Very expensive in my opinion. I got home and my nail polish was smudging and coming off. I was extremely busy so I went back the following day. At first they were kind of rude. They wanted me to get gel polish and pay 10$ ! After stating that I will pay nothing because no matter what polish I had it should not have smudged and came off within hours of being done. I have never had such a terrible experience at a nail salon. I came here because of a recommendation I received from a client but will never return. The prices here are a little bit higher than normal but I came to relax before heading out of town to attend a funeral. My nails were done by an older woman whom I believe to be the owner. In between cutting my cuticles and the sides of my fingers with a nail file and having her associate yell at the younger girls, this experience was less than relaxing. Read Less

I'll preface my review by saying I am extremely picky when it comes to my nails. I have very thin nails and use gel overlays to strengthen them so need fills every couple of weeks but always insist on keeping my real nails (no tips). I've been going to 90's Nails in the Brass Mill Center since it opened (early 90's) with the occasional attempt to change but always ended back there 'til I got a serious infection in my big toe from being cut during a pedicure. This alarming experience pushed me to try this new salon around the corner from my house on New Haven Road across from the Dunkin. I am absolutely thrilled to have found Leilani, the staff are warm, friendly and attentive, they are Hispanic and Korean and do an amazing job and none of the "foreign language" chatter and giggling that makes you feel talked about and uncomfortable at some other salons - just obviously work-related interchanges. I've been three times (today will be my fourth) and have been perfectly satisfied each time, in fact Lisa did my nails last time and I will be asking for her every time now as it was the best job I have EVER had done and four weeks later ... yes 4!!! ... I have no lifting, chipping or damage. They hand-shape the cured gel with files, so there is much less burning/discomfort than the "dremel tool" approach I have experienced everywhere else with my thin nails. Yes, the prices are a little higher than most, BUT ...and it's a big BUT ... the gel fill includes a manicure, with hot stone massage, scented moisturizing gloves, cuticle treatment ... not the bare minimum (just nail gel) that you get at the majority of nail salons without paying for an actual manicure as well. Whilst you're sitting there you also get a complimentary back and neck massage by one of the other all-female nail technicians!!The pedicure was equally delightful ... hot stone massage and instead of slicing off callouses with a razor blade, I was offered (for a few more dollars) a callous treatment which I would highly recommend. A gel is applied, wrapped in plastic and in just a few minutes the callouses rub right away with no cutting/pain! Again a hot stone massage was included and a heated pad placed behind my back on the massage chair for the duration of the pedi. The salon is clean and well organized and they have the option for you to have a box (no charge) with your own tools (files etc.) identified by your name and a number. Read Less

I just left the salon paying $97 for a set and a BASIC pedicure.... I am so far beyond unhappy. My nails look awful, it took THREE HOURS, I sat there the whole time thinking about leaving. Then when I went to pay I paid NINYT SEVEN DOLLARS?!?!?! The tech didn't even cover the nail completely with building gel and some parts of the nail extension was exposed. She just put gel polish over it. My gel polish looks sooooooo lumpy!!! I don't mind paying a lot of money for my nails, but I really don't feel like they are worth $100. I arrived at 2:00 and was told they were finishing the customers currently there and then closing. They did not honor my appointment nor did they have any way of contacting me. I finally got a chance to go there last week for a manicure and pedicure.  Very expensive -- the total for a spa pedicure and a regular manicure was $62.  I was looking at the colors that I wanted to use when the technician came over to hurry me in my choice and then mock me after when I changed my mind, as if I was causing her some type of annoyance.  The manicure was just ok - I used OPI nail polish, which was chipped and old looking within three days (I can do my own nail polish that lasts much longer).  In addition, she left numerous parts of cuticle uncut and rough areas on my nails that I had to cut off myself. After cutting my cuticles, she dipped the cutters in alcohol and put them back with her instruments instead of in the autoclave. She did not talk to me at all.  The only good part was that another technician massaged my shoulders for a period of time during the manicure.  Then we switched over to the pedicure.  When I came in, I asked to do the manicure first so my nails could dry while my feet were done. No one told the technician so she prepared the pedicure bath first.  When we went over, the water was cold and she did not change it.  The spa pedicure was not worth it at all. I have dry heels with lots of callous build up and I asked her to shave that for me.  She said she would and then used this large grater on my feet and then made fun of how much dead skin was coming off.  I couldn't tell at the time because my feet were wet, but that made no difference in the look or feel of my feet when they dried.  She used scrub and lotion and other typical "spa" materials but rushed through the massages with a heavy hand before pushing my feet back into the water. All in all, it was a really bad experience and my pedicure polish has already lifted and had to be changed.  What a waste of a lot of money. Read Less

I really hate to do this but I'm REALLY not happy. I was so enthusiastic about them opening and couldn't wait to experience a brand new salon. My first visit was amazing! A full set of gel nails, the massage, hot wraps for your neck, hot stones and moisturizing gloves for your hands....I mean A1 experience. The owner, Lisa did my nails. After two weeks I went back for a refill. Although, I was surprised that four nails broke before my refill was due. Lisa told me to come in at 6:30, although they closed at 7. I get there only to have someone else do my nails. She begin to soak off my gel, which I was surprised about but I figured maybe she was going to do the gel over. She then filed and shaped my tips rapidly and proceeded to paint my nails without even replacing and repairing my 4 broken nails! I stopped her to ask her what was she doing and she started speaking to Lisa in their language. Finally, very frustrated, she begin to do my refill, rushing at this point because she screwed up. In my opinion any professional should know what to do in that situation. It turned out be a really rushed and bad job but I let it go so they could close the shop down and get home. Two days later I had 5 nails that were all cracked on the sides. So I went back to the shop and Lisa agreed to fix them. When I got there she tried to talk me into getting a manicure telling me that I needed a NEW full set and that she wouldn't be able to fix them free of charge. She became very irate, yelling and being very loud with me. I was so surprised because she was so sweet up until that point. I told her I didn't want to argue, as she had customers and that wasn't good for her shop. She finally calmed down and agreed to fix them as we originally discussed. I've been getting my nails done for several years and I've NEVER been treated that way nor have I ever had an experience like this. It's literally 5 days later and I have 5 cracked nails! One was so bad that it ripped off at work, causing excruciating pain and lots of bleeding. I have NEVER experienced anything like this and I would NEVER go back nor recommend them. They are so nice in the beginning but beware. MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS!!! Read Less

I love going to see Mimi ! She is a wonderful nail tech, she does and excellent job, pretty much perfect. She always makes the time for me, they close at 7pm. I can call at 630 and if she's free she will stay a little later just for me! That is the best customer experience! I also love the massage on your neck, head and back at the same time I'm getting my manicure. Hot pads and all! She also recommended me gloves infused with aloe & other natural remedies for my hands. Really wonderful nail salon! Brand new in Naugatuck and sorely needed. Got a delightful spa pedicure this afternoon and I am thoroughly pleased. Atmosphere is tastefully done, staff was incredibly friendly and polite. We had a lovely conversation which is not always the case when getting your nails done.  The owner, Lisa, is just a doll, beautiful personality.  And those pedicure chairs!!
