I needed to get my nails done for prom so I came here for a Mani/pedi. I will not be back, there are chuncks of nail that aren't covered and my cuticles we're cut short enough to bleed. Also, the clear top coat dried in-between my nail and the skin and when my natural self tried to pick it out because it looked horrible even more paint came off. The owner is super nice, but unless you make an appointment with Karina or Ken then they stick you with the "others" which you get a terrible experience and your nails look horrible! I've been here maybe 8 times total & have only had 2 good shellacs smh, one being I was with Ken and lucked out. I will never go back here especially when I get blamed because my nails are short?! So your telling me that I have to have long nails in order for the job to get done correctly?! I paid 38.00 and a 12yr old could have given me a better experience! I used to go here for pedi with my daughter all the time. I got a gel mani at a different salon and came back to my trusted sky nails to get the gel removed and redone after grow out from original gel manicure at a different salon. Sky nails gave me a French gel manicure but it cracked in 2 days. Not to worry I called them and they said they would redo my manicure for free. I was so happy and was even willing to pay or tip her when she told me not to worry. Here's where it gets bad, really bad. She remove the previous gel manicure for free but use the mechanical file and filed my nails down to paper thin! I am livid! My nails are very strong and healthy and she destroyed them only for the time being but it's not OK! She didn't get all the original gel off and it's bumpy. Then when she repainted my nails she did the undercoat, the white and a topcoat she refused to do the color. When I questioned her if we were doing the beige coat she looked me square in the eyes and said I already did! I'm really sad because I had a great relationship there but I will never go there again! awful experience. i came in for a new full set, still had my old set on. he was very rough at taking them off. literally made my nails BLEED and fingers SWELL and they were sore for about three days after. he did my nails super thin, so they chipped within two days. i've been to way better places. i recommend going somewhere else. they may be cheaper, but there's definitely a reason for that. I LOVE Sky Nails. PAY NO ATTENTION to Nic K.'s review. I was so thrilled they opened a nail salon near my house about three years ago. I would go with my mom every month. They have GREAT customer service and are great people. I moved to Denver recently and I STILL go get my nails done with my mom when I come to visit. They are a great nail salon, I have had manis, pedis, acrylics, solar and even my eyebrows waxed. AWESOME customer service. They still ask my mom for me BY NAME when she goes in. THEY ARE GREAT! The lady's review before me is writing reviews on every site she could find. Wow! I just looked them up real quick to see when they opened tomorrow and i have to say I'm Shocked by what I've read. I'm guessing they didnt know she had a gel coat on top of her nails because she obviously said nothing to them. Ive been here at least 12 times and my first time the man didnt know i had a gel coat on either and i told him it was a UV gel coating and i had acrylics on so i said it was fine to use the drill (as in the same case in the previous review -Except i spoke up). The reason i believe it is ok to assume she didnt say anything is bc she admittedly paid and left w/o a word. I started going to sky nails after LA nails on taft & Elizabeth would constantly let me go out the door w the paint in terrible shape (i.e. bubbles all over, paint all over my skin... or acrylic lifting before i left, & last time was when a tech wasnt understanding to what i was asking- which was a simple french w glitter tip instead of regular white & after 3rd nailed & not asking anyone to translate, i said it was fine id paint them at home and paid them their $90. And since I've been at sky nails ive witnessed them have trouble with someones question but they get somebody over immediately to find out what it is the customer wants. They are very friendly and do great work! They even hand out water to customers at no cost. They talk to you and make jokes and laugh with everyone. Its an awful hit, business wise, to leave a review like that when you didn't tell them and give them a chance to fix it. These people take their time and never rush you away bc theres someone else waiting. Of course they keep the customer not waiting for too long but you've got to expect a lil wait time w/o an appt. fyi- longest ive waited w my 2 daughters was 10 min, only one time. They are definitely doing a great job here. Shame on this woman who wants to "cyber bully" in her own way seek revenge rather than allow them a chance to fix it. there are a few things i can think of that she could've said or done instead of go home and cost them business for one bad manicure that she herself ssid nothing about until she was in the confines of her castle sitting upon her thrown as she wrote these reviews. For the people reading this review I would recommend them. You dont have to take my word for it but i wouldnt NOT go simply bc the queen had a bad experience one time. I didn't want to pay the $30 for her destroying my nails after it took over 20 minutes just for her to figure out how to get my previous gel off. Pretty upset about my decision to try them. After all the grinding and filing it took my nails are sensitive and paper thin, not to mention she took off the top coat of her own job with acetone before I left. So now I have jagged, uneven, unshaped, pathetically sloppy looking nails. That I actually paid money for. Definitely not the place to go for a manicure to say the very least. Read Less
