Pros: The lady did a decent job with my toes and the deluxe pedicure was in-depth. Cons: It was freezing in the building. She dug too deep on one of my toes and it became infected by the next morning. A deluxe gel pedicure will run you $75. This is absolutely ridiculous. I lived in Europe for a year and gel/shellac pedicures ran €40-€50. I moved from Saint Louis and could get a gel mani/pedi for $60-$65. She charges an extra $20 for gel when most places charge $5-$10. Save your money and go somewhere else, I know I will. Read Less

Every time I visit this salon I am given such great service! Today Mia did a great job on my nails. All of the products are the best quality that I've found and are long lasting. Maybe I caught Helen on an off day, but I didn't enjoy my visit to Rock Star Nail Designs.  I will start by saying that Helen's designs are nice, but I will likely not return.  I usually visit another salon in the area, but went to Helen just to try something new.  She spent the entire time dissing my regular nail artist and the salon.  She told me that the prices were too expensive at my regular salon, yet she charged me more than I have ever paid at my regular salon ($110 including tip for a full set and pedicure).She treated me rather roughly.  She had the worst attitude of any nail artist I have ever dealt with.  I come to a salon to relax, and that's what I expect for the amount of money that I paid.  She kept pulling my hands and making noises with her mouth, as if I was annoying her.  Like I said before, her artistry is probably the best I have experienced in the area but because she's horribly rude, I'm going to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. Considering the owner is the only nail tech here, she is doing a great job. She's social and personable too. Seeing all the hundreds of powders and design options that can be done, I'll be back to try this. I can't find very many salons who do the designs she does. Just be understanding she is on her own and call to make an appointment. She doesn't take walk-ins if she has an appointment and I like that about her! Read Less

The lady was really nice but she is the only one working and it took us forever to get simple acrylic nails! Wish we would have been told she is the only one working there. I absolutely love this salon. The staff is so nice and caring. They do an exceptional job at a very good price. I highly recommend coming here. I walked in to Rock Star Nail Design for black shellac gel on top of my natural nail with no acrylics. After I was looking through the colors though there must have been some miscommunication because she started to cut all of my nails off in preparation for getting acrylics. After telling her that acrylics were not what I had wanted she seemed extremely agitated and pushed for these specific fake nails that wouldn't wear my natural nails down (she called them naturalNail) and that no other salon in Fort Collins really did the same technique. After she cut off all of my nails however, I just wanted to get polish on and get out the door but she assured me that she couldn't really do anything with such short nails and that I should get the fake ones. After paying $53 ($15 more than I had ever originally expected) I was extremely disappointed that she didn't work with me with the price after she literally told me she couldn't give me the manicure I had originally came into get. My nails don't look bad they are just the opposite of what I wanted and my fingers were extremely sore until late the next day. This is the second time I've been here and still far from impressed. The place is very nice and the lady who owns it is very nice, however there's never enough staff there. My sister and I like to go and get our nails done together and the lady is usually the only one there so we it takes a long time to get out of there and she's always alternating between us and if someone else comes in she starts to get things ready for them. I was hoping for a relaxing day at the nail salon, instead I got hurried in and out in under an hour to do my eyebrows (didn't even clean my skin before OR after...), toes (the massage was nearly non existent)  and nails.  I never even knew that was possible. There was nothing leisurely or pleasant about my experience. The woman was unfriendly, at times rude and didn't listen to my needs. The nails looked fine, my eyebrows were ok. Amazing art from the main nail lady, and they just hired a pedicure woman I really like as well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my last set of nails began to chip off after about a week. It is also a hit and miss on if you'll be on time or have to wait a couple hours. I had an appointment for my mother in law and I to get our nails done at 11am, and when we came in at 11am she was doing two other girls nails. Then, she kept telling us "10 more minutes" until half an hour had come around. We had lunch across the street and when we came back, she still wasn't ready so we just went to another salon.If I can't find another nail salon or another artist I like, then I will go back. She does amazing designs and has many colors, shapes, etc that she can do on your nails. Read Less

After grabbing some excellent Thai next door (Cafe De' Bangkok - highly recommended) last weekend, I figured I would keep my good mood rolling and get a pedicure. When I walked in, there was one technician working on someone's nails, and it looked like she was the only one working that day. I waited about 15 mins to get started. Thankfully, they have lots of magazines so I was able to get my fill of gossip magazines while I waited. The salon is very clean, and she did a good job on the pedicure, but I was really put off by our conversation. She asked me where I lived, so I told her I was in Ft. Collins, and she asked me what kind of house I live in. Do I rent? Or own? Who do I live with? I was ok with these questions but then she asked me how much I pay per month to rent. A little intrusive. Reluctantly I told her how much I pay, and she told me how much I was getting ripped off and she paid much less than I did. Great. Thanks for making me feel like crap. She then told me about the nail salons in town that were closer to where I live, but also how each one of them was either too expensive, dirty, unfriendly, etc. I do not believe you should put down other businesses to secure customers of your own. Let your good work shine and things will take care of itself! Overall it was a very awkward experience. I don't think I will be back - but thanks for letting me know about the other salons! I just moved here from Los Angeles and have been looking for a good nail salon and I found it today! I've tried 2 other places in town and there's no comparison the owner and his wife were superrrrr nice she can do any design you bring in and after seeing some of here work I believe it! She takes her time which is nice because you know she's doing it right I'll definitely be going back and telling everyone I know about this place! Read Less

I probably wouldn't recommend this place -- well, let me start off by saying that they were accommodating when myself and my 2 sisters showed up and there was only one nail tech -- to take care of all 3 of us. They weren't rude, everyone was very nice but because there were 3 of us and one of her, she sped through our services rather quick. Salon was clean & my nail tech was professional. I got a shellac manicure with a Jack Skellington design for Halloween & then my toes done. She did a GREAT job! Looked at a picture of Jack Skellington for all of 10 seconds & painted it on my ring fingers perfectly. Spent $50 total. Such a great deal! 14 days later & my nails still look brand new. Went there for the first time after seeing their manicure & pedicure for $28 deal. The salon is clean and they did a really good job. I've been to a lot of places that have cut my cuticules or hurt my toes when they were trying to clean them, but not here. They did a parafin-type wrap on my feet and massaged my calves and feet. Everything was great, my only small complaint is that getting Shellac was an extra $15 just on my fingernails. The most I've ever paid for Shellac was $5. That was in California, but I thought being on the coast of California everything was more expensive than out here - which has held pretty true for most things. But I don't know what other salons around here charge for Shellac so I'm sure they are just keeping up with their competitors prices.------Update: My shellac started peeling off and chipping less than two weeks after getting them done. She said they could last a month or more. Other gel that I have had lasted over a month. Not happy with shellac :/ Read Less
