My husband had color done in his hair for the very first time last Wednesday, and I had mine changed yesterday, plus we both had trims with our colorings. We both had Hannah do our hair, mainly because we already knew her (we met her through her boyfriend's band), and she did amazing work on both our hair! Mine was a bit more challenging to get the color just right because I already had a vivid red in my hair, and she didn't lift it because my hair is already pretty fine from... years of using boxed dye and other factors. She was very patient with me though, and was able to figure out a solution for me that worked out wonderfully, plus she trimmed my hair in a manner that gives it some more movement! I was visiting from out of town, and Bruce squeezed my friend and me in for a manicure and pedicure, which was wonderful.  Hannah did my pedicure, and although I usually have unpleasantly ticklish feet, she had such a firm and relaxing technique that I was totally relaxed and felt wonderful.  I really enjoyed chatting with her, and she was super accomodating -- I had my 6 month old with me, and I was able to hold her on my lap, and Hannah even entertained her with some bubbles.  Mallory did my manicure, and she was also fantastic.  I enjoyed talking to her, and I was able to wear my baby for the first part of the manicure.  My nails turned out fabulous, and my friend and I both had a really nice time! This is the best place to go if you color your hair, especially red! If you're red, you can probably relate to how hard it is to find someone who does it right. I moved here from Illinois a few years ago. It's always hard to find a new stylist and I spent too long walking around with bad haircuts. Luckily, I finally found Bruce at Paloma. I have curly hair and he cuts it right! He makes the hair cut relaxing with a short head, neck, and shoulder massage to start. Today this was second time at Paloma. Both times Sasha has done my hair and both times it looked great. She's super nice and it shows how much she loves what she does. I absolutely love this place. This past Friday I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Bruce. He really took the time to make  me feel pampered. The haircut started with a scalp massage with essential oils for my hair followed by a shampoo and conditioning with Paul Mitchell products a brand I love and trust. Bruce used techniques I had never seen any other  stylist use to thin and texture my hair. I have thick Hispanic hair so thinning out is a must for me. Moving here from Texas I had some trouble finding a new stylist needless to say that I have found my new stylist while my husband is station here in Colorado Springs. I love Jackie Montoya, best stylist I have EVER had. The environment is casual, the decor is lovely. I haven't used their spa services- but Jackie saved me from a stylist that was intimidated by how curly my hair was. Ethan is not just a hairstylist, he is genuine, down to earth, and wants to help you express yourself, for whatever that means to you. Women especially should see him because he really has a great eye for cut and color (I happen to live with him, so I've seen a lot of his results in person). I've never seen a dissatisfied person leave his chair or not rave about something (I particularly like his scalp massage, and he taught me how great blow drying is... I never knew). My hairstylist at Paloma is Corrina and I LOVE her! I was recommended to go to her from a friend after my dark brown hair was completely ruined with highlights from someone else at another salon. It was breaking off and every time I brushed my hair, it looked like cotton candy was in my brush. It was horrible. She was able to completely fix my hair and made it look and feel healthy and normal again. Most of my stylists before never listened to what I want when it came to a cut, and I was always unhappy until it started to grow out again, but Corrina always remembers how I like my hair and does a perfect job every time. She is so talented and I will forever come to her when I want my hair done. Paloma also has a great atmosphere! I've never been on a busy day, but it's pretty quiet and relaxing. I love the building on the inside and the location downtown. It's definitely clean and professional. I used to go to Bruce when he was at Miran's at the Antler's. I finally found him again and WOW! My hair is curly and long, and was all one length. It was doing nothing for me. Bruce transformed it with perfect color & highlights AND gave me the most wonderful haircut I've had in a decade! A month later and I'm still in love! And it's still long! He isn't cut happy & really knows curly hair! That alone is so hard to find. The atmosphere is relaxing & soothing from the moment you walk in. So it didn't start off that great!  I had a 12:30 appt but Hannah was running late so I sat idle for 20+ minutes. I was aggravated  & told the owner they could have called. She told me that a client was late. I told her that is why she should have called me, I have a business to run too!  Not to mention that the salon is downtown and you have to park at a meter!   Also it is a pretty laid back, casual place. They are in no hurry. I was there nearly 4 hours!  