Rae Wonderland is THE most amazing nail artist I have ever come across. I have been with her since she graduated and will not go to anyone else. I had my fair share of chop shop experiences or getting almond when I requested stiletto so to find someone who has consistency and works extremely hard to further her artistic abilities and creativity is astounding. Amy sounds like spoilt brat who didnt have everyone's eyes on her. Excuse them for not looking at the hair they are cutting,coloring or bleaching to stare right into your eyes for an impossibly uncomfortable greeting. Um wouldn't you want a stylist that is cutting or coloring your hair SHOULD BE KEEPING AN EYE ON YOUR DAMN HEAD! Read Less

I moved to Thornton from New York and this salon reminds me so much of salons in my former home. Tons of awesome designs to choose from- you can have nails from prim to outright gaudy. They do 3D nail art which is fun! lots of seating not much waiting. Friendly staff - A tiny bit aggressive in trying to sell you services but hey they're in a business w thin margins. I love them! Beware the owner is a complete lunatic. I went to Sadie 3 different times for hair, I went to a girl who did my nails (she quit as well as another employee) and I then went to the owner (Darnel) to do my nails. The last time I went to see Sadie their salon had been broken into. I watched Darnel ream their camera company to no end as customers, including myself, were in the salon. All morning I watched them frantically call glass and door shops to get the repair done to their broken door. As they had no luck I called multiple people trying to help them out. No one had the time to do it but my dad offered to board the door and they made a deal for him to fix the door.After numerous doors and trips I guess my dad had said screw it. Instead of Darnel taking this issue up with him she started calling and texting me. I, not knowing he details at that point, tried to reach out to my dad to track down the door or her money or what had happened between the two. I tried doing the right thing for her. Darnel then started texting saying that he was on drugs and literally cursing at me. Still not hearing from my dad yet I was just like screw it I'll write you the $300 check so that she would leave me alone. Well no that was not good enough. She continually texted me cursing at me and even had her daughter (a nail tech there) start texting my friend who introduced me to the salon. She also said that it was $525 that she needed back.After talking with some other people and my dad. Everyone came to the conclusion that she wanted a $1000+ job for $300. All the other contractors said that if he had boarded the door up and brought a door to install and that it wasn't good enough that that's her $300 job right there. They had said if she had wanted a specific door that she should have stated so, so that he could have made a higher bid or so she could have got the door that she wanted and he could have just installed it. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for two years now and there is no one else that I trust.Another stylist was also able to accommodate my special-needs son for his haircut. I made an appointment online. The tech rescheduled twice, moving it from 9 to 10 to 11. Then I waited (and I don't know why I didn't just leave - I should have) 40 minutes before she was ready for me. She was on her phone a lot. She also burned me after realizing I had changed my nail color on my own then was clearly angry and dug into my nails with the sanding bit on her drill. She never apologized for pushing my appointment back then having me wait 40 minutes. Instead she compared a nail salon to a doctor's office...um, no, there's nothing emergent about a manicure - Just realize you messed up and apologize. The topper was that I thought I might expect a break on the bill since I basically was out most of my day, nope, she charged me $45 for a rebase. Never again. Read Less

I love this salon I have been going there for about a year. Val is my hair stylist at this salon, I used to go to all different places but since I met these amazing ladies I won't go anywhere else. I'm only giving one star cuz our pedis were ok. Not bad. Not good.Where to begin? Front staff confused about our appointment. Nail techs acted like they really didn't want to be there. We only chose the express pedi cuz not sure about cleanliness of the place or spa tubs. Had planned on nice long pedis w/foot massages, the whole deal, but didn't feel welcome or comfortable. Lots of glitter. Most techs put your sandals on before polish so don't 'ding' it, right? Not here-then she bumped toe and had to redo. Acted like it was MY fault. Then just walked away: not "thanks girls your polish is dry. We'll meet you at the counter." Nope. Not here. One tech didn't even thank us. Hopefully no issues with our pedis health wise. Get some customer training folks, smile, and clean the place. Won't return! Read Less

