Where do I begin? I was referred to this place by a good friend of mine. I have been trying to find a good nail place with decent prices for some time now so I decided to give this place a try. We show up and there are a few customers in front of us. After almost a 2 and a half hour wait (to be fair it was Easter weekend) my friend and I were next and we were the last customers of the night. The nail tech who did my nails was quick and particular. He gave me a fill and topped it off with a gel polish. One would assume that he did a poppin job on my nails. I mean they looked poppin when he finished and was super pleased! I didn't even mind the wait. 2 days later the gel polish, yes you read right, gel polish chipped on one of my nails. I was super upset but couldn't go to the nail place for them to fix it because like I mentioned it was Easter weekend and I was too busy to go back! I just filed my nail down so the chip wasn't visible. not even a week since getting them done I see that my actual nail on the side was chipping! This was my whole point of getting an acrylic overlay, to protect my real nails from chipping! I continued to file the nails that were chipping on the side because i just didn't have the time to go back. That weekend I couldn't take it and called to be seen because the actual acrylic had chipped! I was told to go and they would fix it. I was upset and mad at this point. I get sat right away and one of the nail techs fix my nail in a rushed manner and I was out the door 20mins later. I get home, and do my normal Saturday routine and the exact same name that was fixed maybe 2 hours prior started to chip AGAIN!!! The acrylic and the polish at this point chipped. I buffed it so that it wouldn't get caught in my hair or clothes. Sunday I had to clip my nail down because the acrylic came off on half the nail! AT this point I have vowed to not go back. Throughout this past week another nail began to chip (acrylic and polish) today Friday April 13th 2 nails have chipped and the acrylic have come completely off! Original date of nails done was March 31st. It has been barely 2 weeks since I've gotten my nails done and i already need to get them redone on an EMERGENCY status! Never in the years that I have been getting my nails done has this happened! I believe it to be their acrylic to be old as well as their polishes! Their prices are cheap but for a reason! I would NEVER go back and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Customer service horrible. How do you not accept credit/debit cards on certain days and don't put a sign on the door so that customers can go elsewhere!! Common sense is what it's called

I will NEVER step foot into this nails shop again, why you ask. I'll tell you, so yesterday I went into this place. I've never had my nails done from these people, but I know a couple of people who go to them including two of my family member, in which I heard their really good at what they do. Long story short I go get my nails done yesterday, the owners wife did a pretty good job. I go home wake up the next morning and my thumb nail is chipped, Bang. Called the shop in the Morning and told her what had happened, she then proceeded to tell me to come in so she can see it and she'll fix it. I come in go to the back and show her, she said oh you must have did something to make it break, I'm not What. She then said I'll fix it but your going to have to wait. I said cool, so after about 20mins of me sitting there her Husband Spencer (I guess that's his name) tells me to come over and he'll fix it, I sit down and he goes your nails aren't metal their ACRYLIC. I said WHAT I know that, he goes we do good work here and you broke your own nail, it wasn't our doing. I said nothing more because I know how I get. He was very rough with me and he cut me about three time before I told him I work in a medical so when I said that he didn't cut me again. He finished I said thank you he said nothing... disgusting

They do nails very good here.. my shape is always on point. I like Lee or Steven to do it. only 4 out of all of them. Two of the others I got my nails done by , before I even needed a fill my nails were cracking in the middle! Lily is sweet and does eyebrows and lashes well too . Her husband Spencer on the other hand is VERY rude.. he ALWAYS walks around looking miserable and when you give him your money he doesn't even say thank you! Only once out of all times I went did I hear him say thank you.. he IS rude! For what I don't know because we are the customers keeping his establishment going.. they do sometimes talk in their native language about people (if you ask a question or let them know something is wrong with your nail etc)..

I'm from Hartford and have lived in New London for 18 months. I love New London, however, I haven't found a nail salon comparable to Nails By the Corner on Farmington ave in Hartford. They are well staffed, professional,friendly and quick. I've been a customer for over 7 years.

OMG how unprofessional her husband SPENCER is... I WILL NO longer TOLERATE HIS DISCOURTEOUS and DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR... DO NOT COME HERE! Tried this place out this week. The man cut me, burnt me with the drill and they refused to fix a job that was not well done. Not only that, I came back the next day and the prices had changed overnight. The pedicure bowls are not sanitary, and neither are the tools. Not to mention, Spencer's wife, Lily, is incredibly rude.

Looks nice but not very clean. Reuses gloves and those things you put in between your toes. I tell myself I will never go back but I keep giving it a try. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Once you are assigned a nail tech, you will be theirs forever. There is no changing! The lady I got barely touches you when giving a "massage" glops too much nail polish and did not wash her hands before or after giving someone a wax. I had to wait for my polish to dry and I had her redo one nail so she was "multitasking". Ok so I will never go back there this time around.
