Beware! We Called ahead to see if they did the dip technique, was told yes. My daughter and I both picked out the color of dip powder and they proceeded to rough our nails up like they would for acrylics... we asked multiple times, is this dip? We only want dip... the female kept saying yes better technique... then as she was finishing, I asked if they were acrylic and the guy doing my nails said yes and she said these are better, that dip is a waste of money. We have been growing our nails out from using acrylics for the past 8 months and the dip is more of a polish. I am so angry and disappointed. Took my daughter there to get our nails done for her birthday. They sat us right away and we were able to sit together so we could visit. They brought us water and commenced to doing our nails. My daughter's nails look fantastic, mine however were not done well at all :-( the lighting is poor and I was unable to see the quality of the job until we were out the door. I will not go back and wish I had read reviews before going. Eight hours later and my cuticles still hurt. He took his time to make sure that the shape of my nails was to my exact liking and he made them look flawless! Don't go here unless you are comfortable being discussed by the employees in their language. My friend went to this salon with a group of friends, two of whom were fluent. The employees didn't know this, and so my friend and her group were thoroughly trashed by the whole crew. Like a previous reviewer said, they cut your skin when getting acrylic nails! I was in at 6 pm when they close at 8 and the guy that did my manicure seemed annoyed that I was there later, but it was still two hours from close... he cut almost all of my cuticles with the little sander they use. Then, since some of the acrylic dried onto my skin, he started pulling my skin away from the nail on the underside of my nail. Also when they flip your nails over and use the small pointy sander to get all of the acrylic from the under side of your nails, he was literally digging it into my skin and nails while it was spinning. The staff seemed genuinely nice and were very helpful. I did not make an appointment and was seated in less than 5 minutes of my arrival. Lisa did my pedicure and she was great!  She was very detail oriented, her massage was amazing and her paint job was well done. Great hospitality/customer service and I'll definitely return. The manager was nice, but my nail tech was horrible he didn't speak any English and when I asked for a matte drying topcoat he said I had to do gel he charged me an extra $10 I ended up having to go buy a drying Matte topcoat and apply it myself to get what I wanted not happy.d Read Less

Was a fan and regular customer but will not be going back. New female manager on today and older female I had never seen. Rough treatment and also sloppy...towels were cold, massage non existent but worst was the rude nosy inappropriate questions. I wanted to leave but felt trapped halfway thru pedicure...questions such as..am I married, have I been married, how long, how many kids then a lecture after staff member brought me drink she had failed to offer, that my choices were bad and would make me fat. Then she asked my religion and tried to sell me on a book and God approved vegan diet which I tried to ignore but she kept bringing up. I don't pay $70 for being trapped in a cross selling situation, insulted, and intimidated w inappropriate questions. Usual male manager was not there or I would have complained. Great experience, great price. Brought my roommate's daughter to get a manicure while I got a pedicure. She liked the lady who did her nails. The massage I got during my pedicure was amazing. Got my nails done for a wedding and my cuticle got clipped pretty bad and bled all over. Hurt for several days, not fun for a wedding. Got matte finish for the first time but I'm not convinced it was done right, got them done 5 days ago and the matte finish is completely gone. I think you have to be careful about who you see there.Read Less

If you see something wrong or out of place, make sure you speak up and address it with management so everyone can improve for a better quality service. Super nice place! At first I wasn't thrilled because not all of the lights were on and I couldn't see the color of the polish very well. Once we got started I didn't mind because it was super relaxing. My nail tech was very nice and did such a great job! I definitely want to go back again! Next time I will get a pedicure as well! I came in and got an acrylic set put back on after our move that destroyed my nails and the prices were good so I had high hopes. I was helped by a middle aged man and my mother was helped by a younger man; the place was nice and the workers there seemed very friendly and helped us get in right away, however, I will not be returning. Long story short my fingers hurt so badly because of the rough work of my technician. My nails turned out looking nice but the pain to get there is no where near worth it. I told him I had just removed my acrylics so obviously the nail is extremely thin but that didn't stop him from sanding with the machine until it burned or using a nail file roughly. The skin around my nails is shredded because he went too far off my nail when using the machine to sand and smooth the acrylic; 8 of my 10 fingers bled. He also used a extremely coarse nail file to smooth the edges after adding the acrylic and half of the time missed my nail and just sanded the skin right off my finger. Also keep in mind the tools were pulled out of a drawer and had clearly be used already so that's far from sanitary; what if the tools were used on someone that had been cut before me? Then to make it worse the bonding agent they put on before adding the acrylic powder got into all the cuts and stung like crazy as well as the alcohol he added even after seeing the visible cuts around my nails. Despite my countless hints of pulling my hand away when it hurt he continued to nick my skin and sand it down with the nail file. I even had to remind him to use the pointed dremel under my nail because there was a ton of excess acrylic underneath to the point where I couldn't pull my skin away from the tip of the nail; he somehow overlooked that. My mom told me her experience was very similar. My mom and I have been getting acrylics/fills done for years and have gone to many different places so we know the basics of what is normal and what is not and understand there are a variety of ways people do nails, however, this way is not a right way; we've never experienced pain like this from a male or female technician, it's inexcusable. Please keep in mind this is not a reflection of the whole company but the two men that helped us were far too rough and we will not be coming back because of our experience. I urge you to request one of the females if you come here because they may have a more gentle technique. Read Less

