughing with the other employees. When I gave her an $8 tip she got really upset and ask me if I was just giving her $8 I said "yes" with a smile. There will be no next time. I mean who behaves that way and expects to get a good tip? She's lucky I even gave her a tip. It wasn't the attitude it was the whole unpleasant experience. I usually enjoy getting my nails and toes, this wasn't the case at this place. PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE VISITING THE CLASSIC NAILS SALON. 👀 I went there yesterday and I immediately noticed it had been taken over by new management and that they accepted cards 👏🏽! The staff was very polite especially whom I believed to be the manager, she is the cute lady at the desk. Luckily they were able to take care of me immediately because they only had 1 other customer there besides me and one that walked in as I was being worked on. The place was gorgeous and clean, I really appreciated the antique furnishings, it gave it a elegant upscale touch. The man who took care of me did a excellent job on both my pedicure and color gel manicure. Both services were pretty standard aside from the fact that they're one of the few places that I've seen, that uses the fingerless gloves while your hands are under the uv light during the gel drying process. He also was very courteous, prompt and polite. I give Classic Nails 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1. The usual complementary 3-5 minute back massage at the end is not included in the price 🤔. 2. I paid $55.00 plus tax (58 and change) for this service during a weekday (Monday to be exact and I obviously tipped the guy so that brought me over $60.00) With that being said, I do recommend Classic Nails just be prepared to spend a little more than usual with no beloved short complementary back massage 😭. I recommend that the Classic Nails management come up with some weekly specials at least on the mani-pedi, color gel and full-set; it'll definitely bring in some more business and adding in that short complementary back massage wouldn't hurt either 😬. Lastly, to be fair I thought I should mention that they did give me a frequent visitor card; after 10 stamps I get $10 off my next nail appointment. They offer free parking and a short hot stone massage with the pedicure. (which is also pretty standard in most nail salons anyway) Read Less

(If I could do 0/5 I would based on my experience)Went here to get color gel done. Not even 24 hours later a few of my nails had this weird ripple effect and two of my nails had little scratches going across the nail. (I should've known something was going to happen when there was a woman complaining that they messed up her eyebrows and the lady from the salon kept telling her it looked fine but the customer was upset because she said EVERYONE noticed the mistake)When I returned to have them fix it, she simply told me all she could do was cover it up with another coat of polish.. Don't know how exactly that fixes the issue underneath.. But she refused to change the color or give me my money back so I could go get them done properly... This was the new manager, Tina, saying all this... I've NEVER in my life and history of color gel EVER had this issues.. Let alone less than 2 day after getting it done!! When trying to reconcile the issue over the phone, manager began to tell me about her life and how she works 7 days a week.. I'm sorry but that doesn't matter to me at this point.. And while speaking, was constantly yelling over me, therefore not listening to what I was saying... And proceeded to laugh at me on the phone AND hung up on me... I called back upset because that is in NO WAY PROFESSIONAL & she told me I had too much time on my hands to complain and continued to laugh saying maybe I should come run her business.. (Which at this point, sounds like I'd do a much better job than her)... Not to mention the whole hour or so I was there.. I was never offered a massage but watched everyone around me receive 2, even 3... Terrible experience will definitely not be returning or recommending anyone to this nail salon EVER! I decided to get a pedicure at this salon, big error! The woman doing my feet was extremely rude. My friend was getting a pedicure as well. All the two pedicurists did was talk in Korean and laugh and point. I understand speaking in a foreign language to communicate more easily but not in front of customers that do not speak that language. I was planning on getting a manicure, needless to say I did not get one. I'll take my money somewhere where the person giving me a paid service will year me with respect. My normal nail place was too busy so I decided to give this place a try because I needed my nails done today. WORST DECISION EVER!!!  This is the first time that I've spent $69.13 on a gel fill-in with color gel polish and had to come home to file them in order to make it work until I get them redone TOMORROW somewhere else :o(.I think she knew she did a bad job because when I was leaving she said "Please forgive me, it's late...come back tomorrow and I will fix it."  WTF, I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER go there again.  They are overpriced for the level of talent at the shop, they have a limited color selection, and they hand file (which under normal circumstances isn't that bad, but they aren't good so it takes FOREVER and you aren't even happy with the end result!).There are a lot of nail places on Hope St, do yourself a favor and try a different shop.  It's not worth the disappointment...I should have just waited until tomorrow :o(.  Keep driving, don't stop, don't waste your time or money--- TOTAL WASTE OF TIME & MONEY!!! DO NOT EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE.... First of all the owner was sitting getting a pedicure when I walked in and then got out and was walking around the place without shoes... Just EW totally unprofessional I should have left right then and there....I went in with a picture and explained what I wanted done. Almond shaped tips with black gel... The owner promptly assured me that they were able to accommodate me for 55$. As I was getting the tips put on the women came over again and asked what color I wanted and brought over Essie nail polish, not gel, I explained that I wanted a gel manicure, "another 20$ for gel". By this time I'm annoyed because you gave me one price then another... Next as they are applying the powder for the nails she takes a plastic spoon to sprinkle it on top of a SUPER GLUE painted nail... Not right what so ever, they did not even have the proper tools to shape the nail! So terrible I got up and left but was still charged $25 for tips I had to take off that night because they weren't even properly done... Do not come here. They are rude, racists, and do not know what they are doing! I went there and it took the idiot 2 hours to do a fill and then when I complained they argued with me about the time. I've been trying out different nail salons in Stamford and after reading the reviews here I decided to try out Classic.  