My experience was great. I schedule the appointment and paid on Groupon. It was good that I did too. As soon I sat down there was a large flow of people coming in but I was already seated and set for my appointment.  The staff is excellent and professional. Jenny is the BEST!!! I love this place. I'm just sad I found it just as I was moving back to California. This is the best nails place in Boulder and Jenny is amazing. Every time I go to this place for a regular pedicure they give me a "menu" and ask me if I'd like the "spa pedi" for $35. If I choose the regular pedi for $25 the technician gives me a dirty look and never talks to me again. Read Less

So I came in about a week ago with a coupon from CU for students. And immediately I was treated differently. And I was even more mad because I tipped her well. I was just getting my shellac color changed and she rushed me the whole time, and didn't spend the time to make my nails look good. My nails are already chipping and it's barely been a week!! She also didn't take the time to realize there were Cotten ball fuzzies all over my nail and pained over them leaving them look horrible on top of not putting enough coats. I had a mani pedi.  No fingernail polish.  Lai was my technician. She did a fantastic job.  She repaired my hands and fingers.  They were dry. I have never had a worse experience with any business in my life - they were understaffed, took an hour to remove my acrylics (which usually takes around 15 mins) due to them constantly jumping up to work on another customer despite my reservation (the other customer was going through the same thing as me!), their color selection was very poor, they couldn't understand what I was asking for after showing them exactly what I wanted, and they pressured/yelled at my friend and I to stay in front of the whole salon when we decided we did not wish to have our nails done in their salon. Don't do it! I am leaving early on a trip and wanted cute toes so I ignored my better instincts. I swear my technician must not be licensed, the leg massage was rubbing lotion into the front of my calf. They put some sort of shower cap into the tub and half my Pedicure was spent pulling it out of the drain.   Now I have been waiting to pay for at least 10, okay probably 7 minutes... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I do not like to write bad reviews but this was the worst of the worst!  I told the owner specifically the mani and pedi that I wanted.  The girls gave me an upgrade without telling me and I was charged $20 more than I expected. I have patronized this salon for 15 years at least. Sad to say, today was my last visit. For years they offered a reasonably priced pedicure performed by trained techs that took their time and seemed to want to please their customers. Not any more. I did not recognize a single face (perhaps it has changed owners?). No one spoke passable English. My pedicurist wanted only to up-sell me a higher priced treatment and pouted (!)  when I made it clear that I wanted the basic spa pedi. Everything was good other than my thumb kept on looking weird and she put my finger in the uv light four times. Later on the day that nail hurt soo bad I couln't feel my thumb. Then three days later after getting them done the acrylic started to crack on the same thumb and index finger it looks very bad and cheaply done. Worst manicure/ full set I've ever had! This was my second time into the salon, but I will NOT be returning. My experience started off by being bounced between 3 different people. When I took my final seat, the manicurist seemed to rush through the process, stopping to chat on her cell phone in the middle. The next day I noticed that my nails were LUMPY and ODD SHAPED. A couple of them really didn't look realistic at all.The color started peeling off five of them, so I'm left with what looks like a 3 year old put on fake nails with clay. TERRIBLE. Well below average nail salon.  Expensive, poor customer service, and terrible foot and leg massage during pedicure.  Several chairs for pedicure massage were broken.  They line with pedicure basin with a shower cap-like plastic.  Manicure was okay, but also terrible hand massage.  I won't go back there. besides the nail technician rolling her eyes at me because I made her redo my nails. The 2nd time the lines were still extremely uneven. I've never post a review good or bad but I was so disappointed with the $60 I spent in this trashy looking place. She over cut my toenail cuticles, which is now red and slightly swollen. Terrible!!! Looked kinda iffy when I walked in but decided to give it a chance anyway big mistake. I'm from Texas and wasn't sure on all of the rules in Colorado as far as cleanliness goes in nail salons here but didn't have much time to possibly run around to possibly more of the same so I gave it a chance. To start I asked if they did dip nails and they said yes, told me to pick a color and take a seat. After they wrapped my nails I then discovered that they don't do d...ip nails with the color powder but they use something not as strong and clear and then put shellac over it to which they charge more for btw. This is not what I wanted but it was too late because my nails were already melting away. The cost was $48 without any sort of manicure. Unheard-of!!!!! Albeit I wouldn't have been so upset about the price if my nails looked great but they don't. They're bumpy, I had to file all of the edges down because they were sharp and scratchy catching on everything. That was on Saturday and today (Monday) they started peeling off. The place is a dump and the wait is not only ridiculously long, but they lie about it when you walk in. They told me 10 minute wait, and also to a string of people who came in after me; we all waited 40 minutes or more and they were rude to a couple of people who couldn't wait any more and had to leave. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, go somewhere else. This place is always hectic. Out of the 3 times I've gone (it's close by and convenient), they've cut my finger twice. The time they didn't cut my finger, I was getting a pedicure and had to go back to fix it. The red nail polish I had on prior to the visit was still showing through the new polish. They didn't remove my red polish off completely and they skipped a coat of the new polish. At Angel Nails there is no proper place to dry nails, so they bring tiny machines to you and rush you after a few minutes, causing you to likely mess up a nail when trying to pay them... This place is only OK because of the price - you get what you pay for. Go down 28th towards Canyon and you'll get similar prices with a much better experience. Read Less

