i don't think i've ever had a more terrible experience at a nail salon. when i arrived i asked if they would first remove my previous set as i didn't like the way it had been done at another salon two...
i don't think i've ever had a more terrible experience at a nail salon. when i arrived i asked if they would first remove my previous set as i didn't like the way it had been done at another salon two weeks ago (acrylic was digging into my cuticles on both sides, badly shaped, peeling up, etc). they blatantly refused/told me they would only do a fill, and i should have walked out the door right then. i didn't :-)
i sat down, showed the tech a picture of a simple pink and white ombré nail (i had seen similar nail art on some of their reviews so i imagined it wouldn't be a problem), asked if she would be able to do it, to which, after studying it for a bit too long with a worried look on her face, hesitantly said "yes." again, should have gotten up and walked out. i didn't. i let her fill, file, and prime my nails. the car pic you're looking at down below is the set ANOTHER tech attempted to start painting on after looking at my reference picture for another extended period of time and a worried exchange between the two.
a clear base coat was painstakingly applied (i could tell she was procrastinating on the actual paint job), and after letting her paint two of my nails half white and half pink, i finally said "this is not what i asked for. i wanted a pink and white ombré nail *shows them both the reference picture for the third time*". i am THEN looked at like this is the first time they're hearing of it and told that an ombré nail would take two hours to do (???). at that point i'm done. i tell them to leave it be. i pay $20 for the fill and i'm out. however, if i had noticed how terribly crooked and uneven my nails were before walking out, i wouldn't have paid a dime - they really attempted to start painting nails that looked like this.
other pic is the filing job and ombré i gave MYSELF after a sally's run. if they had just been honest about not knowing how to do the ombré and at least left me with an adequately shaped base to work on, they could have saved us both a lot of wasted time and a bad review. don't come to this nail salon for full sets, y'all.

They are always very friendly and welcoming. I've rarely ever had to wait when I walk in.

There is very good air circulation in the shop, which is very important to protect the customers and workers from chemical exposure. This can be a very bad problem in other nail salons in Boulder. Don't stay in any shop if it stinks!!!
They always play the Food Network on the television. I always enjoy that.

GROSS, I watched them use the same tools on customers without sanitizing! I asked about it, and they clean the scrubbers (girl lied to me and said it was new, then said it was too expensive to use new...
GROSS, I watched them use the same tools on customers without sanitizing! I asked about it, and they clean the scrubbers (girl lied to me and said it was new, then said it was too expensive to use new scrubbers) but they definitely didn't clean the clipper tools. Used the same file with old nail powder deposits (not the metal kind but the cheap throw away kind). Pretty cheap to re-use this and risk spreading disease. Made an appointment and had to wait 30 minutes. Disgusting experience.

Such rude customer service. I went in today for a walk in appointment, as they advertise they accept, and was rudely turned down and refused service. I was told they did not want to do my gel refill. I was shocked, I have never been turned away from a nail place. I said I was willing to wait as long as they needed me to. However they still refused me service. The place was also VERY DIRTY and should be reported to the health code. Safe to say I probably dodged an infection by not going there. Highly do not recommend going to Poshe Nails. There are a thousand other better and cleaner nail places within a two minute radius. Never going back to Poshe Nails. I would recommend Star Nails, right down the street.

I really want to like this place. It's close to home and convenient. I also want to note that I have had decent service here before but it's not consistent. The times that's been good is when the owner does the work. When she isn't there the service is very poor, especially waxing. Today I walked out with my upper lip hair half waxed. I went home and finished the job. My eyebrows were waxed but not trimmed or shaped so there's little spots she missed and just looks like a job half done. Again I went home and finished her work for her. What's the point of paying $18 + tip when you can probably do a better job yourself with a home kit? The pedicure I received today looks awful. The sad part is that I got a very translucent light polish so I'd hate to see how much they botch up a dark color. Overall, this place can be very disappointing. I will not be back.

