I went on Saturday for a manicure and it’s already chipping! Apparently they put all of their nail polishes in the microwave and you’re not supposed to do that. I’m never coming back. Everyone is rude, my manicurist cut me (and didn’t apologize), I didn’t get a massage (really?), and the same person waxed my eyebrows and did them too much! Waste of money for crappy service. Being new to the area, I have been searching for a new nail salon. Had a standard pedicure today, and I guess my toes look "fine". I mentioned to the technician that I did not see her put a top coat on my nails, and either she didn't understand or pretended not to understand... just kept saying "No... finished, finished". I also noticed that the cut ends/slight underside of each nail is not painted (as they do in other salons to prevent chipping). She also outwardly scoffed at a 20% tip. The man who ran my credit card made an error (on his part) and announced several times quite loudly "No good, no good"! Of course when he processed the card properly, it was fine. I used to go only here a couple years ago and stopped because of bad service and they would file my skin and make me bleed. I went back to get acrylics filled and fixed one. It was extremely over priced, I paid more for a fill than a full set. In less than a week the nail they fixed broke off. the service is terrible and I do not recommend going there. Read Less

This place is just ok. My pedicure was good and standard. Nothing wowed me but my toes look good. I wouldn't go back for a gel manicure. They don't have a great color selection. My technician touched and smudged my nail and told me it was okay. The application of the polish was not smooth. The nails needed more time under the LED lighting but it was a pretty rushed job so my nails weren't fully dry and several smudged almost immediately. Gel should not do that. If i could give them zero stars i would. I definitely will never go back again. I came in to get acrylic nails done and no less than two days later, three of the nails had chipped or fallen off. The first fell off without me even touching it and same with the other two. I am extremely disappointed in the service I experienced at this nail salon. Other than it's clean and new updated facility, I would not recommend this salon. I have been a number of times, each time being more disappointing than the last. The staff I have encountered have been very rude and cold and some untrained. Their prices are too high to justify feeling as rushed and frustrated as I do upon leaving my appointments. When I pay 60 plus dollars for services, I would like to actually enjoy the experience. Unaware of the fact that they close at 7 PM, I went in a few days ago at 6:30 and asked for a manicure and pedicure. I was completely reasonable and understanding when they told me that due to the time they only had time for a pedicure. Much to my surprise, I sat down in the pedicure chair when another technician came over and started working on my nails simultaneously. Not only did she rush through and cut my nails extremely uneven, but there was only one coat of polish applied to my nails and no top coat applied to my nails or toes. I was sent home without even putting them under a dryer and was completely dismissed when I asked to wait and have them dried! By the time I got to my house, two nails and three toes were chipped. What a waste of $50! I would have had much more respect for this salon if they hadn't tried to rush and do my nails and just spent the limited time focused on my pedicure and adequate drying time. Or if they had asked me to come back tomorrow with an appointment when they had enough time for me to have a better experience instead of rushing to make a few extra bucks while closing up. I had considered going back and asking them to fix my chipped/peeling nails and toes as I have in the past, but after this last experience I would rather not waste my time. Words cannot explain how angry I am with this place. If I could give no stars I would. I got gel tips for my first time and 3 days later 4 of them broke. I went back and respectfully told them what happened and they got upset, and took an hour and a half to fix the 4 nails. On top of it, they painted the new ones a different color! Kevin (the very rude man who did them) started yelling at me because I (obviously) wanted them all the same color and he painted the new ones a MUCH darker color. I was embarrassed but kept my calm as he laughed in my face and made a scene. When I got home that evening with my still different color AND might I add different LENGTH nails...another one broke!!! All in all cozy is very good. Clean- friendly- lots of nail polish colors to chose from.  Staff varies and one of my only complaints is sometimes one staff member starts your service and another finishes.  Magazines are ok but they don't keep them up to date. Pretty much the only nail game in the area. I tried another new place that opened nearby and couldn't wait until I could return to cozy. My gel manicures last 2-3 weeks always and same with pedicures. If you want to get waxed go when Mimi is there because she's the best. As some other people mentioned, it can get really busy especially on the weekends. If you know you're going, call and make an appointment in the morning so you have a shorter wait time. Read Less

