I've been going to this salon for about 8 months now, loved it at first. I had a couple of really great experiences but it all depends on who you get. Because lately my experiences have been terrible. Probably won't be going back because my manicures have been so bad & when paying $40 + tip I want them to last longer than a few days (I get the SNS dip). It's very clean & most technicians I've had have been friendly. There's a few that are exceptional. I think the key to going here is having a relationship with someone that you trust and always using that technician. I've had some great manicures here, but the bad far outweigh the good. The last straw for me was two days ago when I went in for a gel manicure. I kept trying to nicely tell the tech that she was putting the polish on top of my cuticles and even my fingers beside my nails, which meant it was going to lift and peel quickly. First of all, she didn't understand what I was telling her even though her English was decent, and second, two days later, my polish is all lifted from my nails and peeling off. I even asked the woman at the checkout counter "don't you think this will peel off in a few days?" She just giggled and said that she didn't know. So, I probably won't go back here. They have way too many untrained people and not enough to properly trained people. It's a waste of $40 plus tip to only have my nails done for 2 days. I'm really unhappy. On the plus side, it's a beautiful and clean salon.I used to go to the nail salon at the Gardens at Havana for several years until we moved near Southlands. I've been going here for a year after many disappointments at other salons. I've seen so many of the technicians here, all are professional, kind and very good. When I explained that I am very clumsy AND I like to clean and garden without gloves, Lynn suggested acrylic powder dip nails and I am hooked! These last until they grow out, rarely chip or dull even with all that I put them through. I occasionally treat myself to a pedi with massage, which is excellent, too. I went with my daughter (haven’t had nails done for about 10 yrs) and it was a great experience. Horrible experience! I called before and asked how much acrylics would be and they said 25$ when I walked in and showed them the nails I wanted they said it would be about 38$, when I asked why it wasn't 25$ like they originally told me they said with the look I wanted it would be about 10$ extra. This was already ridiculous but I thought a few extra dollars...why not. When I am I'm getting my nails done my nail man asked me if the length he chose was good, it was too long so I told him shorter he told me no and cut it anyway I asked him to please cut it shorter about 4 times after that... he still said no. Upon walking in, it smelled strongly of chemicals. I got a pedicure and they immediately tried selling me the $50 one. I said no at least 7 times, and when she finally accepted the fact that I was not going to get the $50 pedicure, she stopped talking to me, rushed through, and was very rude. During the hot towel wrap, the towels were not aired out and they burned my ankle. My toes look like they were painted by a blindfolded 5 year old. I would never recommend this place and I will not be coming back. Not to mention the chair I was sitting in fell off the tracks and almost tipped over. My first few times here were great. The past few times have been horrible and they up charge for everything! $25 for cat eye nail polish (basically shellac and they use a magnet to create effect) that looked horrible and nothing like what the sample was. Matter of fact I've kept all my receipts and the prices constantly change. My last straw was when I had a new set of acrylics put on and none matched in shape ir length. This place looks at how fast they can get you in and out. I tried them three times and will never be back. They are too busy looking up at the door to see customers coming in, rather than looking at your nails. I had my worse eyebrow wax where they dropped wax on my eyelid and I dealt with a bruised eye and eyelid for days. Love this place the attention to detail is beyond A+. I never had a pedicure before and they took care of my ingrown toe nails I now have pretty feet ! Nails are always on point too. Dips are the best and they look closely at your nails and never miss a detail with your cuticals or nail over hang. This is a 45 minute drive for me but well worth the drive time for perfect nails. It has been my go-to place for a pedicure in the past, but the upselling has become too much. Just so aggressive. I once splurged on the lavender pedicure and the warm neck pillow smelled of feet, not of lavender. Today once I firmly stated I just wanted the basic California pedicure, no gel, no design, no manicure, I was rushed through. My pedicure was completed 4 hours ago and I have two chips already.Here is the deal...I could spend more on my nails, but I don't enjoy excessive chemicals, UV lights, etc. I tried the dipping for awhile at this place, but it is $45 each time and the last rebase took 75 minutes. I don't have time for that. But I do enjoy an occasional pedicure, and should not be penalized for being more basic in my preferences.  Might have to try another place...there are plenty around here that don't try to upsell your services through the entire visit. This nail salon was pretty good. I liked that they were attentive to the thickness of my shellac nail polish and they answered any questions I had. They also had a good turn around time. I had a terrible day today. The manager Sean is nice but I called the night before to make an appointment for a pedi and rebase. He said oh no come at 9 30 am. No problem won't be busy. So I got there at 9 30 and packed. So he took me to do my pink and white rebase. He was like a chicken with his head cut off. Doubt my nails and answering the phone. Talking to employees and people coming in and trying to please everyone. It took long to do my rebase. He'd also make appt from on the phone while doing my nails. Now. I'm a dental hygienist and if someone was cleaning your teeth and talking to others and doing 5 other things. How would you feel? It made me feel so uncomfortable. Then he did a bad job. The worst I've had but I tried to not saying anything but after he put me in a chair for a pedi I sat there for an hour. I said. I'm done. I'm done. This is such a meat market. So I got up and told Sean how I really didn't like my ugly rebase and he needed to file a couple of nails because they were so uneven. He said he couldn't see that. I'm like what??? He's like that's not a big deal. I'm like yes..., it is yo me. So he did and not happy. Then charged me 40 bucks. I said really???? You're going to charge me 40 for this??? No discount.? Nope. This place is fantastic! I've been going here since it has opened, and yes, they were not the best when they opened. Since then, their staff and services have greatly improved. I am extremely particular about the shape and thickness of my nails and TT gets it right every time. They also have all the newer nail trends like dip, glitter, etc. It's a beautiful salon, they always have hgtv on  and the staff is mostly friendly and accommodating. They have great pedicures as well that even my husband enjoys. (He's a bodybuilder and needs lots of pressure on his lower legs and they provide that). First time and I "splurged" on the Mandarin mani/pedi.  Prices are about average but compared to other nail salons, this place treats you to an organic scrub and oils as opposed to just pedi lotions.  This is a great business as there seems to be plenty of technicians available for walk-in's.  Lisa tended to my nails with great care and the pedi was wonderfully relaxing.  She really scrubbed all the crud off so I recommend this place for any one.  They'll turn bad Barney Rubble feet into Cinderella loveliness. LOVE this salon! It is clean, updated and great prices!Lynn does a 5 star job every time! She's friendly and very attentive! I usually go in during the week after work and am able to sit right down. I make appointments because I want Lynn but there are always other girls available.They have a great gel polish selection! LOVE LOVE LOVE!ALSO! They use sanitary & sealed tools!For pedicures they put a fancy trash bag in the fountain. You get to keep the files & buffers used during your pedicure! I've had my nails done for over 10 years in my home town,they would always lift after 2 weeks and i would need a fill I came to Bella nails randomly 2years ago when my son was in a hockey tournament in nanaimo I'm so happy I did my nails last a month I drive from port alberni to get them done it's well worth it they are the best nails I've ever had ....ps Brenna I found my sunglasses :) lol Read Less
