My Mom introduced me to Fancy Nails. I've been going there for a few years now and I couldn't be happier. I always have a uv gel fill done and also a spa pedi. My daughter also gets her eyebrows waxed and has a gel manicure done. I've never had any issues here or left unsatisfied. I used to really love this place. They did such good work and I would tell everyone to go here. Now I avoid this place because any time I go, I leave with cuts and/or bruises from techs that would rather speed through your service than actually take the time to focus on you as a customer. Fancy Nail Salon is easy to get to, plenty of parking. It isn't fancy by any means, but it's a normal building. I came for a manicure and callus removing pedicure. The regular manicure was $13 and the pedicure was $35. They don't charge tax which makes me wonder if they even pay taxes. Anyways, i was super uncomfortable because the woman doing my pedicure named Dou Dou and the woman next to her named Joy wouldn't stop talking in Chinese. It felt like they were talking about me because they would look at me and laugh or say something and look at me or my feet. It had been since the fall that I had a pedicure which is obviously why I asked and paid extra for a callus remover. When i finally looked up when I caught them doing it the OTHER woman asked if I wanted water. The service in general was pretty bad- i did leave a $10 tip on my $45 dollar total only because I knew i was overdue for a pedicure. They didn't help me with my coat (when my nails were wet) she didnt speak to me at all, or ask if i was satisfied. I never saw the staff clean any of the utensils or foot tubs in between clients. It's really difficult to find a nice salon in the area that isn't over priced or a "spa". Clean salon with great color choices. The workers are friendly and they do a wonderful job! Great pedi and gel. Read Less

I work in this area from time to time and they were able to fit me in at the last minute for a regular mani pedi. I wasn't looking for a super relaxing experience, just someone to clean up my nails. They gave me flip flops and toeless socks (its cold!). They were extremely friendly and I will have to try this place again when I have more time Read Less

Totally overpriced for the service. Got a spa pedicure and it was just like getting a run of the mill pedicure. Heels were still very rough Whatever you do, don’t smudge! You’ll catch attitude from them and they do a crappy job fixing it. Won’t be going back Read Less

I scheduled an appointment for a gel at Fancys for the first time on a Monday (non-holiday) at noon. I arrived on time and was told I had to wait 5 minutes. 5 minutes turned to 15. Once I was in the chair, the manicurist rushed big time. She wanted to put 3 coats of a dark gel nail polish on my nails and I told her two was fine. Since she was in such a rush she began to put a third coat on one of my nails before I stopped her. She also did not add cuticle oil to one hand because she was in such a rush. I've been going there for years. They do a wonderful job on any service you request. One of the manicurists recently purchased the salon. It seems like more gel polish colors than before. They have some new types of polishes. The salon is clean. The foot baths are lined with a new plastic cover for each pedi. The instruments are in sealed bag for each client. I went here to get a little pampered and I got just that. Their pedi was very relaxing and the gel set I got received tons of compliments! The only thing is that it seems to be on the pricier side, but being new to the state of CT their prices seem pretty competitive for the area. Would 100% recommend! Read Less

Great nail salon. The people are very nice. The prices are average for nail salons in the area (about $60 for gel manicure and regular pedicure). They give awesome complimentary back rubs. My gel manicure lasted three weeks and looked great. I've found that a lot of nail salons can get very loud and aren't relaxing, but this one isn't too loud and certainly tries to make you feel comfortable. Definitely recommend this place. Read Less

DO NOT GET EYE BROWS WAXED HERE. They completely ruined the shape of my eyebrows and didn't even bother to tweeze them after. Also a time I was there previously they got a call from a customer and were obviously struggling to speak to them because they didn't speak English. So they handed me the phone! Seemed clean. I came on a busy Saturday afternoon. Was asked to come back or wait 20 minutes. Decided to wait. Was in a chair in 10 minutes. They lady spoke english and did an ok job. It was good for the timing and location, although I thought $14 was a bit much for only a manicure. Read Less

I have been looking for a new nail home since my former salon changed owners so I gave fancy nails a try several times.  The staff was pleasant but not overly friendly or talkative.  There were at least 10 people working and I was the only customer so I felt like everyone was staring at me the entire time. The first gel mani I had I was very pleased with. Lasted two weeks, so I went back.  The second time I was there the gel mani was done very poorly, they filed my nails so short that they were painful, and it chipped after a few days.  The other thing I noticed while I was there was the large amount of fruit flys on the wall.  They were everywhere.  Needless to say that was the last time I went there Read Less

I just stopped by here for the first time today during lunch.  I went because it's close to my work and I saw a review on Google saying they were good.  The people weren't the friendliest but that's nothing new and I don't go to salons for conversation. The place was clean and modest.  No high tech gadgets or big screen tvs. But it was a quiet and pleasant environment.  I was very pleased with the french manicure I received.  I don't know the name of who worked on me (no one had name tags) but she had long bangs. She was very precise and continually inspected her workout for accuracy and uniformity.  She took her time and gave me the impression she cared about her work. I was completely satisfied with the results. I don't get manicures regularly but if I'm in need and have time on my lunch hour I would definitely return here. Read Less
