Three days into my gel nail manicure and pedicure they are already starting to chip... after 85 dollars I was hoping it would be worth it. They were very nice and I didn't wait at all which was nice, they also give you a nice back massage when you're waiting for your nails to dry! This place! On Saturday evening I sent them a Facebook message asking if they were open on Sunday. The response was within the hour and positive. My party of two arrived mid-afternoon on Sunday and were seated right away for our pedicures. For $30 you get a relaxing soak, massaged calves, paraffin (for your feet!), lots of moisturizer, a thorough clipping, brushing and cleaning of nails, exfoliation for the rough areas, polish and a great neck and upper back massage. We opted to have our big toes painted with flowers (selected from a broad menu of options and $5 extra). Jenny and Dian are amazing. Actually everyone in there is amazing. Everyone gets along with one another including the customers with customers. They fixed my nails with no questions asked and I will most definitely going back again and again. Especially since it's a local business! Updated: Last 3 times I've been here, I've not had a good experience. Losing faith in this salon every time I go. Last time I was here, I got a mani/pedi and paid in advance for what I thought was everything. Well, come to find out, they forgot to charge me for my design on my polish. Normally I'd be happy to pay the difference, but they knew from the beginning I was on a mild time crunch, especially since they had me sitting there for 30 minutes with only 1 staff member bu...sy with a customer and the rest eating lunch or watching tv. They could have had me soaking my feet while they ate but they just had me sit in the waiting area wasting time. Then, when it was time to leave, I went to walk out the door and leave to go get my child from school, they stopped me asking me to pay the difference in my nails and the design. Again, not normally a problem but I don't carry cash and I'm not running my card for $5 when I just left a very gracious tip. I more than covered the $5 in the tip. I had to COME BACK IN and pay the difference after stopping at an ATM to get cash and paying another $3 for the fee. This is just one of a few less than reasonable situations where the customer has had to compensate for the staff. I'm going to start going back to autumn nails in uncasville. They may be slower, but they're at least responsible enough to not make the customer pay for their forgetfulness. Not to mention, I had to damn near start my own pedicure this time. Left me sitting in water for half an hour. I had to put the blue crystals in myself nearly 40 mins into sitting there. Then, someone walks in (like we did) and is fit right in for the same service I was told they didn't have time to do on me (full set). What the hell? Ridiculously bad service yet again. The staff was nice and pleasant to be around, the price was lower than a few other places, but I'm not happy with the quality of work. I got a full set of pink & whites along with a French pedicure on Saturday (9-3-16). The pedicure felt great! I loved the massage & my nails after everything was done, but after a day the polish on my toes started chipping off. The next day I noticed my nails already look like they need to be filled. I don't get my nails don't often, but I should need a fill after 2-3 days. So now 7 days later, they look like they need to be filled even more & I don't want to go back again. I just wanted to feel nice & get a little pampered for the wedding I was preparing for. So I guess next time I'll just opt for the more expensive place, I got what I paid for :-(. Read Less

Took us forever to find a good, consistent, salon. Once we came to Rainbow Nails we became regulars every two weeks. They even have a "frequent buyer" type card and after ten visits you get a free one. I get so many compliments on my nails and always recommend them to everyone. Read Less

My mom and I have been searching for a good nail salon for a few months and give each place two chances. We found our place at rainbow nails. They were just closing up on a Thursday night and when we walked in they got right to work. They gave us time to decide on our colors and designs. They did a great job filing and getting the previous mess I was left with in order and the new acrylic that was added looked like my real nails it was so perfect. Instead of using one of their designs I brought in a photo I found on Pinterest and they matched it perfectly. My mom ended up totally changing her mind and got the gel mood color and she's obsessed with it. They had patients with two very indecisive people very close to closing time and we are very happy customers that will definitely be returning. Pricing was on point and they offer free parafin wax as well as a punchcard and after the tenth punch you get a free service. I can't wait to use it on a nice pedicure. Read Less

I'm a little torn with how to rate this, because the workers there were very friendly.  There was a little bit of a communication barrier, but they were eager to please and their rates were very affordable.  The finished product immediately after was lovely.  That being said, I can't rate on solely the staff; I have to rate the quality of the service and my overall experience as well.In the past, I have gone to the mall for my manicure/pedicure just because it's right there when I shop.  That mani/pedi lasted months, I kid you not.  Not in perfect shape, but the polish still looked decent for about 8-10 weeks after.  It was a little more expensive than Rainbow Nails, but I guess you get what you pay for, because within 24 hours of visiting Rainbow Nails, two of my fingernails started to chip.  For that quality, I could have done it at home.  I was disappointed, but as it was only $12, I'm not complaining too much. My spa pedicure was a bigger disappointment, as it costed $50 (even though their brochure advertised it as $45).  It was some parts pleasant, some parts painful.  I ended up with several blisters on one foot, which I've never had happen from a spa pedicure before.  At some points, the leg massage was just too rough - instead of feeling relaxed, I just wanted it to be over.  It felt like my legs were just being scraped raw.  The hot stone massage on my legs and the wrap was much nicer than the hand massage with lotion.  So far, the pedicure hasn't chipped at all.I'm a bit torn as to if I will return.  The affordability and friendliness of the staff work in their favor, but I definitely would not get a spa treatment there again.  If I do go back, it will be for a basic mani or pedi without the extras.  A lot will depend on how long this mani/pedi lasts - I'd rather go back to the mall where I know it will last awhile rather than pay a cheaper price and get a shoddier quality. If you are looking for a relaxing environment while getting your nails done, this is not the place. If you desire to ask questions of the owner be careful because she will take it personal. Including raising her voice and exuding sarcasm. When getting (1) nail repaired, do not expect it to look like the other (9) when you leave. If these things don't matter to you, then by all means stop by there. As for me, I'll continue to patronize businesses with stellar customer service. Rainbow Nails was an awesome experience!! We are staying near by and wanted an alternative to the Foxwoods spa. This was a special girls weekend as my friend is getting married and they really made the experience special. There were three of us which they accommodated easily.
