I've been going to Kim's Nails for almost 3 years now off of a recommendation from a co worker. Always clean, quick to get in without an appointment and relatively inexpensive compared to other nail salons in CT. However my last experience ( only FIVE days ago) was horrendous. As soon as I went in I got treated so poorly because I couldn't understand what the woman was asking me. Yes she had an accent but that wasn't the problem! She was wearing a mask so her voice was muffled so when I asked what several times she gave me an attitude. I sat down and had a nice woman working on my nails until randomly she tells me to move my seat to the next chair... uhm ok... not sure why but I moved. My new seat had pre shaven nail filings on the towel so I waited thinking they would give me a new towel to put my hands on but NOPE. I wanted to leave right then and there but they already stripped my nail of the original polish and didn't want to leave like that. The woman I originally had started working on a totally different client and a new woman who spoke no English whatsoever was now working on my nails on the nasty used towel. I'm getting married in a few months so I wanted to ask her to file my nails a certain way but she didn't understand what I was saying and the original woman had to translate for me. So anyways thought we were on the same page but once she was done I noticed the gel was already far away from my cuticle which is unfortunate. The worst part is that the woman SPLIT my thumb nail and I didn't realize it until two days later when I noticed it underneath the gel. This woman also didn't fix all the air bubbles in the polish so now it's already chipping and I had to file my nails down even more. This is so unfortunate because I loved this place so much but after this experience I'm not sure if I will be returning. Hyun in Vernon is much better! Read Less

I have tried dozens of nail places yet my nails always seemed to chip, break, etc. Kim's nails is awesome!!! It is one of the only places I've found that is extremely cheap, so many gel colors, always able to take you in when you call and consistently does a great job on my nails. I almost always use Kim's but had to use a salon in Tulsa for a Mother's Day outing with my mom... Kim's fixed the AWFUL nails I got with a beautiful new set for basically nothing! Will only use them from now on! Read Less

Today was my first time visiting Kim's Nails and was very happy with my service! Tammy was the nail technician and seemed to be one of the ladies that was in charge. She did very well with making me feel comfortable and gave me great advice about what to do for my nails since I'm a "recovering nail bitter". They were very nice but I didn't like the way they do a gel fill. They put the gel on for the fill and then sanded almost all of it off! I left with my nails looking flat instead of a nice natural slightly rounded nail. So I paid for a gel fill but left with barely any of it actually on my nails. I also had to keep reminding the person doing my nails to not hold my fingers so tight. She had a strong grip and was really hurting me. Though I did love the gel polish I chose. Read Less

So today was my first experience at Kims Nails I got a recommendation from a customer that regularly goes here and I have to say they pay attention to detail and they seem like they never turn someone down I went in and felt so welcome. Don't know the area but looked at the reviews and decided to try Kim's. The service was friendly and very professional. The technician did a Mani and Pedi for me, and she was fabulous! Great job with the nails! Only problem is sometimes it's very crowded and there is an incredibly strong scent when you walk in and it makes me light headed. Other than that, I've only had one bad experience. Read Less

I went to Kim's on a recommendation of a coworker. The salon itself is not remarkable in any way, and the chemical smell is strong, but I got a really nice looking gel fill.  I did make an appointment and had to wait about 15 minutes, which is kind of annoying, but I was very happy with the end result. They have tons of gel polish colors to choose from and their prices are very fair. I would definitely return to Kim's for a very decent, no frills gel fill manicure. Read Less

I went to Kim's Nails as a second choice because the place I normally go to couldn't take me. I now have a new nail place, forget my old one lol. I had a great time in, great service, and friendly people. I really enjoyed getting an amazing and thorough pedicure (by Jen, shes great!) then a fast but effective gel fill and I brought in a design and they did it! This was honestly probably the worst nail salon experience I've ever had. When I was walked in, it took them five minutes to even say hello or acknowledge my presence. When they finally did, they asked what I wanted and I told them I was just there for a manicure. They did not respond to this as everyone working there was preoccupied. I wasn't even told how long the wait would be. I picked out a nail polish, had a seat, and waited over 40 minutes. When my manicure finally began, a very unfriendly guy looked at me and pointed to where I should sit. He was rude and seemed agitated to be working on a Friday afternoon. He was very rough with my nails and made them bleed. While I was soaking my nails, he was trying to discretely text underneath the table. He did this again in between coats. Also, his hands and fingernails were very dirty to the point where I didn't want him to touch mine. He also kept coughing without covering his mouth. At the end, I was not offered a massage, which is one of my favorite parts of the nail salon experience.As for the salon itself, it didn't seem very clean. There were nail shavings everywhere from the last person at our table. The nail polish selection was cheap and many of the polishes available were half dried-up bottles.I paid for the manicure and even tipped the guy, but I will not be returning.
