Charged $10 for a polish change and $15 if I wanted my nails trimmed in any way. I asked if I can just use their clippers to cut one nail myself, and they said no, it would be $15 if I do that. I come from San Francisco where I pay $10 for nail polish, trimming, filing, buffing. Why is this place in Boulder so much more expensive? There were bubbles and flaws in the polish job. I pointed them out and was told “Those are not bubbles”. It does not matter what you call them — they looked bad! There was also pooling of polish at the nail tips. I was super pleased with my experience at first! Went with a few girlfriends who got pedicures, but I wanted a gel manicure and they still let me sit in the pedicure chairs so I could be next to them. She took her time, loved the hot stone part of the massage!Fast forward five days, and my nails look awful. Half of the gel has come off each nail and the cuticles look worse than before. My daughter and I just got a mani/ pedi yesterday and both of our manis are already peeling. The tech was very rough when it came to the cuticle and ripped them out instead of trimming and she made my daughter bleed.  Polish job was horrible and not professional. They took a long time and completed after 9pm and then had the nerve to tell me I have to tip 20% because it was after 9. I will not be returning. Read Less

I really don't understand the negative reviews! For $39 I received one of the best (non-spa) pedicures. Hot stone, exfoliating scrub, and a 10-minute lotion massage. After a long morning hike, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Fantastic all the way around.Read Less

The ambiance is nice and relaxing.  The salon is very clean.  They use individually sterilized instruments for each client.  They provide you with a menu and you can choose which type of manicures and/or pedicure suites you (classic, hot stone etc). Not sure what's up with the negative reviews. I've had great experiences here and the gel pedicure lasts at least two weeks on a beach vacation. I tried another salon that was a bit cheaper and the pedicure faded and chipped within days. This is the only salon I trust with my beach toes! I had a similar experience as many of the 1 star reviews. I stopped in on Saturday for a gel mani and pedicure. My gel polish is already peeling off (Monday). The color I chose was a light robin's egg blue and it looks terrible. Very unevenly applied and lifting on the edges. Just very sloppy work. I did a regular polish pedi and the girl barely did a pedicure! She she glopped the polish on and ended up spilling some on my toe then got some on my sandal. Not to mention the prices are very high. I don't mind paying this kind of money if the quality is good. I won't be going back. :( Read Less

Overall, a very nice place. I love that they have a menu of their offerings to make sure you choose the right service, and their selection of polish and shellacs is great. They have much larger selection of Essie polish than most salons, which was good for my Vegan friend. They were also able to do my shellac manicure at a pedicure station so I could sit with my friend, who was getting a pedicure. And my manicure looks great! Read Less

Amazing service! They make you feel like your at home. No horrible smell from acrylic since they don't do that. You get to relax and never feel rushed. They take extra time and make sure everything is done right. Very happy to find this place. I will be coming here from now on! Read Less

Very very disappointing experience. I tried them a few times to give them benefit of the doubt, but they are a waste of your time and money. Today, I expressed my unsatisfaction with the dull application. (The color was fine, the application looked like you had two week old nail paint) I asked politely if she could repaint my nails, as I was unsatisfied. She blatantly responded that it was supposed to look this dull, that it was normal. Then another nail technician offered to add a glossy top coat insisting that it would solve the problem. I paid over $50 for my gel nails to chip in 5 days!! Gel/Shellac should last at least 2 weeks. I am so sick and tired of going to all of these greedy salons that are money hungry and 29th nail spa is no exception. I got a gel/shellac manicure in Ukraine and it lasted for over a month! I know all these salons put additives in to the original nail polish formula because gel should not be peeling after 5 days! Read Less

I was surprised about the reviews for this place. I called on a Sunday for a manicure and pedicure and they could fit us in immediately. We were sat as soon as we walked in. I had gels on and they removed them and applied a new gel color. I am so very happy with my nails. They are perfect and my manicurist was so nice. The pedicure was also great and we were super happy with our service. The mini gel (no massage included) manicure was $35 and the pedicure was $39. I don't know where these bad reviews are coming from but my experience was great. I got a 'mini-mani' on my lunch break for $20. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes and she did a great job. The shape is exactly what I wanted and she did a great job with the paint. Will definitely be going back. Read Less

Save your time and money, go elsewhere!  I went on a Thursday evening at 7:30 for a mani pedi and left at 9:15pm.  My hands and toes were actually in pretty good shape already, no need for the delay.  I had to ask her to show her how to shape and cut my nails more than someone who seemed experienced.  She was impatient with me and then rushed at the end because she wasn't done when they closed at 9pm.  Disaster! They were able to accommodate a huge group (11) with one day notice and although they had to stagger us, they were able to get us all done in about 2.5 hours.  My toenails came out a tiny bit streaky, but I'm a perfectionist and I don't think anyone else would ever notice.  The hot stone massage on both my mani and pedi was a really nice touch.  The massage chairs are legit - almost too much so haha!  But I love a deep massage.  Very friendly and clean and I'll definitely be back. I was a walk-in on a busy Sunday morning and was helped right away! The pedicure tubs were very clean, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I also had one of the best leg rubs of my life. The staff is very friendly too. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because a pedicure costs $39, whereas other places in the area I've gone offer them for $25. The girls were all very nice. However, my fingernails do not look like I spent an hour getting them done, maybe 20-30 minutes. My toes look ok, but maybe because they are far away and I can't inspect them. Well  I could, but whatever.My polish is uneven, and streaky. The base coat was applied poorly, resulting in areas where it is too thick or non existent. I went because they were open late, and convenient location. So unhappy with my experience at this nail spa today. It took over 2 hours to get a mani pedi which was less then average... The lady left me with bleeding cuticles and the price for this was $75 which is absurdly high. When I went to pay I left a $7 tip (I am a college student and I was unhappy with my nails so I believed that was a perfectly appropriate tip) and the woman who did my nails very rudely told me they only accepted tips of 15% or more. I was so taken back I quickly added an extra 2 dollars and left. Looking back I wish I would have just crossed of the $7 tip and walked out. The customer service here is fantastic - they go that extra mile to make sure that you're happy and do their best to stay on time with appointments. I would like more natural products but it does not smell like chemicals or anything here, which is great, and is less expensive than some of the salons in town that have more natural items. STOP !!! Don't waste your money or time at 29th St. Nail Spa. What a joke for $39 basic pedicure. I just experienced the absolute worst pedicure in my life. They do have a great location & this shop is new to its location. I get a regular pedicure at a place that is much further away from my house, and so I was excited to find this one closer to my home_but yikes!!! I can only warn others. My total pedicure lasted 12 minutes (I timed it). My Korean gal, brushed a hot towel quickly over both legs, did not clean under my nails, did not clip them, did not remove cuticles, messed up the polished and scooted me out the door.I WILL NEVER GO BACK! During the weekend i went to the 29th nail spa and got a manicure and a pedicure. It was an amazing place with great service. So first of all the chairs are SO comfy and relaxing. I could not get out of the chair. Second the ladies that work there are very nice and cheerful and offer you water and candy. My nails were so nicely done. They were so detailed and beautiful I had to get a pedicure. The price was reasonable because of the every detail they put in everything. The ladies and I had a great conversation and they turn in music to listen to. They also have an assortment of magazines to look at. Time went by so fast. I definitely would recommend this place out of any other nail spa in Boulder. I would return of course. Read Less
