I've tried this place 3 times ... 3 strikes.  The prices have gone up in the 6 months that I've tried them but the quality has not. Had 3 different technicians for mani/pedi and pedicures, but I've experienced painful manipulation or cutting of my digits and skin, nail color on the skin surrounding my toes that was not taken off, or color that just did not last much longer than a week. On top of the shoddiness in service, the ladies there are not very pleasant in a customer-friendly way. I don't mind that they speak Korean to each other but to the exclusion of the customers is rude; plus to not say Thank you for tips or bid farewell when done means they don't covet repeat business..so obviously they won't miss mine. Three stars for past positive experiences, zero stars for today's debacle: I am so disappointed. I've been going here since they opened and always had a great experience with high quality work. Today, I had to tell the technician things like, "please cut my nails," during the pedicure and, "please file my nails so they aren't jagged." She had to re-file twice and the results are far far below what I am used to here. She didn't communicate with me at all about what shape or how long I wanted my nails (as the other technicians always have). Even the shoulder massage was a disappointment. This experience lasted over 90 minutes - much longer than the typical 60 minutes. I am surprised and dismayed that the salon would let someone who is so grossly incompetent handle appointments. Assuming she is still a trainee, I would not let her near an actual customer without close supervision/instruction, a heads up to the customer that they have a trainee, and a discount offered as a result. I usually don't write bad reviews about businesses but I feel this needs to be said. Last Sunday I had the shortest, most rushed manicure I've ever had. The whole thing lasted less than 15 minutes and was $35! I've never had a mani that expensive. Today (one week later) 3 of the shellac nails have already come off. Best nail salon around! I've been to many nail salons all around the downtown, Cherry Creek, and Highlands area.  This one is the best.  The ladies there are super friendly, professional, and always do a fantastic job.  Bonus points for having an uber clean space -- hard to find anywhere in Denver!!  It's a little pricier than others in the area - but worth it. I am new to Denver and was in search of a place to get a gel manicure and pedicure. I chose Nail Story primarily because they were close to where I live and had more of the positive than the negative reviews. I went in on a Wednesday morning and getting an appointment was not a problem. The gal did my pedicure first and then my manicure. Pedicure was fine - I do miss my old nail salon where they really took their time with the pedicure and even gave you a ten minute massage. I can't recall if I got a massage on my feet this time around and if I did that tells you how short it was - that I don't even remember it. The manicure looked great when I left BUT within 24 hours two nails had chipped entirely. I have had gel before on my hands so I know this is not typical. Nonetheless, a day in I had two chipped nails. Nothing fantastic about the place. Price was $35 for a pedicure plus $7 for callous remover and $35 for a gel manicure. Not happy I paid to have nice nails for a graduation and they were already chipped when I got there the next day. Read Less

I love this place! I get really nervous when I have to find a new nail salon because I’m concerned about cleanliness, interactions with staff, and the quality of service. Nail Story gets five stars on all three categories in my book! Staff is so nice and now that I’ve been in a few times they seem to be remembering me even though they see so many people every week. I always feel welcomed and well cared for while I’m there. My gel manicures last longer than any other place I found in Denver. The pedicures are nice too. Those are the only two services I have tried so far, and I’ve been extremely Pleased with them! They also have a great selection of colors! Plus, this may just be a picky thing on my part, but I don’t like when I’m in a salon and they have a TV show blaring. Nail Story always has delightful music on instead. Read Less

Had a nice time getting a manicure and pedicure. The technician was very friendly and she did an amazing job. My manicure lasted a relatively long time (I don't often get manicures because I tend to chip the polish quickly). It's very clean and in an updated space. I would have given five stars however I had to wait 20-30 minutes to start my mani/pedi even though I had scheduled an appointment earlier in the week. Since my boyfriend moved into the area I decided to check the places near by and came across this salon. After reading all the reviews on here I decided to give this place a try! When I walked in, it took them a bit to acknowledge me but eventually someone greeted me and ask me what I needed to be done. I decided I wanted to get a pedicure. The overall experience was okay but I felt it was rushed since I was a walk in. My massage was short. My pedicure came out fine but I noticed appointments get better treatment. They do give you a back massage after but that lasted for like 2 mins. Also, if you do decide to do French, there is an extra charge. **If you pay cash, they give you 10% off** Overall not a bad experience. Maybe I'll give this place another try in the future. Although the actual mani-pedi was definitely 3.5 to 4-stars, the lasting power bumped this up to a 5!! I had a weekly-polish by OPI manicure on 8/30. Today is 9/18. My nails still look amazing. I could have used a bit more enthusiasm with the pedicure leg massage -- and the price was a bit high compared to my usual east coast spots... The parking is a bit challenging at this location but I would come back if ever in the area to get a 3-week manicure out of a non-gel polish. Read Less