100% RECOMMENDED!!! The staff are super friendly and nice. I got out of work at 4:45 on Sunday and hoped that I could still get my feet done. Unique Nails is one of the few nails salon that is open till 5 so I decided to see if I can squeeze myself in before my trip the next day. I called them and the girl on the phone was super SWEET, she told me that she would be more than happy to wait for me (even though they were almost closing). I know that it is rude to hold someone back after their work hours so I told them that I'll just do a pedicure. However, the told me that I can get my nails done also and I don't need to feel apologetic at all. They were smiling the whole time and even told me that they have nothing to do at home anyway so they are happy to stay late. They really took their time on me and did a FANTASTIC job. I'm in love with my toes and hands. I just wanna say that I really appreciate their time and effort.These people are hard working and amazing. They always put their customers problems as a priority. I am in Fort Collins for business and wanted to get a pedicure.  So, my first place to check reviews is always Google and Yelp.  I must say the staff at Unique Nail Salon were extremely helpful and hardworking. Sue and her daughters are very sweet and the deluxe pedicure was fab!! I will definitely be going back next week for a fill-in!!!  Extensive selection of gel nail colors, I have never seen so many color choices!  I would definitely consider myself a "nail snob" because after 20+ years getting my nails done, it is a fact that not all nail salons are created equal.  My personal preference for a nail salon is focused towards searching out talented nail techs from Vietnam and this salon hit the nail right on the head on many points!!  Make an appointment or just drop in, you will be very happy you did!  :0) Read Less

I went to get a rebase earlier in the week and didn't have an appointment. I only had to wait about 10 minutes and they set me up in one of the massage chairs while I waited. I called at the last minute for a Shellac Mani.  Surprised and pleased I got an appointment 90 mins from the time of my call. Pro's: got the appointment, got out in less than an hour, inexpensive, nails look good.Cons: Young man didn't speak English, never even tried to speak with me, it was a totally silent appointment except for hand signals for me to interpret, he smelled of cigarette smoke, not sure his instruments were clean - they were in a box that didn't look clean, he filed my nails while they were wet, when he was done with my filing and prepping my nails, I had to get up and wash my hands (what?), he placed two drying lights on the counter, so I had to extend my arm awkwardly over the top of them so he could paint my nails, he painted my nails ONE AT A TIME, so my hands were in the in the dryer, out of the dryer time after time, I thought I was done, but he shook his finger at me and pulled out a bottle of lotion, left a lot of it on the surface of my skin, leaped up and ran away when he finished.  This was not the professional, small bit of "pampering me" time I had hoped for. If you need an inexpensive, fast appointment at the 11th hour, and you're ok with sitting silently, take your chances. Read Less

I stopped in for a quick basic manicure. Pros: it was definitely quick. I was in and out within 25 minutes. The service included trimming filing and painting my nails, but no massage, cuticle oil, or moisturizer of any kind. Colorado is dry! So even though I left with my nails painted my cuticles and hands were still white dry and flaky. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations for a $15 manicure. We called ahead to this place, asking if they had room for 5 of us (Family was here for the weekend).  I understand that's a lot of people, but I also expect them to tell me if they can't accommodate us.We showed up when we said we were going to, and every single one of their 14-15 pedicure chairs were full... when we asked again if they had room for us, they said yes, it would be just a few minutes.  We waited about 5-10 minute before they sat us in the chair (basically to trap us), and then we waited ... and waited... and waited.  I kept waiting for more people to come out to help, but there were only 5 people there for the entire salon.  We kept trying to get up and leave, and they kept telling us just a few more minutes.By the time they got to us, we had waited over an hour.  They then did such a poor job that the polish was all watery looking, and we all had to walk out with our nails still wet.  The next day I had scabs and sores on my foot because they had scrubbed it raw, and I could hardly walk.When I tried to complain, there was no one to complain to - no one spoke English well enough to understand what I was saying.  They just nodded their head politely, smiling, and said thank you.  Give me my $25.    Do NOT go here if you are in a hurry.  The place looks clean and sanitary, but I would worry about the cleanliness, knowing what I do about how it's run.  I would choose pretty much any other salon in Fort Collins over this one. I went here for the first time the other day and was highly impressed! Not only was Luis friendly, but he also took his time. We had a great conversation throughout my manicure and pedicure, and silence wasn't awkward. He went out of his way to serve me.  He even removed calluses, which other salons charge extra for. This will be my new frequented salon, for sure. Lastly, it's beautiful inside... Completely brand new and large TVs. This place was TERRIBLE!!! My friend and I went there and asked for shellac. My friend got a pedicure and manicure, and I just got my nails. The shellac was SUPER thin and started chipping the next day. Not to mention that my friend paid $75 for her toes and nails and I paid $40 just for a manicure. (we weren't doing any hard work to make them chip... she was at work doing paper work and I cleaned my house) When my friend went back the next day to get it fixed they were VERY rude to her and said that they wouldn't fix it again. The day after she went back to get it fixed they chipped again... within a week both of us had less than half of the shellac left on our nails. We went back to get our money back because shellac should last MUCH longer than a few days... especially when you pay SO much for them. When we went they were very rude and said that our nails were thin and it was our nails chipping. NO... Our nails were still in tack but the shellac chipped. It was CLEAR that our nails were not the issue. The manager tried telling us that we could have come back and had them fixed up to 2 weeks. I don't have time to go get my nails fixed after work every day. ALSO, when she said this my friend brought to her attention that the manager had told her earlier that week that they wouldn't fix her nails again... The manager was contradicting herself. They lie and are rude and do a terrible job. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. WORST MANICURE I HAVE EVER HAD. I would have given no stars if it were an option.