I went in on a Groupon deal that included haircut, partial highlight, and deep Kerotin conditioning treatment. My hair was a mess, very damaged, bad cut and in need if highlights. Hannah took time with me to understand what I wanted. We ended up doing a color and highlights. So all that took extra time....but 4 hours?  It's a major detriment that this salon is downtown with meter parking but I am so happy with my hair I already made my next appt.  I'll just have my hubby drop me off! I wasn't too sure how to review this place at first because, as others have noted, the staff appearance and demeanor definitely errs on the informal side, to the point where I was at first concerned for the eventual quality of my haircut. There's a fine line between friendly and inappropriately casual and the owner of this salon needs to set that boundary and enforce it.  When I went there were only two people working and  the salon was empty of customers except for myself, which also made me nervous.However, as far as the service...I received a lovely conditioning keratin treatment with a relaxing scalp massage and then one of the best haircuts I've ever had  from Hannah, which is why I gave this place four stars, because that's what matters in the end as far as I'm concerned.  It even looked so good the next day I basically just shook out the bed-head and went on my merry way (I have longish, layered hair.) My husband bought me a gift certificate at Paloma for my birthday for a massage, manicure/pedicure. I had never been to this particular establishment and absolutely LOVED IT!!!! The moment that I walked in I was greeted with friendly faces and a very warm welcome. My massage was tranquil and very relaxing, Kristi really knew what she was doing. I've walked by this salon many times and on a whim, decided to stop in and have my hair cut. My boyfriend wanted me to grow it out, but it was getting too long for my taste. I went inside where I was greeted by Janine. She brought me back to her chair, where she listened to my indecisive thoughts about what I wanted and didn't want. She was so patient with me, which I appreciated greatly. I decided on a hair style I wanted and let her get to work cutting. I even got a mini-massage before she started! If you have curly hair, DO NOT go to Paloma Salon & especially DO NOT have Janine touch a single beautiful curl. This woman does not know how to cut curly hair. I am now the owner of a horrible hair cut. I have never cried over a haircut until now. It will be months or perhaps years before this ugly cut grows out. I had beautiful spiral curls. I got a good manicure and pedicure, not a GREAT manicure and pedicure.  My technician was very nice and knowledgeable.  Their polish selection was weak and it took 3 hours!  (I didn't mind because I was not on a schedule but come on)  There seemed to be a disconnect between the two nail girls because as I was completing my pedicure the other girl swooped in to BEGIN a manicure so instead of having the other customer wait 5 minutes I had to wait 55 minutes!  Unprofessional and not customer focused...glad I went on a groupon. Went there for manicure and pedicure. It was completely OK. The people working over there looked like as if they needed a make over. The owner/receptionist seemed lost herself. Somethings wrong with the way she speaks. Could hardly understand her. Got my eyebrow waxed from the manicure pedicure lady and she managed to get some wax in my hair as well (so much for being proficient). Plus she could not take it out. If you are going to get your hair cut and/or styled you have to go to Paloma Salon and Micro Spa. And Make sure you get Hannah as your stylist. I NEVER let anyone cut my hair because they can never do it right or just turns out bad, etc. I let her cut my hair today and not even joking, my hair looks outstanding, I've never had someone cut my hair this good. I had been in Paloma last month when my husband went to have his dreadlocks done. While there I watched Bruce do a few haircuts and decided some day he would cut my hair because he seemed so creative. Today was that day. I just shut my eyes and said ""I have no idea what to do with it, that's why I'm here."" He came through with flying colors. The style is flattering, fun, bouncy, and easy to keep up. I will definitely be back and hope others find this place as well. Corrina is also now doing my husband's dreadlocks. I was visiting COS on business and just stumbled across this shop. I was a walk-in and didn't know a thing about the quality of the hair cut I was about to get. No kidding, out of 50 years of haircuts it was the best cut I have ever had. I normally have issues with my hair about two weeks after I leave the Barber, but not this time. I've been waxed many time before but this was my first time using Paloma Salon. The people seemed friendly, timely, and polite enough. The environment was nice. And, I developed a very painful case of folliculitis (infected hair follicles) that required oral antibiotics and a topical agent. It still hurts and I might scar. Having been waxed many times before, I've never had a problem. My doctor said it could be a combination of incorrect sanitary procedures on the salon's part (dirty wax, dirty spatulas, esthetician not wearing gloves, etc, etc) and/or it could be a combination of where my body was at that particular day and time. So, if you try it out, just be sure you ask that the people wear gloves and if the waxing utensils are clean and sanitary! Read Less
