I normally go to a different nail salon but tried Azena today. The location is convenient near Trader Joe's and Pier 1.  There is no price list visible and I was shocked when I got a basic gel manicure and was charged $37.25. I've been sitting with my feet in pedicure tub for 30 minutes.  The owner is sitting st front not helping.  Then the technician told me I needed my soles to be smoothed.  I told her my feet have been in water for 30 minutes how can you expect them to be smooth.  Used to be good not so much anymore Read Less

I couldn't be happier with my experience here. Talk about feeling like you're the only client that matters! I came here for a pedicure. I felt well taken care of the whole time and my nail technician (Yoyo) paid great attention to detail. You could tell she really cared about providing me a great experience. Awful pedicure. Rushed job. Cold water. Everyone got a massage at the end but nobody offered me one. For my waxing - she had no clue what she was doing and had a hard time finding a piece of the wax to pull off (they use the kind that peels off without paper). Most painful wax ever that required much plucking afterwards. I will never visit this a Salon again. It was impossible to communicate with the woman who did my pedi and waxing. Read Less

I had a gift certificate for a mani/pedi, and was charged an extra $12 for a crappy 10 minute leg massage, which is included at neighboring competitors, Plus its a HUGE place with barely any staff. I popped in Because my regular place was closed and asked them to fix two acrylics and get a polish change. Something so simple ended up taking two people and an hour to complete.  They neglected to tell me they didn't have acrylic and just went ahead and put a uv gel on instead. Which I would be fine with if they at least told me beforehand, and if they looked the same when finished. They clearly look different then the rest of my nails and not in a good way. I also picked a matte nail polish out of their selection. And then they did not have a matte topcoat, so the nail polish ended up being shiny... this whole experience kind of aggravated me. Not to mention the lady sitting next to me had a 10am appointment for a uv set, and wasn't even finished when I left after noon. I consider myself an easy-going customer, and the staff was pleasant enough, but I won't go back. As someone who works in customer service, it's best to over communicate, and this place did the opposite unfortunately. The one in Westport is better. If you're looking for the fastest basic services this is the place for you. Come in, pay me & get out. That's the feel you get at this rushed salon. Upsides- the salon is fairly clean, there's plenty of non gel options and plenty of space for multiple customers. They also have one lady who with lightly massage your back for 5 minutes at the nail table and 5 minutes at the drying table which is not worth paying for in my opinion. Unfortunately the cons of the service I was provided would not make me come back. Pedicure- Where's the hot water? Seriously, I asked for hot water and got cold. Where's the leg massage? I even said I wanted one. Where's the options? There was no communication from "coco" my entire visit! She spoke to the other nail tech the entire time. She didn't check for ingrown toe nails or ask how I liked anything. The massage chair really sucked. Maybe I got one that's breaking down. The coolest part of this experience was a bag tied around my ankles covering my heels.  A spread of exfoliant then rinse, a spread of lotion then wipe off, not really giving any effort here. There was no clean up after applying polish, seriously? My legs don't feel silky even after an exfoliant and my heels don't feel any smoother after a brush against the scraping tool like other salons I've been to. Manicure- just as rushed if not more than the pedi. I went to the restroom before getting my nails done and received a mani in the same amount of time as the person who I came with when they started before me. Again no communication on how I want my nails shaped or inquiring about a design. I had to ASK for coco to polish the sides of my nails. Just ridiculous. No lotion on the hands no hand rub or even an arm rub! You guys are missing out on a lot of up sales by being so speedy and uncommunicative with your customers. We come here to relax and have something nice done for ourselves. You completely squashed that for me today. I had several designs in mind for both nails and toes but why bother asking for a service you aren't happy to provide. Selected this spot on a whim desperately needing a manicure.  Don't let the fancy city-like decor fool you.  The quality of workmanship by my manicurist was shoddy and haphazard.  Went in for a straightforward manicure with a simple clear coat polish.  Not only were my nails filed obnoxiously crooked, but the entire experience felt rushed and underwhelming.  Maybe they're not interested in return business.  They seem to be more concerned with quantity, not quality. I used to work next door to the Westport location and loved it. When I got transferred I was so bummed, I loved getting manicures at Azena Westport. When I saw that they opened up in Fairfield I was stoked! Fairfield Azena is just like Westport and I love it. The inside is gorgeous, clean, and very inviting. They do a really good gel manicure, and the equipment is embedded into the nail station which is pretty cool. They also use disposable tools, which is nice for those concerned about hygiene issues. Absolute WORST pedicure I've ever had. Will never go back.  Nails were chipped in a day.  No massage. If you didn't pay the $15 for callous you got absolutely nothing.  See yah.