On my first appointment, they took a walk-in and I waited for over 30 minutes.  They messed up my nails and toenails and told me I had to make an appointment a week later to get it fixed.  I had to be someplace and they couldn't fix them, so they gave me a partial refund and I went someplace else. I wanted to get Denver Broncos nails, so I called 2 days beforehand and asked for a tech who  had a nail art experience and could do great Denver Broncos nails.  She suggested Audra, and I made an appointment with Audra for Saturday, but when I called Saturday morning to confirm she said Audra wasn't working that day, and she would put me with another tech who "was awesome" and would do a great job on my Broncos nails.  The tech tried really hard and was very nice, but it was obvious she had never done Broncos nails before and she struggled for an hour and a half.  They look ok but I could probably have done them myself for what I got.  Very disappointed, as I should not have been switched and then told she had "tons" of experience doing Broncos nails" as that was untrue, it seemed like I was her first.By the way, it's been only 4 days and the football decals are already peeling off. I have been going to this salon for awhile now, the owner did my nails,and one particular stylist did my hair, I had been happy until now. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE EVER AGAIN. I asked who the best stylist would be do do extensions,they recommended Sadie. OH MY GOD,SHE'S SO TERRIBLE.She is not  experienced, young,and very very bad at doing extensions. We did a consult where I showed her over 10 pics of what I wanted. She said piece of cake, we only should need one bag of hair and it won't take long. After all, all I wanted was to make the FRONT of my a line longer. After she turned me around in the chair, I looked like I had a mullet! They were all in the back and on the back sides!!! It looked hilarious,judging by the look on her face,she knew she effed up. There was already another client waiting so I felt pressured to leave. She did not even cut my hair to blend it into the extensions. I told the owner who I assumed would make it right,and she said Sadie will fix it. This frightened me seeing how she messed it up so bad the first time,the last thing I wanted was for her to touch it again. I basically had to stalk her to get a reply to help me and had to beg her to fix it the next day,she said and I quote, "the only thing I can think of is to add more hair" REALLY?! So Sadie adds more hair that I was forced into paying for. I thought why the bleep should I have to pay for extra hair that I did not need? Had she put it where I asked we would have only needed half a bag of hair in totsl. She messed up and could not even admit it. Towards the end of the 2nd bag she just started putting them wherever just to use them,which was stupid. The end result was this huge block headed unblended 90s bob on a 50 year old teacher. It was so horrendous. This is where the real fun began, the owner tells me it's "out of her hands" because Sadie rents the booth. Keep in mind the owner said it looked like sh**. Although after I fixed it she thought it looked better. How did I pay 300 dollars to look worse than I did when I came in?? Not once did the owner think maybe I should pull the money from my own pocket if I'm going to keep sadie,because her work has my name on it,and this is my salon,but no she passed the buck..."my hands are tied" keep in mind I have been a loyal customer for over 3 years now. Out of 300 dollars,they only reimbursed me 80 of it. and 30 of that was tip for goodness sakes!!! This girl actually thought she was good! My boyfriend eho is a welder even knew hoe jacked up it wss,ge kept asking "why did she put those in the back?" "omg what did she do to u?"Its like walking in to a salon asking for blond hair,getting brown instead and being told oh but it looks good!! Its not what u asked for ya know? I have spent 6 days ripping out 14 unneeded extensions,cutting my hair and blending it with poultry scissors at home,my hair is so damaged from trying to remove the un needed ones, I have cried and hid from the public,since thos horrid appointment, this has been the worst experience of my life when it comes to services. I posted the pics on fb and I had an overwhelming amount of posts of how I needed to get my money back,and how bad it was, and still this girl stuck to her hideous work! IF THIS IS THEIR "BEST" EXTENSION STYLIST, THAT'S FRIGHTENING!!! I have been a makeup artist for years,and I cannot fathom ever doing this to a client. This is not only a horrible place to go but they obviously do not care about customer service or making clients happy. Relationships mean nothing to this place. Beware of this place, it's not worth it at all,not to mention there are many GOOD EDUCATED salons near there. I'm DISGUSTED with the service and lack of resolve with Rockstar Salon. Although my nail technician was pretty friendly, I got there early (appointment was at 11) and did not get out of there until well after 1 for a pedicure and shellac on my nails. My technician was on her phone a lot...texting and calling. I personally don't view that as professional since I myself am a cosmetologist. It's one thing if you already know the person or if it's just a quick call with a family member or something, but not continuously checking and using it. That can wait. My polish on my toes is already coming off on one side and my jewels I got on one finger of each hand already started coming off the very next day. I get it, it's likely to happen. I use jewels on my fingers frequently, but it's still disappointing that they fell off so quickly, especially since the event I got them for was two days later. The other nail art wasn't super impressive. I don't need perfection, but it would be nice if they were both in the same spot and the same size. The receptionist when I got there did not even smile at me when I came in, even though she was on the phone. I'm a receptionist myself and I make sure that from the first step you take that you feel welcomed. I didn't appreciate that at all. Most of the girls didn't look very professional either and it felt cluttered in there. It's awesome that they have so many services to offer, but for the salon itself it almost felt cheap how everything was decorated. Not trying to be super negative, but for the quality they say they deliver, definitely didn't meet my expectations. Be professional and provide a welcoming, fun, clean experience for all guests. $80 was not worth it for me. I really liked the old Rockstar at the other location, even though I had only been there a couple times. Definitely needs some changes and sad to say I won't be going back. Read Less