There is only one place I would go to occasionally for a self-indulgent pedicure.... Cozy Nails... and for the last year I've been working on ridding myself of of nail fungus I developed on my toenails.  I now don't feel comfortable going anywhere. I strongly suggest that anyone contemplating a pedi from this establishment ask them how often they clean out their lines.  In conclusion, I cannot express in words my colossal disappointment in my overall experience. I have been coming here since they have opened and always have such a great experience. Great customer service and if you ever have an issue with your nails or toes or waxing, they will do whatever it takes to fix your issue-regardless if you say something right then and there or come back the next day. On weekends it does get busy so you may have a bit of a wait if you don't make an appointment, but that just shows how good they are!!! Read Less

I tried Cozy Nails for the first time and asked for a gel manicure. While the salon was very clean and the staff was professional - two of my nails chipped within three days of getting the gel manicure. I called the Salon and they told me to come in and they fixed the nails for free. Unfortunately, within 24 hours another nail chipped. The salon I normally use- my gel manicure lasted over 2 weeks. I will not be returning to Cozy Nails. I'll be returning to my regular salon! Read Less

I went in for a fill with gel polish.  The tech who did my nails used powder, but in 3 years of having my nails done, I've never had anyone dip my nail into the powder.  New?  Odd.  When finished, the nails looked nice.  The $50 charge was a big surprise.  Not sure why it was so high; never paid that much before.  Jumped on the train.  2 hours later, I noticed that the shellac (I'd asked for gel) polish was peeling off 2 nails!  I'd only been sitting and reading.  Couldn't believe how easily it continued to peel.  I feel very frustrated and ripped off.  Also thought it odd that the ladies doing pedicures had timers.  Noticed one lady switch from one foot to another after 2 1/2 minutes.  5 minutes total?  Glad i didn't pay for that. I purchased a $65 gift card for my wife's birthday back on May 26th. Somehow the gift card got misplaced or mistakenly throw out. My wife went down to the spa with credit card statement in hand showing the transaction and explained to the manager what had happened. The manager was of NO help and refused to offer service for $65. I would think that with proof of payment in hand, as a goodwill gesture the manager would have provided the service. Read Less

I definitely would be back, clean, must see nail tech carmin, she absolutely excellent with her service,  if in need if wax /trim to eye brows,  very good, and while sitting at the nail dryer complementary massage well worth all of it. Cozy Nails in Old Saybrook tries to not keep the customers waiting, in turn, they often rush through the services. The decor in the salon is very nice, and you can tell that they invest money back into the business. They obviously do a good amount of business judging by their Mercedes SUV and Mercedes cars parked in the back of the salon. When I come to the salon for a mani-pedi, please spend some time on the callouses on my feet! At least pretend to pay attention to me! When you do my manicure, please do not make me have to ask you to do a better job on my cuticles- only to have you tell me that my cuticles are already fine (I hadn't had a manicure in over a year). I would rather have to wait a few minutes to get my mani-pedi, than to have you rush through my "me" time. I don't often get the time to get my mani-pedi, so when I do... please don't ruin my relaxing experience. Very disappointed.  I got a shellac/gel manicure on Friday (paid $30 + tip) and by today (Tuesday), it is already peeling/chipping.  I'm VERY annoyed as I have events this weekend and thought I would have nice nails for them.  I will be sticking with Elegance Nails across the street from now on. I love Cozy Nails, the salon is always spotless! Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. Lots of colors to choose from. I like that they have plenty of pedicure chairs, never a long wait. This is usually my go to nail salon, but lately and especially after my last visit I am completely turned off. I went in for gels, which lasts a while and is pricey so you'd think extra care would be taken. There were air bubbles in the gel, and an extremely uneven paint job. Been twice this summer, great service, very comfortable and a real treat!   Not only excellent manicure, but top products as well.  Had a shoulder massage; wonderful and relaxing.  Reasonably priced, quick to get you seated & served, but take their time to do a great job.  I go there to spoil myself.