I went there on NYE and had a horrible experience.  Had same experience as others - chunks of the side of my nail were cut and bleeding.  Why in the world would that do that with zero cuticles there. I have tried this salon a total of 4 times now. Once about a year ago and then a few times more recently... The space is so cramped and small that I literally did not have room to set down a coat or a purse ANYWHERE in the salon. The back of my hard, (almost child's size) office chair was right backed up the manicurist's chair back behind me. So, I couldn't even move. And was stuffed into the back corner where people were constantly going in and out to the back hallway.Dirty. The inside of the place looks and smells terrible.- Today: rough treatment when getting gel mani. Told her repeatedly she was hurting me. Saw another reviewer on Yelp say that they had cut chunks of skin off the sides of her fingers where there weren't even cuticles to be trimmed-- alas, I had the same thing happen. Told her repeatedly she was hurting me.Left with a dry hands and cuticles, overly cut and bleeding. She didn't properly seal the gel either so it's not glossy at all.Will not return. It is so worth a few extra bucks to head over to Iris nails down the block, or better yet the Nail Studio/jlounge (thought they charge premium prices). Alexan Nails is hit or miss. Though they would be the next on the list of places to go when compared to....Contempo is rushed, rude, and cramped (think of a fast food vibe. Get you in, get you out). Eagle Nails no better. Encore Nails is usually good but wait times are always long and I won't return there after they tried to overcharge me on a few different occasions. (They also fill their opi gel bottles with knock off polishes that are insane to remove. What can I say, I was enticed by a coupon and I had a trip coming up I needed to get my tootsies ready for. The location was not difficult to find, though crossing 28th street can be a challenge if traveling north. The parking lot though a decent size is often full and for some reason or another the spaces seem to be a bit smaller than other spots in town.The salon itself has quite a variety of polishes and even include some more eco friendly brands like "Butter London" (this brand does not use formaldehyde, toluene, or DBP).On some visits I call ahead, while on other visits I do not. I rarely find that I have very long to wait even if the place is quite full. The staff are friendly and efficient and I appreciate the little bottles of water they keep us hydrated with.There are multiple televisions to watch and loads of magazines.There are also some new products and types of foot care services offered (for example, $38 herbal mineral bath for feet).Overall I am very pleased with this nail salon. They frequently award you a $2 off your next visit coupons as well as a punch card program (I believe 10 punches gets you $10 off). Read Less

I recently had the occasion to stop by Angel Nails on 28th Street in Boulder,Colorado. I did not have an appointment. I was greeted by all of the nail styleists with a friendly smile,a chilled bottle of water and an explanation of their manicure and pedicure services. I easily felt welcome and comfortable. Being a male I Normally feel uncomfortable in Salons but this was not the case,these ladies helped me to be relaxed. The massage chairs are wonderful. The ladies were concerned, efficient,and did a great job. I even got a shoulder massage while the attendant finished my nails in this this very neat, clean,"Feel Good " Atmosphere.
