Jenny has been doing my nails now for 2 years and does an excellent job. She does not overcharge like a lot of the nail salons do in the area and she goes above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. I Drive 45 minutes twice a month to get my nails done. Did I have to give it a star? Asked for a manicure and a pedicure. Got half of both. Nice staff. Older woman did my service - which is why I didn't Complain so much. Cuticles on mani and pedi were basically not touched- she literally moved the clipper around not removing anything! It was the most frustrating experience ever. Place was super cute... Clean and right to the point. They spoke English and had a happy nice inviting set up. Prices are great. I was scheduled for a pedicure (chairs were comfy) but changed my mind for a polish change. My tech still took her time and did a wonderful job. I'd be happy to come here again. Ugh my usual place was soooo busy this morning! So I found this place. I give them one star for being nice and price was not bad. I was wondering why this place wasn't busy on a Saturday morning. They did such a horrible job on my nails. The owner did my nails so I was expecting a phenomenal job. But they came out so bad. The filing job wasn't horrible. But once she painted them I was literally sitting in the chair about to start crying. I hate complaining and arguing so I chose just not to say anything, and will never return to that place again. Great nail salon with great prices and great staff! Full UV gel set (fake nails) is $35 which is HALF the price of salons in the West Hartford center. Just went for my third nail appt and first pedicure and finally ready to write a review.  I love this salon!  Since my long-time nail tech retired, I've had a hard time (a) finding a salon that does acrylic, and (b) finding a salon that i actually like.  I am so happy that I found Jenny and Nail Art & Design (with a little help from Yelp!).  Jenny does a great job on my nails, but the pedicure was something to write home about! Jenny's place is awesome! I'm new to the area and I've been coming here since I moved last summer. Not only is it super affordable, but you also can have a blast with the ladies while youre at the shop. Jenny does my nails to absolute perfection, meeting my every expectation and need (which are different every time I come). Sandy is a true artist. I love this nail salon. All the artists do an amazing job, and you will always enjoy a laugh while your there. The owner Jenny is super amazing. I love her and she always knows her clients by name which is a great trait in the business she is in. My nails are always on point when I leave and for 3 weeks straight I will get complaints on the colors and designs. This place also does eyelash extensions. They are so natural looking you will never want to see yourself without them. I encourage anyone who has thought about eyelash extension before but been spectacle to go out and try nail art salon Jenny well do an amazing job for you you will absolutely love them. I'm from NYC and I go to school here in Hartford now. My roommate and I have been looking for a good affordable nail salon and this is now our go-to spot. It's so clean and they do nails well for a fill in its only $15 and they have nail polishes like Essie and Opi. The ladies there are really nice too. I love this place for many reasons; most importantly all equipment is cleaned and sterilized with a sterilizer machine, and all the staff are respectful and actually talk to you and not each other while service is being rendered. This is the only place I trust for pedicures as cleanliness, quality and professionalism are all very important to me. And the added bonus is great prices. 5 starts!! I drive 20 mins just to come to this place, when I have a nail salon around the corner from me. Ask for jenny or sandy you will not be disappointed !!!!!! I have had two very positive experiences at this nail salon.  The first time I went, my hands were a wreck due to an allergic reaction I was having to latex, and I needed to have my acrylic nails removed.  Jenny was not only generous in taking the time to wrap each finger in gauze with the remover, rather than soaking my hands in it.  But she was also very kind and sympathetic.  The second I came, months later, to have gel nail polish applied, she did a beautiful, professional job which lasted well over three weeks.  Once again, she took her time and did a great job.  The atmosphere of the salon is intimate and familial, cordial and generous.  The work is professional and long-lasting.  I would recommend Jenny and her salon to anyone seeking a beautiful job. I absolutely love this place! I tried a few salons when I first moved to CT and wasn't impressed with the quality of the product, the pricing or the service I received elsewhere. When I found Nail Art I was so pleased, I've been going back every two weeks for the last 4 years. You cannot beat the prices but the little touches like the hot towel after every manicure and pedicure really put this salon above the rest. The owner is very nice and sociable which makes coming in to get your nails done more like a chance to catch up with a friend. She and her staff are good with designs and are willing to try anything you ask for (I've asked for some silly Halloween inspired designs in the past). I give this salon 5 stars because to me it is the whole package. She even does eyelashes and waxing! I had a very negative experience at this nail salon. My friend and I tried it for the first time because they run a special Monday - Wednesday, a mani/pedi for $25, before tax. This sounds too good to be true because it is. I should have left right when we arrived because I could tell that all the small selection of nail polishes was old and not kept well. The pedicure wasn't good at all. She did the normal filing and buffing, but she got the pink nail polish all over my skin. Normally, that's fine because they usually clean it off with polish remover, but she left it there! The polish on my toes has already begun to chip only three days later. Also, this was the worst manicure I have ever had in my entire life. The woman haphazardly filed my perfectly square-round nails into uneven, crooked shapes. It's like she wasn't paying attention at all. She ruined 2 months of nail growth in 10 minutes. The polish chipped the same night I got the manicure. Aside from the poor quality work, the employees were very unprofessional. There were only two women in the salon when we arrived. They were nice at first and made small talk with us, but one woman answered her personal cell phone and had a full conversation while painting my friend's toes. The other woman's 12 year old daughter ran into the salon about half way through and they had a very odd conversation. The first woman, who had had the phone call during my friend's pedicure rushed out and left before the business closed for the day. She left before my friend had even payed to get to her child's school. Now, I understand having to leave to get your child, but she should not have started and rushed through a job that she could not have completed with quality. Overall, this was a very unprofessional staff. The entire process only took one hour. Normally, a mani/pedi would take upwards of 2 hours at any other place. Don't waste your time at this place. The poor service and quality of work is not worth the price, even with the Monday - Wednesday discount! Read Less

This place is halfway decent, but could be greatly improved. I paid $25 yesterday for a pedicure - no clue if that is a good price. The Vietnamese woman who they gave me first spoke little English and that was a problem. She was also very stern-faced and rather unpleasant. She could be greatly improved by smiling a little. I was then transferred to another woman who could speak English. She was better, but so taciturn. Could hardly get a word out of her. Even when she wanted me to lift my foot out of the water, she was very abrupt in her manner. The pedicure was okay - she managed to smudge the polish on two toes, but it was a pleasant enough experience getting the pedicure. Also I didn't like the flatscreen TV blaring infomercials the entire time I was there - extremely loud and annoying. The temp. was in the high nineties yesterday - would have been great if they had offered me a drink of water, etc. The woman who gave me the pedicure is pregnant and will be unavailable until next summer.