Was nervous finding a new nail salon on this side off town but so far it has been a great experience. I didn't have an appointment and although they were extremely busy they still helped me get in and out quickly. Not to mention I had the best foot massage I have ever had during a pedicure. Nail Story is a super cute and professional place. They are officially my go-to for the Denver area. I got a manicure/pedicure with an incredibly sweet lady, who made sure everything was feeling okay and looking good throughout the experience. She did an awesome job on both my nails and toes. My nails usually have a habit of chipping within a day or two with just a regular mani, but after almost a week they are still holding up strong! Plus, my manicurist gave me a short shoulder massage when we finished and she set me up at the drying station, and it was so good that I never wanted it to end haha. Really great place. Very clean and super friendly. They are very precise and I enjoyed spending my time there! I really recommend it to everyone. Seriously annoying place. I called before I came to ask if they were busy since I was here for a few hours before I flew out. The lady who answered said no and she could service me. When I get there, the lady who handles the appointments says they don't have time for me and I can only get one service. I wanted a mani and pedi. I then asked can we move forward with the pedi and play the manicure by ear to see if her appointments showed up. She said no. So honestly, if you want terrible customer service... go here. My checkins might not show it, but I have visited this place more than I can count on my pretty little painted fingers. I stumbled upon this place one Saturday afternoon when my Mom was in town. We wanted a mani/pedi combo and this was the only place that could fit us in.They were so friendly on the phone already. Big win. When we arrived I was impressed by the cleanliness of the space and the great care that was taken to make sure we had a great experience. The massage chairs are unforgettable and work magic while you're getting pampered. They are a little on the pricy side ($70 for a gel manicure/pedicure combo) but once the experience starts, you realize it's totally worth it. Hands down, the best foot and calf massage I have ever had at a nail place and it never matters who does it. They even throw in a short shoulder massage post manicure!I've loved every visit at this place and appreciate that you can request an appointment/quote through the Yelp app! They said she would need to pay to have them fixed despite saying they would last 2-3 weeks at least. They were overall unhelpful and really turned me away from this place. You can also see on several other reviews on this list that many people have had their nails peel away within a week, so this store is certainly not doing a quality job. I'd recommend finding another nail shop, go to Tip to Toe Nails instead (it's rated better and I've had good service there). Read Less

I came to Nail Story on April 20, 2017 and got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I chose this nail salon based on the high rating on yelp. My initial experience was great! The girl, Lily, who did my manicure and pedicure did a great job and was very friendly and helped me find the color I wanted. However, only 3 days later my gel manicure started peeling off. Today, 6 days after my initial appointment, I went into Nail Story to show them that my gel had started to peel less than a week after I got them done and to see if they could fix my new manicure that was already ruined. Unfortunately Lily, the girl who originally did my nails, as well as another employee (possibly a manager?) argued with me for about 15 minutes and said they would only fix 3 of them free of charge. 7 of them are peeling off/chipping. If I wanted all of them fixed I would have to pay the $25 polish change fee. This was even after I showed them a screenshot of my credit card charge 6 days ago. I've been getting gel manicures for 6 years and have never had them peel and chip like this within a week. I did not want another full gel manicure for free, I just wanted a polish change since I had just spent $70 plus tip on a mani/pedi. I'm very disappointed with the service I received and I would recommend going to a different nail salon.I've included pictures of all 7 damaged nails. Read Less

I am thankful for the kindness and great pedicure yesterday! I had booked pedicures for 3 of us. Long story short I had an appointment yesterday prior to my pedicure and it was moved to 11:30. Pedicure 2pm. Thinking I still had enough time to get to my pedicure. I was wrong. So I called Nail Story ahead of time to tell them what was going on as a 37 week prego lady.They were able to accommodate our pedicures even with the crazy schedule. Walked in, they had Christmas songs playing but in a low key fashion where you can enjoy if you want or tune out if not. They happened to be playing all my favorites so of cos in my typical fashion, I sang along.I was assigned to Jessica. She was polite and engaging, but quiet when needed. I came here with the ladies in my wedding party the day before my wedding. We called up in the morning and they were able to get us all in which was great. It was my mum's first time having a mani-pedi, she was shy about it and the technician was patient with her. Great foot massage with the pedi, always my favorite part! The only bummer is that I wanted acrylic nails as mine were so short, but they don't do acrylic. We thought about doing french tip but decided it wouldn't look good so I got Shellac. After she was finished, I realized that they could have done silk so I could have got the longer nails I ideally wanted. I was getting my nails done for my wedding. I wanted a step up from the normal- super cheap places I usually go to. I also wanted something affordable that my bridesmaids wouldn't mind going to. I came across this gem in Denver!Appointment was set for 2pm- We came at 1:55 and within 5 minutes all of us (5 women) were sat! It's hard to get to a nail salon and all be sat by your appointment time.The woman was VERY patient with me, as I was a giggling bride and throwing my hands all around. She gave an excellent foot massage, and was very precise on my nails. I showed her a picture from pinterest of the look I was going for and she was spot on! I made an appointment at 6pm for myself, my friend, and her mother. The salon called me at 6:05 to make sure we were still coming. I told them I was just parking and on my way in. Over the phone I did say we wanted mani/pedi when I made the appointment. By the time I got into the store the gal who was helping me and seemed like the manager, told me we were too late and they didn't have time to do a shellac mani and regular pedicure. I have never been turned down a service at a nail salon before.. Interesting way to start my first visit here.
