I went here once for a mani pedi. Best part of the pedi is usually the massage. Unfortunately the massage was super weak I could barely tell I was getting one. The polish went on uneven as well. Same for the mani. Yes cheaper than other places but the nail polish was super uneven and she used dirty equipment. I literally saw grime and dirt under the cuticle clipper. She didn't ask if I wanted round or square shaped she just did square. She skipped a bunch of steps in the manicure. Didn't clean under the nails or level out the surface of the nails with the scraper. There was dirt all over the counter and the chairs were falling apart. I was the only one there and I'm not surprised why. Don't sacrifice quality for a lower cost. Not worth it. I felt dirty after leaving thinking of all the unclean equipment used on me. When my nails dryer she was on her phone and never checked them. Also one nail tech was passed out at her station with her head down. I've heard of dirty nail salons and never believed it because I've never experienced one. I hope the salon reads this and makes changes. I like that this place is near my job and is super cheap. But seems like you get what you pay for. I've never been serviced by either of the managers/owners. However, my typical experience there is the technician pretending to care about what she's doing, but totally faking it - my gross cuticles 1 day after a mani are here as proof. The manicure takes WAY too long being that they actually don't do much. That hand massage is a lot like me putting lotion on my hands in 2 seconds. And these are the types of technicians that take particular care in not painting your cuticles, so much that your manicure looks grown out in 2 days rather than a week. The massage is free and good - but it is a most places where you can still get a decent manicure. Love this place. Always have availability, less expensive than anywhere else, nicest people ever. John gives an amazing massage and Stephanie (the owner) is a wizard with waxing and a really lovely person just to talk to. They give you a very generous discount during your birthday month and every 10 visits. Also, very patient with my clumsiness. Had acrylic nails done for the first time... I wanted them short length to look natural and the guy refused to cut them shorter... they were too long, I had to have them filed down elsewhere... lasted one week, already loose and falling off. With every manicure you get a free 5 minute back massage. Very quiet and tidy salon. I walked in and she started working on me right away. She immediately took out cleaned nail supplies and took her time and did a quick hand massage with lotion. In the middle of my massage the owner asked me if i wanted any refreshments. I have never had a bad experience here. The place is not the nicest nail salon that I have ever been in, but the quality of the work that they do makes up for it. Looking at all the good reviews.. Decided to give this place a try. First of all the manicurist rushed thru my gel manicure. I could see the debris under the nail polish. I told him but he just got an attitude to fix it but he still didn't get it clean. Nail polish around my nails which he didn't wipe off. And the instruments used weren't even from a sterile package. Went to get a full set of stiletto nails. My manicurist commented that my desired length was too long (I'm paying for a service. If I want foot long nails that is my prerogative) but eventually gamely settled to the task and my nails turned out perfect. They didn't make the acrylic into a paste like I've always seen - instead they painted on the liquid then shoved my fingers into the powder, which I worried wouldn't be thick enough so they agreed to do the process twice. The thinness of the nails did make for some pain in the filing process and my cuticles were stinging. When I go back to my regular manicurist I'll see whether this full set will hold up. It seems pretty strong right now so I'm optimistic. I'm obviously very particular about my nails and ultimately the process doesn't matter much to me so long as the final product is acceptable. I love this place! I got my mani-pedi done by John. The service was excellent and he was very into details. I love the routine and the extras such as the hotstone and the back massage. The mani-pedi costs $30, which is just a little bit higher than some other nail salons in Norwalk but it really worths the price. I will come back! Read Less

This is the most disgusting place I have been in my entire life. First off, it is the most dingy establishment, the floors are dirty they have no sanitation areas at all. They did my manicure, CUT ME THEN used my tools on the next person who walked in. I have never in my life been more skeeved out by a place in my entire life. I have never in my life been glared at when I went into a nail salon, ESPECIALLY when there was only one other customer in there. I asked for a mani pedi. The pedi part was fine, but I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to decide to get up and do my nails. I had grown out my finger nails and asked for shaping and a regular manicure. She cut my nails down to the quick and the polish didn't even last a day. The only nice thing was the hot stone they used for a "massage" which consisted of them running a hot stone up and down my arm twice. They also did not sanitize their tools between customers which is just disgusting. Read Less

This place is great! I've been trying to find a decent nail place in the 2 years since I've moved to norwalk.  I decided to check out sono nails after reading other reviews on yelp. I agree that the place is just eh in terms of decor, not really fancy. But I sat with Susie and she was fantastic. Spa pedicure and manicure special $70. She really took her time with me and made sure everything was perfect. I got a massage as I was getting my nails done and when I was sitting at the drying station. Now that I found it, this will be my go to place.Its kinda hard to see if you're driving by its Literally next to the new CTown.They use the same parking lot.Very clean. Don't come for the ambiance. But stay for the service and the MASSAGES.I came in for a gel manicure and a pedicure, which both came out to $45, which I thought was very reasonable (considering the gel manicure was involved, which usually bumps the price up). Despite the gel manicure portion being a touch slower than I had hoped (my gal messed up a few nails, but went back to fix and perfect them, which certainly isn't a bad thing), I really enjoyed my experience, and received no less than 4 massages during the process: a HOT STONE foot & leg massage during the pedicure, a fantastic quick shoulder massage by another employee while I was waiting between the pedi and the mani, ANOTHER shoulder massage while I was waiting for my nails to dry, and a final hand massage to complete the process. I'm still relaxed. As I said, don't go looking for glamour & frills: on the outside (and inside) the place looks serviceable at best, but it was friendly, affordable, massage-filled, and they did a great job. Clean and friendly atmosphere. I ordered a gift certificate online for my friends birthday, and even though the address was correct, it never arrived due to what mustve been a postal error.
