I have been getting my hair done for 15+ years. My visit to Phia was enjoyable. The building is beautiful and everyone in the salon was very pleasant. Jackie did my hair and she explained everything as she went along. After 15+ years I am not sure I’ve ever had a stylist tell me about the ingredients in the products or explain all the steps as we went through them. I stumbled in two weeks ago. Never heard of this place or even noticed it as many times as I’ve passed by. Ms. Mary Jane got me in with no problems as a walk in. We were strangers at this point. She still gave the stranger who walked in on a Friday afternoon the best manicure he’d ever had. I went back today with an appointment. No more strangers. I was welcomed. She really is the best. I got my awesome manicure again, but this time she made sure I got her entire arsenal to take home with me. She makes me feel so pampered. This salon is amazing too! I came in on a whim with a friend after brunch at The Lobby. We searched for nearby salons after deciding to get manicures. They were awesome and squeezed us in! We met Mary who is the sole nail technician there. She was so nice and accommodating. She took the time to listen to each of our specific requests and organize a plan before starting on each of us. She is the epitome of a perfectionist! She shapes each nail meticulously and takes great care in making the lines of the polish absolutely perfect. She is also very clean! She even uses a fresh new nail file for each service and gives it to you at the end of your appointment. And her pedicures are out of this worldddd! The message was heaven. He explained the coloring process and why he was choosing the approach he did (which I totally appreciate because you can't always get that exact color you have in mind the first time). This review is only applicable to their nail services. The staff are all really nice and the salon has a really cute interior, however, I thought the gel manicure and gel pedicure I got here were just okay. In all fairness my nails were shorter than they usually are and more difficult to work with, but I have still gotten much better manicures at much cheaper nail salons. For the price of the manicure and pedicure, $40 and $60, respectively, I was expecting Gelish or CND or similar. They just had a very limited supply of OPI gel, the smallest selection I've yet to see at a nail place. Also, on the booking website it said the time for the manicure would be 75 min and the pedicure would be 90 min. My entire appointment took a little over an hour and a half which is supposed to be the time for just the pedicure so you're not really getting the time you payed for. There was a short foot massage with the pedicure, but nothing for my hands except for a scrub I applied myself - they weren't even soaked in water. In my experience, other salons charging this price do full hand and arm massages, hand soaks, and usually some sort of moisturizing treatment with hot towels. When I got home, I also noticed small spots on almost every nail where the polish was uneven or missing completely. This sounds like a great hair salon, but if they want to maintain their current level of nail services, they definitely need to lower their prices. Read Less

I had a wonderful hair adventure with Nigel. He's gotta be the most knowledgable hair stylist I've ever had the pleasure of letting touch my mane. I went in with hopes of a ordinary good quality hair cut and what I got was all that and 10xs more. He cut it beautifully, and did a deep condition and also styled it just because he thought it would look pretty and didn't charge me extra for it. I will literally only go to Nigel from now on.
