I went to Hollywood Nails for the first time last week for a Gel Mani. I was very impressed with my manicure and I thought Kim did an excellent job! Kim took her time on my nails and even offered suggestions for products to use. She was very knowledgeable and detail oriented when it came to making sure my nails looked great. I would definitely go back to get my nails done here again! The only negatives I have is that there is very few staff, so if you want to be guaranteed a spot you need to make a reservation ahead of time. The whole area was just really disgusting and unorganized chaos. We got two pedicures, and they were sub-par. Polish was left on my skin and missing near the border of my nails, and just not much attention to detail. They were kind, but for the same price you should choose a cleaner and more talented salon. This place is more than meets the eye. Upon first glance I probably wouldn't have stayed but I'm so glad that I did. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable. The woman who did my nails actually took her time with me rather than rushing me in and out. The quality and craftsmanship of her work is unrivaled. I have long natural nails so it's hard to find people who can handle them delicately, but she did a brilliant job. This woman knows her stuff! So this is totally a "don't judge a book" kind of place. And if you can do that then you will find you've spent your time and money wisely. Kim and her husband have held down this space for 26 years. I cannot even fathom what it meant to do nails on Colfax almost 30 years ago. But her quiet tenacity and commitment to excellence is evident. I even learned several things about nail care and left with a small bottle of oil that smells like cotton candy and is sure to help my brittle nails heal (all for the totally reasonable price of $4). Without having to book weeks ahead I was able to get a same day appt, and then there was no waiting once I went in.The owners do your nails, and they are professional, it's quiet, they are fast, listen to what you would like and take care of you. I live in the neighborhood and this was my first visit to Hollywood nails. I am very satisfied with my experience. My nails look perfect, and Kim takes the time and care to make everything look great. She has obviously been doing this a long time.In response to the person that said the place looks disorganized, it's true, though it is because they are in process of expanding/remodeling. Honestly I can't remember the last time I went to a nail salon where I was impressed by the surroundings. The couple that owns the shop are extremely kind. After getting to know them, I learned how long they have been in the neighborhood, which is always a nice sign in our everchanging city! At first I wanted a gray polish but then decided on a gray French mani-- I never get manicures so I wanted to do something new-- not only did Kim do an amazing job but she added a pink top coat, which I never would have thought to ask for but it was perfect. Kim has been making my nails beautiful for 6 years now, and I won't let anyone else at any other place touch my fingers or toes. I feel like family wth Kim and Tony, and am very blessed to have found them.Kim's attention to detail and artistry really shows. I have been getting CND Shellac on my hands/feet since I first found Hollywood Nails. A year ago, I started to get a thin layer of acrylic under my shellac, and haven't looked back. It lasts me for 3 weeks, and my job is really hard on my hands, wearing gloves all day.The location is great too. Coffee next door, and yoga across the street, in case there is a wait. Kim is well worth the wait if you want the prettiest nails possible. I highly recommend you treat yourself to a shellac mani/pedi here! The massage chairs are also very relaxing. Read Less

This place is kinda bizarre and I would only recommend for a polish change...I'm not sure what to say.  The place doesn't look professional and clean.  The place has stuff all over .. Kinda reminds me of a cross between a dollar store and episode of hoarders.  Open food on shelves and everything mismatched with crap everywhere.They did a good job on polish change though.