So disappointed!I normally will go for the more expensive spa pedicures, so opted for the Chamomile spa pedicure after the recommendation of the gentleman next to me.  The lady I had (Kris) had absolutely no idea what she was doing! The manager came over and had to teach her how to do the pedicure for the first 10 minutes. She did not soak my feet, just went right to scrubbing (whaaat?)  First time I've ever gotten a pedicure like that!I'm attaching my photo, which is the end result.  It looked like a child did it.NEVER AGAIN.  What a waste of $65.00Oh and want to add that there was no massage at the end like other reviewers have stated! I've been to only one other local nail salon, and this one is a million times better than the other one!  Pros: -precise, beautiful manicure and pedicure.  -take their time (this is a pro to me... I know some people like to be in and out)-long, good massages as your nails dry-relaxing, slow pedicureCons:-I was given quite a bit of grief for waiting on my friend for 20 minutes (the salon wasn't even close to half way full).  This is obviously a minor con, but it was a bit bizarre and off-putting.  I highly recommend this place if you want a nice, relaxing nail salon experience. Excellent place!!  My only regret is that I don't live closer so I can come here all the time.  I brought my niece here for a birthday treat and we were greeted warmly, the staff are friendly, and the quality of service is high. One of the best pedicures I have ever had. Clean and very sanitary. They even use hot stones during the foot massage. The manicure was slightly disappointing. Some of my nails were filed at an angle and were cut to different lengths after asking for them all to be made even. Cuticles were trimmed but not very thoroughly. I'm new to the area and tried this place based on Yelp reviews. They're all spot on. I had a great experience and will definitely go back. I paid $31 for a manicure/pedicure, which I think is outstanding. Every step of the way included a massage -- foot/calf during the pedicure, hand/arm during the manicure, shoulders/neck while my hands were drying. I think most nail salons are pretty standard- - same prices, same services, no real stand out. Until I went to Classic Nails (thank you Yelp!).First, it's $30 for a manicure pedicure which can't be beaten. They also have a frequent visitor card and once you're up to visits, you get a free manicure.The pedicure is amazing.  Every time they take extra care with the massage (aka the best part) and even use hot stones. It never feels rushed.The manicure is just as good, and of course the back massage while drying is my favorite part.The polish has always lasted a while here for me too- weeks for my pedicure and up to a week for a manicure (which for me, is a record).New favorite salon and my monthly go to. I went here for a pedicure at the recommendation of a friend.  I highly recommend it and I will be a repeat customer.For $20, I got a basic pedicure, and it included a hot stone massage of my feet and calves.  As my nails were drying, I also got a really nice back massage.  You really can't beat that price.As far as cleanliness goes, this salon is great.  I saw various autoclave machines throughout the salon, a clear sign that there are sanitary conditions.  I will definitely be coming back. I came here the morning of a wedding and I was really pleased with their service and attention to detail. My friend and I both got manicures and pedicures here on Saturday morning. We got seated together right away and didn't have to wait. They didn't try to up sell us on any additional services and just got it done. During the pedicure, they spent a lot of time buffering our feet, cutting our cuticles, and massaging our feet. This may not be great if you're in a hurry but if you want to be pampered, this is the place to be. They even used hot stones to massage our legs which is a nice touch. My toes were flawless and my feet/legs felt refreshed. With the manicure, they give you a nice massage which is typical. However, this was not your average 2 minute massage, this was a solid 10 minute massage with a woman who put effort into it. I actually started thinking that they were going to charge me for it lol.The epic massage actually continued when I was drying. Yes, you get about 20 mins worth of a massage included in your mani/pedi!  I actually messed up one of my nails before I was fully dry and my manicurist quickly cleaned it up for me with a smile on her face. I have been harassing my mom all weekend to take me to go get our nails done [manicure for me, pedicure for her]. She finally told me on Sunday afternoon to find a good place near us [since we just moved here from Canada] and we'd go. So I came to Yelp and found Classic Nails. I called and made an appointment for 4:30 [about 2.5 hours ahead of time]. When we got there, they were packed! My mom was sat down within about 5 minutes of getting there, but sat in her massage chair waiting for someone to do her pedicure for about 15 or 20 minutes. I sat on the couches waiting for a person for at least 10 or 15 minutes, but the man who did my nails was there immediately. I got a french manicure [$15] for the first time in my life. I always thought that salons use those little strips of tape to outline the french tip, but the guy doing my nails free-handed them, which THOROUGHLY impressed me. He wasn't very chatty, which I appreciated because I am not very talkative when I'm getting my nails done [not sure why, since I'm a Chatty Cathy usually haha]. He did a very efficient [he was done my nails start to finish in about 15 minutes] and beautiful job.I ended up sitting at the dryer for a while since my mom's pedicure [$20] took longer than my nails. They have a big bowl of lollipops, which I took advantage of, at the dryer station and a woman comes around and offers massages. I did not take her up on the massage because I have a wicked sunburn on my shoulders, but next time I go, I will definitely be taking advantage of the free massage [since I have read such wonderful things about that here on Yelp]!