Mixed feelings about this place....it takes 2.5 hours to get a basic pedicure with shellac polish change (no mani) and this is with no nail art.  I do think that this is the place to go if you want a ton of bling and wild nail art,  however,  the staff is very raggedy and sloppy which is surprising considering it is a salon.  I think I saw one girl in there that looked really cool and stylish,  the rest were very frumpy.  The salon is confusing too....I like all of the cool rock/rap posters but I think the zebra and glitter is very 13 year old girl.  They claim to be offering the only high end nail salon in Thornton...I am afraid these girls have not been to a high end salon. I will never go back. I went in for a rebase and left embarrassed of my nails. They were unusually thick near the cuticle leaving a very unnatural look. The nails ended up been uneven, one side thinker than the other. I had black tips on my nails and when it came time to repaint it she free hand painted the black on without evening the jagged line. The end result looked like something I tried to do myself. Extremely amateur and unpleasing to the eye. Just got a full set of acrylics and a wax done. Megan did an excellent job! She paid a lot of attention to detail and made sure my nails were exactly how I wanted. They use gel nail polish too which I like since it lasts longer. The atmosphere was really fun! There is great music playing and a bar. I will definitely go back and ask for Megan. Read Less

Decided to go here due to the fact that they great reviews and the pictures of the nails were awesome! But I fact I paid 45 dollars for crap! My nails are uneven and the paint is alllll over the place. Usually with my gel nails when I put shellac paint it is beautiful.I don't know what this technician did. My old polish is still on my nails!!Then he had the audacity to tell me he might cut me. I'm like well if I'm paying you 45 dollars, I BETTER NOT BE! And I sure as heck don't think it's funny. The lady who have my a pedicure basically changed my nail polish for 20 dollars. My feet still look horrible! So, would I come here again no! I come from Houston where my nails always looked great for half the price. I will continue to be on the lookout for a great nail salon. I don't mind paying money for great work. So this used to be my place to go. I have been getting my haircuts for 3 years by the same two people; Tyler or Freddie. Want to know dedication? I have followed them to every salon they go to because they are that good. So when Tyler told me she was starting her own salon, of course I was a customer for life. And it was even better that Freddie was coming along too.Recently called to make an appointment, asking for Tyler, only to be rudely informed by whoever answered the phone that she no longer worked there. Ummm...she's part owner, and I know she didn't quit the business. Ask for Freddie. Same answer, but with more attitude. Now I am confused.So, here it is. Tyler is no longer available for bookings at Rock Star. While she is still one of the owners, she can't be reached there anymore.  If you're like me and have followed Tyler or any of the other great stylists to Rock Star, and they aren't there, looks like we are in the same boat. Yes, I am leaving a two stars. Why? Tyler not being there aside, having such an amazingly rude experience on the phone as a returning, loyal customer showed me how much my business mattered to the young lady I was talking to. A friend recommended this place for a mani/pedi and an updo.  I walked in and was able to get in right away for the mani/pedi with Claudia.  She's a very nice lady and did a great job. I got the shellac manicure which I love.  I'm sure I'll be back since it's very close to where I live.  The salon itself is very "rockstar-ish".  It seemed like a fun atmosphere and they had good music playing.   My appt for my updo is this weekend.  I'll be back with that review later. Awful.  I visited when they were "Rockstar Nails" but it's the same people, just a diff location and now with alcohol and hairstylists.  My tech, Taylor, was so rushed to get me out the door that I left with my nails in pain. I told her what I wanted done and she said she wouldn't have time to do anything except basic polish over acrylic nails (I was on time for my scheduled appointment).  I couldn't do any nail art, rockstar nails, or anything fancy, which, I thought, was their whole thing.  So I left with nothing special, in pain, and a huge feeling of dissatisfaction.  I can't speak for the other techs, they seemed much nicer, but I would not recommend Taylor.Also, I left a review on the site that they schedule appointments through explaining this situation, however the salon is able to filter through these reviews, and they deleted my review and didn't even contact me to remedy the situation!  And now I can't stop getting emails from the owner about her real estate business.  She took all the email addresses used to schedule appointments and is spamming them now!