I am a pretty faithful customer and give lots of slack for errors because we are all human. I live in Sobo so it would have made sense for me to try Poshe Nail earlier, but I had been recommended to a nail place in Nobo by some girlfriends. One day I just got tired of the awful (yet friendly) service in Nobo so i just walked in Poshe and was immediately impressed by the owner's (Lily) professionalism. I got great service. Lily had the impression that there had been a misunderstanding for a follow-up appointment and she made a point of calling to explain. She runs a good operation, the prices are competitive, the service has been consistent. Pedicure massages have always been good (they use this hot stone) till the last one however. I will make a point of making sure I don't get a particular girl who happened to move from the salon I left for Poshe. She is nice but her pedicure massage was awful. I did tell Lily that she needed a little more training and I am pretty sure Lily will take heed of my feedback.

I got my eyebrows waxed and had a Gel manicure at Poshe yesterday.The manicure, by Dawn, was wonderful. Now, the eyebrow waxing was far from wonderful.This morning, I noticed that they burned my eyelid. I called them and the lady who answered the phone insisted that I had scratched my eyelid myself. Then she proceeded to tell me that perhaps I had allergies (or other ideas she had as to why it was my fault and not theirs). After I refused to accept the blame for my burned eyelid, she frostily told me to come in.I went in to Poshe Nails and the manager was extremely dismissive toward me. They offered me nothing. She ended up putting Neosporin on it and telling me that she didn't know why I felt like I needed to make such a fuss.I do not recommend this place.

I've been here a number of times and been to a lot of places in similar price ranges (all Mani/Pedis) and this place is one of the best. They offer the same polish and service as other places, but for a lower price (I think $25 for both). I did get disappointing nail art once, but after that I have them show me the display and I select the kind I like; I've never been disappointed since.
They have a nice big TV, which is nice and almost makes up for the lower quality of some of the massaging chairs.
If you have an endless supply of funds and think you nails are extremely important, then this might not be the place for you. If you have a finite budget and just like to have beautiful nails as you go about your day, then this is definitely a place to try.

There is very good air circulation in the shop, which is very important to protect the customers and workers from chemical exposure. This can be a very bad problem in other nail salons in Boulder. Don't stay in any shop if it stinks!!!

Such rude customer service. I went in today for a walk in appointment, as they advertise they accept, and was rudely turned down and refused service. I was told they did not want to do my gel refill. She runs a good operation, the prices are competitive, the service has been consistent. Pedicure massages have always been good (they use this hot stone) till the last one however. I will make a point of making sure I don't get a particular girl who happened to move from the salon I left for Poshe. She is nice but her pedicure massage was awful. I did tell Lily that she needed a little more training and I am pretty sure Lily will take heed of my feedback.

My mom and I have been going for years. We love this place. The owner Lily is very nice and great with gel nail polish. I have tried other places in boulder and my nails don't come out as good as Lily...

Good standard nail salon. Decent prices, clean, not too busy after work. It is a good basic place to go for your regular mani/ pedi needs.

I got my eyebrows waxed and had a Gel manicure at Poshe yesterday.The manicure, by Dawn, was wonderful. Now, the eyebrow waxing was far from wonderful.This morning, I noticed that they burned my eyelid. I called them and the lady who answered the phone insisted that I had scratched my eyelid myself. Then she proceeded to tell me that perhaps I had allergies (or other ideas she had as to why it was my fault and not theirs). After I refused to accept the blame for my burned eyelid, she frostily told me to come in.I went in to Poshe Nails and the manager was extremely dismissive toward me. They offered me nothing. She ended up putting Neosporin on it and telling me that she didn't know why I felt like I needed to make such a fuss.I do not recommend this place.

I've been here a number of times and been to a lot of places in similar price ranges (all Mani/Pedis) and this place is one of the best. They offer the same polish and service as other places, but for a lower price (I think $25 for both). I did get disappointing nail art once, but after that I have them show me the display and I select the kind I like; I've never been disappointed since.
They have a nice big TV, which is nice and almost makes up for the lower quality of some of the massaging chairs.
If you have an endless supply of funds and think you nails are extremely important, then this might not be the place for you. If you have a finite budget and just like to have beautiful nails as you go about your day, then this is definitely a place to try.
