So I was on vacation and needed a place to get my nails done on the fly.  I'm a manicurist myself and obviously wanted a quality gel manicure. I was super excited when I came upon base coat!  The quality of work was amazing, the place was fun and trendy. Everyone was extremely nice from the front desk to the techs. If I lived in Denver I would definitely want to work at base coat. Super adorable salon and great customer service but seriously...the first two photos were taken one day after my manicure. I do not work with my hands or anything crazy, I sit at a desk and type. When I asked if I could come in for a touch up tonight as I leave for my bachelorette tomorrow they told me they "were fully booked" and could not see me. I only spoke to the front desk staff who literally said "I don't know what to say..." and when I asked to speak to a manager I never heard back. They offered to refund me which I appreciate but I am now heading to my bachelorette - once in a life time - with busted ass nails. Gee thanks! *updated*The third and fourth photos are what my nails looked like the Thursday when I arrived at my bachelorette party (manicure was Tuesday evening). I had multiple chips and three broken nails which is super rare for me. My technician even commented on how healthy and strong my nails were.I will say the owner has reached out and offered to resolve this issue after this review and has been understanding and very receptive of all feedback. I hope they are able to work with their team to better work through these issues when they occur. I was highly impressed with Base Coat Salon from the atmosphere, to the vegan friendly products and the incredible staff. Everyone at this location are extremely friendly especially the manicurists, shout out to Kristin! She took her time with me, was detailed and super friendly, loved our conversation. Base Coat does not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly faces and offered water, tea, or WINE (hello!). The atmosphere is warm and cozy. If you're feeling impulsive, their waiting area has lots of knickknacks to feast your attention on... and your wallet. They actually sell a mug that has #TREATYOSELF printed on it. Don't mind if I do!Not too many Cons to mention here. The only thing that struck me as a negative was pricing. Prices range from $20-$60, for what I would consider to be "basic" nail salon services. Ouch! Major pro: Their products are vegan friendly... non-toxic, for me, means A++++. From their website: products "scented with only essential oils, plant based preservatives, and never contain petrochemicals, parabens , sulfates, or any other harmful chemicals. Meh - wasn’t a great experience. The woman who helped me was super friendly, but after paying my bill - and looking at my nails - I was not impressed. Still dirt under my finger nails, a few ragged edges, and my cuticles needed some more love. I know she was in a hurry to get me finished for her next appointment, but expected a more polished look. Love the products and the quality of the mani/pedi, but calling to schedule an appointment is just about the most miserable experience ever. there have been several occasions where I have tried to schedule two people at the same time and each time they can't accommodate because of only having one person work that day. Another time they double charged me and when I called to have the second charge removed from my card they did so quickly, but seemed annoyed at having to do it and did not apologize for their mistake. My nails do look good for about two weeks which is great, but they need to get some more techs and the people who answer the phone could use additional training. An absolutely gorgeous spot to come and #treatyourself. I came here after a super busy work day and it was perfect to relax here.  This has more of a spa atmosphere than your typical nail salon. You can feel great about what's going on your nails since this salon focuses on non-toxic products. Like I said this is spot  to treat yourself at but I couldn't imagine going here on the regular to get my nails done because of the price. $40 for a regular manicure is on the high end but it sure is nice once and awhile. Guys, if you want to feel luxurious and get a high quality nail service, all while keeping the health of your nails, then you need to treat yourself to a Base Coat service! I had Bree and she was phenomenal and attentive. All the ladies are enjoyable to be around. They personally formulate there own pure and natural polishes and the quality is well worth the cost! If I could give six stars, I would. The price is a bit lower than at a fancy hotel or spa, and definitely higher than strip mall nail places. I went with the Luxe pedicure and it was worth every penny. Vanessa took such care with my nails and they turned out beautifully! Read Less

UPDATE: One of the owners (Tran Wills) contacted me shortly after this review with offers of a redo on my mani/ pedi complementary. I will update again after the second service and let you know how it goes! Impressed with the customer service. 6/28 - Disappointed with the service. I called ahead and specifically asked for a technician who was great at nail art (as advertised in their website). When I arrived and showed my Tech what I wanted she told me she couldn't do any thing even close. So I ended up with polkadots on my toes and curved lines on my fingers. I am SO disappointed, I rarely get my nails done and I was really looking forward to something special. Instead I got an average nail job for $100. Not cool Base Coat - not cool. (A day after my service one of my toes was chipped in the middle, and a week after my gelish nails have bubbled in a strange way.) I will say that my tech was Very sweet and pleasant to talk to just not what I paid for. Read Less

From the time I entered Base Coat Nail Salon's clean, crisp, non-tonic salon, it was evident that I had found what I had always dreamed of: A non-toxic nail salon where I am treated like royalty with the added benefit of beautiful manicures and pedicures.
