This was my second visit to five star nail.Both times I made an appointment. During this visit the nail polish bottle would not open. Instead of letting me pick a new color for my toes they used a similar color sitting next us. I didn't like it but I let it go. We sit to do my nails and in the middle of it he says he has to leave. He left in the middle of my last visit too. This explains why he wouldn't let me pick another toenail color, he was in a hurry. So I get passed to someone else. Ok, fine just give me what I want. This girl complained the entire time. She didn't want to do anything extra like I originally asked. And complained I didn't come earlier. I just spent 70 bucks for horrible service & I didn't even get what I wanted. There are plenty of nail salons in this area, I suggest you find another one. Read Less

I came here years back and thought it needed a remodel. All of my friends have been talking about this place, so I decided to go. It had been awhile since I got my nails done. 5 star nails is a great place to get a manicure or pedicure.  Lynn and Jenny do a great job and the price is low for the metro area.  I have gone to Lynn for months now for a gel (Gelish) manicure.  It lasts about 2 weeks depending on what I do.  Lynn is quick and professional and I highly recommend her. First time here. Got a pedicure. They didn't try to up sell me on anything extra. Waited about 5 minutes. I didn't have an appointment so for me that's not a long wait. Probably 8-9 nail techs working. It was full! I had a male nail tech and he was so detailed and the massage was awesome!! Really reasonably priced. Massage chairs work well and it seems pretty clean. Polish selection isn't awesome but I brought my own. Will be back for a pedicure! Read Less

Twenty five for a polish change. Mani 35. I would have been sad to pay that much for this end product. The tech was a nice lady. Which is sad because I liked her but once I got out in to the light I could see how the polish was pooling into the cuticle area which looks amateurish. See pics. The search continues. Read Less

This place smells bad. There are nails and found all over the ground. Not very professional. If that's how  clean you keep the front where costumers can see could you imagine that they don't clean their utensils. Eew Read Less

I have been to Five Star Nails twice now for a gel nail polish switch and I have to say, I am a huge fan! Not only are they very quick and efficient, they just "get it". I typically opt out of a full mani due to time restraints and instead go with the gel nail color, filing, general maintenance, and with Five Star I am in and out within 30 minutes which is perfect for a busy schedule. I've been to places before that take double this easily!My last set of gel polish lasted me 2 weeks before it started slightly peeling up at the base of the nail which is extremely impressive for how much I use my hands (typing all day, catch with my dog, cooking, sports, etc...). Today I went because I had a nail crack mid-way up, which we all know hurts SO BADLY. **DISCLAIMER: The only reason my nail broke was because I went longer than I should have between appointments and had removed the gel on my own...lesson learned on that one because a day after I removed the gel on my own, my nail cracked which is very common for my naked nails.** Back to the review -  I showed up a few minutes after they opened and the same lady who helped me last time was able to help me again this time and she is 2 for 2! I did not catch her name but I will definitely be asking for her for future appointments. First chair on the left for what it's worth.This is the first time I've grown my nails out naturally without acrylic and the way Lady X coats the gel makes them so much stronger so that I can grow them naturally. I've tried in the past and they were just never strong enough until now. Whatever she does, I'm a believer! I came in last Friday evening around 6 pm wanting my arcyllic nails removed and a gel manicure. They had two women carefully start removing the arcyllics and they were fast too! I left with my gel manicure looking amazing (and still does a week later!) I made an appointment that evening to come back the next morning for a pedicure and oh my was that awesome! Came in to get my nails done around 5 o'clock originally was put with an older gentleman. I had extra gel polish on my fingers so it took longer than normal to take off. At 5:30 I was told that the guy had to go pick up someone at 6 and someone else will be doing my nails. It all worked out Andy he ended up doing my nails and they turned out fabulous. My manicurist was incredibly kind and attentive. I really enjoyed speaking with her about our upcoming vacations and long weekend plans. My experience started off so pleasant & relaxing! Unfortunately, the trip took a turn come pedicure time. I was passed onto a different woman who was very rude. She did not make any small talk or introduce herself. She did, however, make stark and judgmental remarks pointing out every scar and bruise on my bare legs. I laughed it off (but was frankly embarrassed as she said these things very loudly) and explained that I am very adventurous but also quite clumsy. I felt uncomfortable. She went on to insist that I am far too pale (I am naturally very fair skinned). I again laughed it off and explained that I burn easily and do not get tan. She then told me I need a spray tan and pointed out that my arms are a shade darker than my legs. If I cared about her opinion of me, I would have left feeling very self-conscious & defeated. I promise you that I was nothing short of nice and conscientious during my visit. I am unsure why this woman treated me so poorly :/ I left a generous tip because my manicurist was so lovely (she even came over to the door to tell me good bye, "It was so nice to meet you, enjoy your vacation!"). I only wish I knew the pedicurists name as to avoid her. I have loved all their other staff I have interacted with! Read Less

Thanks to Yelp, I found Five Star Nails whilst on a grocery shopping trip in the area. A little out of the way from my 'hood, but still a good experience. Shawn was my technician and he was so sweet! While he did my mani/pedi, we talked about our families, where we are both from originally, upcoming vacations - it was like I was catching up with a friend. Normally when I get my nails done I like to sit back and relax without talking, but he was so kind and the conversation wasn't forced at all. I got a gel mani and regular pedi and the prices here compared to other salons was a little less than most. Still going through "sticker shock" coming from California, the land of cheap nail salons. However, Five Star was A-OK and I enjoyed the hour or so with Shawn. He provided his biz card and invited me back anytime. That's the kind of customer service that one cannot forget. Read Less

These guys are fantastic - I've been three times now and am always very impressed with their pedicure services.Basic pedi is only $25 and they do a really thorough job. Plus the nail techs are very friendly and always joke around with me and my sister when we head in.Great spot! Read Less

I used to frequent Five Star for many years and had stopped going due to the fact they were not on my way home and no longer a easy place for me to stop on my way home or on the weekends.I stopped in late Friday afternoon for a pedicure, eyebrow and lip wax.  It felt like coming home.  Still the same friendly faces from the last time I was there and that was easily 5+ years ago.  A very welcoming atmosphere on top of a wonderful pedicure.I will be certain to make this a place to stop on my way home!!! I saw this place when I was desperate for an eyebrow wax, and based on yelp reviews decided to try it out. They took me right away to a private room. I told her I didn't want above the eyebrow waxed because I had been breaking out there. She waxed the rest and offered to pluck above the eyebrow instead. I thought this was a very nice touch and I was really happy with the result. The kicker was when she only charged me $8! I couldn't believe it. I'll definitely make this my new eyebrow place. I do want to note that it definitely has that nail-salon stench that some reviewers below said it doesn't have. I think this is really important to be honest about because pregnant women shouldn't spend time in a nail salon but will sometimes do so if it is well ventilated.
