This review is for Brookside as an event venue, moreso than a spa (though I'll touch on that in a bit). When The Dude and I were seeking a venue for our wedding, we imagined an outdoor ceremony with indoor space for the reception; we also wanted a place where we could bring in our own booze (I mean c'mon). Since this is Colorado, the outdoor/indoor thing wasn't a super narrow list. Since this is the wedding industry, and the overhead charge on alcohol can be through the roof, that checkbox did narrow down our list.We toured Brookside Gardens and knew it was the place as soon as we saw the outdoor ceremony site; this was even before they had built and completed the round awning-type structure all the way around the circular site. With the backdrop of the mountains, the colorful, well-attended gardens all around, and the re-done farm house space inside, we couldn't go wrong. Grant, it was a drive from Denver proper, but less so than Estes or a mountain wedding location, so we were willing to compromise on that aspect. We had some blips in communication throughout the 11 or so months from signing the contract with them, but in the end it wasn't a big deal. And when it was go time, their staff and on-site coordinator had it on lock. They work with several nearby vendors, which helped give us a starting point when we were looking for other services (e.g. catering, cake, etc.), and many of those we either met with and/or worked with offer a discount or hold the delivery fee when working with Brookside (and when it comes to a wedding, every little bit helps). Some of our best vendors we found through the list and working relationships with Brookside. The only one they require you to work is one of their approved caterers (because of the liquor and whatnot), but again, our caterer was fabulous and does many, many events at Brookside, so it all ran so smoothly.Brookside Gardens is definitely not the cheapest venue out there, but for what you get (dinnerware, linens, outdoor/indoor space, sound equipment, wedding party suites, etc.), the price is justified by the lessening of stress and worry from the day. Also, I only partook of the make-up services through the on-site Aveda salon/spa, but was so happy with my results. They offer a discount on services if you are having an event there, and the convenience of on-site hair and make-up is also very helpful. On the day-of, I was served sparking wine while having my make-up done. The day-of coordinator helped with so many little things, and the staff were very nice. People say that no wedding day goes perfectly, and while we had a few hiccups throughout ours, none were a result of a shoddy venue or poor staff. Brookside Gardens and its vendor partners will make your wedding day a little easier to plan, and little more magical to experience. Read Less
